Wait. What? The Devil is Gay? - 1. Chapter 1

Gabriel's eyes opened. Heat. All encompassing heat surrounded him.

"Well what do we have here?"

A deep, rumbling baritone washed over him, vibrating his senses like the purr of a big cat. He was being eyed, like prey.

"Where am I?" he asked, blinking, trying to see into the heat that shimmered around him.

"Where do you think you are?"

Gabriel's eyes focused, but he doubted what he saw was real. A monster? Demon? Something not human came closer.

It's skin shimmered, not black, brown, not red, purple nor blue. A combination of the deepest hues of every color rippled across a human-like body. An iridescent prism of darkness. Chisled muscles that could trigger a sculptor's wet dream, a cock that would star in every teenage fantasy. Spiral horns protruded from its skull like polished ebony.

The eyes.

Gabriel was drawn to those inky depths. Those eyes stared into his very soul, his existence. Endless pools of infinite caliginosity.

It smiled. Dazzling brightness in stark contrast to the rest of it, transforming its entire countenance into something incredibly beautiful. Damn.

"Who are you?"

It chuckled, the rumbling sound reminiscent of an eighteen wheeler barreling down the highway.

"I'm Lucifer."

"You're shittin' me!"

The rumble turned into a thunderous laugh. He said, "If you prefer, you may call me Satan, Amun, Beelzebub, Samnu, Thamuz, or oooooh! How 'bout Loki? That's one of my favorites! Take your pick. The possibilities are almost endless."

Gabriel thought this dude was nuts.

"Am I dead?"

"What do you think?"

Gabriel's face scrunched up, "Must be. But how did I end up here?"

Lucifer looked amused, "How do you think you ended up here?"

"Do you ever not answer a question with another question?" Gabriel huffed.

Lucifer's smooth skin over his left eye rippled as if he were raising his eyebrow.

Gabriel rolled his eyes. "What I meant was, why am I in Hell? I wasn't a bad person, I never killed anyone or anything."

"Were you raised in a religious family?"

"Yeah, I kinda drifted away when I got older." Gabriel answered.

"So you were taught God is good, the Devil is bad, Heaven is for the devout and Hell is for sinners?"

Gabriel nodded.

"What if everything you were taught……….. is wrong?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Why did you drift away from your beliefs?"

"Will you quit with the freaking questions as an answer?"

Lucifer smirked.

Gabriel sighed. "Because the church taught that it was a sin to love another man. Wait! Is that why I'm here? Is it true? Being gay is a sin?"

"Calm down. It's not a sin. Let me spell it out for you. Everything you were taught is wrong. Look around you. Open your eyes. Tell me what you see."

Gabriel turned around and described the scene before him. He saw a vast openness with beings of every color, shape and size going about their business like they belonged. Every skin tone, every shade. It was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen. Pride, everywhere.

"Every being you see has either put aside the belief, or was never taught that there is only one way to Salvation."

The proverbial light bulb went off, or was it a dark bulb? Black light? Whatever, Gabriel started to understand.

"So what you're telling me is that those who believe that everyone should share their beliefs, no matter what they are, go to Heaven, which is really Hell because those people are narrow minded and blindly follow the doctrine of whichever religious cult mentality they're a part of?”

Lucifer did that weird skin-rippling-over-the-eyebrow thing again and touched his long index finger to his nose.

"Ding, ding, ding! You win the prize!"

Gabriel laughed.

"What about the whole light versus darkness thing?"

"What is light and dark?"

"Jesus Christ! Again, answering a question with a question!"

Lucifer chuckled, "He's not going to help you. Dad's got him on lockdown. You get so fired up. Just like my brother that you're named after, only you're cute. He has his nose so far up Dad's ass it's a wonder he can blow his damn horn at all. Anyway, back to my question. Define light and dark. Scratch that. Define white and black."

Gabriel tilted his head, "White is what you see due to the reflection of most wavelengths of visible light. Black is what you see with the complete absorption of light."

"Aha! Darkness absorbs, takes in, is inclusive, it doesn't discriminate. Light pushes away everything."

Mind blown. Gabriel was speechless. He looked down and realized he was stark naked. His face reflected his shock.

"Oh! The ‘Adam moment. Just figured out you're naked? My, what a delicious little morsel you are too. The things I could do to you."

'Yes, please!' Gabriel thought. He instantly popped a boner. "Wait. What? You're gay!?"

"Technically I should probably identify as bi, or maybe pan? Gotta admit, I do prefer guys. Should I show you?"

Lucifer branded him in the hottest, most searing kiss he ever had. Gabriel let himself be taken to places and experience sensations he didn't think were possible.

When at long last he basked in the heat and comfort of the afterglow, his eyelids drooped. If this truly was Hell, he wanted to stay forever.

As darkness dragged him under, safe in Lucifer's searing embrace, Gabriel thought he heard a distant, deep timber whisper, "I wish I could keep you."

Gabriel woke. He bolted upright, fragments of his dream still lingering. How odd, a gay devil.

Shaking cobwebs from his head, he went into the bathroom. He realized his ass was sore, but in a good way.

In the mirror, his eyes widened as pupils darker than inky blackness stared back. A stinging sensation drew his gaze down to a blazing brand on his left hip bone. A beautifully scrolled “L” in the same iridescent prism of darkness as Lucifer’s skin.

His. Forever.

Never had he been so proud.

This was a little idea that I got while walking the dogs one night. Sometimes I do my best thinking then.
Other times weird stuff pops in my brain. This was one of those times.
Hope you enjoyed it!
