Damian's Wolf - 9. Cat Food

They used Arisa’s car, the elf joking about having to get dog and cat hair off the seats. Jordan put up with the jokes, having heard them all from her before. Damian didn’t seem sure of how to handle the elf.

“So, do we want neko food or Eastern Elven?” Arisa asked.

Jordan spotted a look in Damian’s eyes as Arisa mentioned neko food. He himself hadn’t had neko in over a year, since the incident with that bastard who had cursed him with his disease.

“Neko sounds good to me,” he said, watching the mirror carefully.

There it was, a subtle look of pleasure in the cat’s eyes.

“You know, you can speak up around me,” Arisa smiled at the neko.

“I’m sorry,” Damian said quietly.

He offered no explanation though and remained silent during the ride.

The trio entered a small restaurant, Damian’s nose quivering under his hood. Jordan could see the tell-tale signs of the neko’s tail moving in the left leg of his pants, and he smiled at the sight. This had been a good idea, and he was grateful to Arisa for bringing them.

A neko approached them as they entered the building, a small smile on her face.

“Elada,” she said with a small bow to Arisa.

“Hello,” the elf smiled. “Table for three please.”

The neko smiled back, picking up a set of menus.

“Follow me please.”

She led them to a booth, Arisa and Jordan sliding into separate sides. Damian hesitated for just a moment before sitting beside Jordan, a little cramped next to the werewolf.

Jordan got a whiff of the neko, smelling his mint shampoo mixing with the natural musk of the cat. It was an alluring scent, one that forced him to fight his body, and his wolf.

“Sir?”

“Huh?” Jordan said, shaking his head slightly.

“Can I get you something to drink?” the neko asked.

“Just some milk please,” Jordan smiled apologetically.

He must have missed her the first time. Silently the werewolf berated himself. He needed to pay attention, not focus on the way Damian’s body was pressing against him, the warmth of his body mingling with the cat’s.

“Jordan, you should deal with that drool leaking from your mouth,” Arisa grinned.

Startled, Jordan wiped at his mouth with his sleeve. Arisa laughed, Damian staring at his menu with extreme interest.

“You two are so adorable,” the elf grinned.

“I wasn’t even drooling, was I?” Jordan growled.

Still laughing, Arisa shook her head.

“Bitch,” Jordan muttered, causing Damian to look at the werewolf in shock.

“Oh relax Damian. It isn’t a good day if he hasn’t insulted me at least twice,” Arisa waved off. “So, has our resident furry shown you his friend yet?”

Jordan glanced around them in alarm.

“Damn it Arisa, don’t say that so loud,” he hissed.

“No,” Damian shook his head. “I would like to see it some time though.”

Jordan looked at the neko in surprise. He had thought the cat wanted to stay away from his wolf.

Before the conversation could continue, their server returned, setting a glass of wine before Arisa and two glasses of milk in front of Damian and Jordan.

“Are you ready to order?” she smiled at the trio.

“I’m good if you two are,” Arisa said.

Damian nodded while Jordan handed back the menu he hadn’t even opened. It may have been a year since he was last here, but he knew exactly what he wanted.

“I’ll have the roasted pheasant in cranberry sauce please.”

“Excellent. And for our mystery man?”

The neko smiled at Damian.

“Can I have the Argato Delicor?”

“Ah, you are versed in the meals of the neko,” their server smiled.

Jordan could feel Damian shiver nervously, and he put his hand on the neko’s leg. Just a friendly gesture, to calm him down. It certainly wasn’t to feel the cat up.

Fortunately, the other neko was busy taking Arisa’s order and dropped the subject of Damian’s knowledge.

As the neko walked away, Arisa looked at Damian.

“So, spill. Why hide who you are? Especially in a restaurant for nekos?”

“Arisa, let it go. He doesn’t need to satisfy your curiosity,” Jordan said quietly.

“It’s a simple question.”

“With a simple answer. I guarantee you if she knew what I was, she would not serve me,” Damian replied, head down. “In fact, you two would be banned by association.”

“Well that’s not very nice,” Arisa frowned, sipping at her wine.

“Can we just drop the subject?” Damian pleaded.

The elf nodded. Nothing more would be said.

Arisa dropped them off at Jordan’s apartment, the wolf feeling more full than he had in days. He could tell by Damian’s discomfort that he wasn’t the only one.

“I’m sorry for making a scene at dinner,” the neko said quietly.

“Don’t be. It’s the only way she’ll learn her boundaries,” Jordan said, unlocking the door to the apartment.

He let the neko in first, following him closely. The night carried a chill to it he wasn’t expecting, and he was eager to get into the warm comfort of his bed.

“Hey, Jordan?”

Locking the door, the werewolf turned toward Damian.

“Yes?” he prompted.

“The first night I stayed here, you said you didn’t sleep at night. But you’ve slept every night I’ve been here.”

“Oh. You noticed that.”

Jordan let out a quiet sigh, setting his keys on the bedside table.

“It has to do with my wolf, really. During the full moon, he is always awake. I had forgotten I took my potion that night, and he was out for the count. When my wolf is up, so am I.”

“Oh. So full moons are tiring then,” Damian surmised.

“Very,” Jordan replied.

He had also wanted the neko to sleep in a bed, but he wasn’t going to make Damian feel bad by telling him that.

“Do… Do you mind if I take a shower?” Damian asked suddenly.

“Go for it,” Jordan shrugged, grabbing a book.

He sat on the bed as Damian entered the bathroom. Hearing the pipes groan, Jordan tried hard to focus on the story in his hands and not the neko’s body, dripping in the shower, the water streaming over that tight butt…

Nope, he wasn’t thinking about that at all. And he certainly wasn’t thinking about how long it had been since he had last pleasured himself.

The shower shut off, startling Jordan. Either that was the world’s shortest shower or he had lost track of time. Looking down, Jordan realized he had been staring at the first page of the book since Damian went into the bathroom.

The door opened, the sound like a gunshot in the silence of the apartment. Damian stepped out. He was still wet, but most of the water was soaking into his clothes. His face was hidden by his hood, and Jordan frowned slightly.

Standing, the werewolf set his book aside and moved toward the neko.

“You know, I won’t judge you for your markings,” he said quietly.

The neko trembled in front of him and his wolf roared at Jordan, demanding he comfort their mate. Slowly the werewolf placed a gentle hand on Damian’s shoulder. His other hand brushed the neko’s hood back, and Jordan took in Damian’s blotchy face.

“The shower isn’t hot enough to hide tears,” he whispered.

And like that, the dam broke. Sobbing, Damian threw his hands around Jordan, clutching him tightly. It wasn’t the way Jordan expected to hold the neko that night, but he shoved that thought aside. Damian was hurting, and while Jordan didn’t know how to fix what made the neko upset, he could still hold Damian until the neko had exhausted his tears.

He held the neko in the bed, gently rubbing the cat’s back. Damian still shivered silently, but the tears had stopped. There was no blame, no demanding what was wrong. Just a werewolf comforting his cat.

His hand stroked Damian’s head gently in his lap, lulling the neko to sleep. This seemed to be moving rather fast, but Jordan didn’t know what to do about it. Did friends pet each other until they fell asleep? Arisa had done that once, the first time he wolfed out near her. But that wasn’t normal.

Leaning back, Jordan closed his eyes, his hand continuing to stroke Damian’s head. Soft snores came from the neko’s mouth, warming his groin, and Jordan fought his body’s reaction. This was not happening tonight.

Gently, the werewolf moved Damian’s head off his lap, laying down on his own side of the bed. He found the neko’s snores soothing, and Jordan knew he would be asleep soon.

See? I work on older stories too. Damian and Jordan are still going strong, in between the myriad of other stories I am working on. Thank you for reading :)

One of the advantages of reading a story long afterit was first published is not being aware of gaps in the posting schedule. All the chapters are available for reading at any time I need them.

Jordan seems to instinctively know how to comfort his sad Neko, but doesn't realise the irony of his own advice about not judging someone based on something they didn't choose and can't be changed.
