This story is an original work of gay fiction. None of the people or events are real. Before And After the Divorce - Prologue. Prologue

Maybe I missed them; there are a lot of stories here. I've read stories occurring after a gay man gets a divorce. I don't recall seeing one that told the story leading up to the divorce, and also continues through the aftermath, and into the new relationship.
I got the idea when reading 'Raising the Limit' and 'Pushing the Limit' by kbois. David's ex-wife was part of the story, but the divorce had previously occurred. If you haven't read them, you missed a good story. Go read them. I'll wait.

You're back? I hope you enjoyed them. They got me thinking what might happen to drive that stake deep enough to break up the marriage. I know the generic answer is obvious. This is one possible, more specific, example. And of course, it continues the man's story.

It was a small wedding. Neither she nor I had a lot of friends or a large family. I have one brother, she has one sister. None of our parents had any close siblings. Close being both geographically and emotionally. We were both what was once called change-of-life babies. My mother was almost 46 when she had me, dad 2 years older. Her parents were slightly older. Mother was 49, father 48.

So, the wedding only included our immediate families, and two good friends each. I was 19, she was 18. I know, pretty young, but we didn't have a choice. Most of the time when we had sex, we used protection. One night I snuck a little alcohol out of my dad's liquor cabinet. A few swallows later each and Jim Beam helped us throw caution to the wind. It was really the start of all my troubles, although it was a few years before they became evident.

I suppose I should introduce myself. My name is Dylan Pastore. The ex was Lacy Trentino. This is my story.

Seriously? You are giving readers a 42 chapter reading assignment :read:  (no offense @kbois ) before we read your story? Don't want to give a us the 'Cliff's Notes' version instead? Or perhaps put footnotes where applicable for bits of ephemera? Oh wait, footnotes are traditionally and generally found in nonfiction works. Whereas Fiction throws you in deep water, assuming you can swim. (Do we need to explain the "AssUMe" joke?) Given the general state of education in the last 20 years ('grads' who wouldn't know a thesaurus if one fell on their head), I'm recommending more Fiction authors include footnotes as a novel idea. :whistle:

Sheesh, I don't like this 'prof' or TA's! 

NB: An Italian shotgun wedding? This is SO going bad.

Just go read the damn stories. Now that the shifter series is almost wrapped up it'll give you something to do.

You mean go back to my 'Covid Collection' of books? Also read 'War and Peace' (Spoiler Alert, didn't change outcome). While I wait for your next story, maybe a little light reading, like Amdt**.**.* :read:

* As you read this, I 'had' to edit out 7 characters to remove 'citation' reference that Carlos via CJ would have gotten through. Gosh I miss him so much.

No. I said her stories was the influence for the plot. There's actually no linkage between the two/three.

Yeah, it does get bad - just read on, Hehe.

Yeah, there’s no link between kbois’ stories and this, just the inspiration aspect.

There’s something to be said about being able to go through a story at your own pace. Feel free to comment along the way if you want. I read and try to respond to them all. No comment comes too late.
