Foolproofed - 3. Week 2

Week 2

Day 8
Lost...

Fingers fly over piano keys easily,
detecting small imperfections only by touch,
running over hill and dale, wind in hair—
STOP!
Focusing on sense of lost might help treasure the previously mundane again,
but
it poisons the mind eventually.
The operative word is achievement,
Not even regain,
only plain achievement.
(The sense of being/having lost)

Day 9
Today the mind can’t latch on a given theme, focus on a certain mood, an image, or a borrowed line.
Today it floats, strays, wanders about and chases an idea to unravel.
Gotcha!

(no prompt)

Day 10
Tiles in outrageous lime,
horrible, horrible
boysenberry—or plum?

The floor made of old pine,
most likely dangerous
unstable—or just quaint?

Odd wires stick out of grime
pending electric shock!
Wake-up call or quick death
by renovation?

Must have been the dream of a seventies mum.
(Things become new)

Day 11
It was almost love...
A tentative smile
crinkled the corners of your blue green eyes,
me resonating with your mesmerizing vibes
so strongly I swayed.
Forgotten was everyone else.
You and me.
Everything was possible
until the elevator door closed behind me.

(Borrowed line from Skin: Rag’n Bone Man)

Day 12
Letters build words,
words create images,
images form worlds,
worlds expand to universes
by turning over pages.

(Silent Things)

Day 13
Love is the release of dopamine and a related hormone, norepinephrine,
Love does not judge,
Love is hot sweaty sex,
Love accepts unconditionally,
Love heals,
Love is energizing,
Love is entertaining,
Love is thrilling,
Love is decreased and increased appetite,
Love is bouts of giggling,
Love is insomnia,
Love is comfort,
Today, love is the temple where I worship.

(Let your poem have at its heart a real or metaphoric temple.)

Day 14
To bite into the first fat, red, gleamy strawberry of the year,
without any cream or sugar,
just pure conserved sunshine,
blasts away all remnants of winter.
(Doing something very simple can seem a renewal)

Thank you for reading my poems. Any reaction will be appreciated.

Day 9--been there

Day 10-- oh God... been there

Day 11-- Oh dear Lord... been there--felt the electricity... if only

Day 12--been there... words are magic, thought or spoken

Day 13--BEEN THERE! Beautiful... I miss my temple

Day 14--been there. I have a special memory of strawberries... and yes, it's cliche. :)

The first one fried my tired brain, but got me ready for the following wonderful poems... good job again, Adi. Cheers!

So much to savor in this set, like the strawberries you write about in Day 14. I was drawn to Day 11, and the story it succinctly told. Day 12 resonated with me, for new worlds are irresistible. Day 13 swept me up in its impetuous declarations. Thanks for all of these.

Strawberries have always been the epitome of not-winter to me, even in times where we can get any fruit at any time, imported from warmer countries.

I'm happy you found things to savor  in my poems, enjoyment is a very  important part of life IMHO.
