The adventure continues. CJ, his family, and friends return for the last two years at School Without Walls High School.

A little over a year after graduating from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, the State department posts CJ Abelló to the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City. CJ, his husband Owen Liston, and their daughter, Elizabeth Liston Abelló, immediately make themselves at home south of the Rio Grande.
Until disaster strikes and their lives are forever altered.

Richard Leonard Peterson wanted to fly for as long as he could recall. His father, an Air Force pilot, was the inspiration. When his parents died in a boating accident, Ritch moved to Washington, D.C. to live with his brother and his brother’s fathers. A month before turning eighteen, he becomes a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. If he can safely navigate the subsequent four years, he will be commissioned as an Air Force Second Lieutenant upon graduation

As he begins his sophomore year in high school at School Without Walls, the traumatic events at the end of summer linger. And over the next few months, he begins to explore his new life with visits to Chicago, Miami, and New York City.

At fifteen, CJ moved to the District of Columbia when his step-father discovered the teen was gay and banished him from their Miami home.

In Washington, living with his biological father and his partner, CJ blossoms thanks in part to the guidance provided by his father’s gay friends.

A year after moving to Washington, D.C., CJ Abelló’s a much more confident young man, ready to challenge the world.

He and his friend Harley embark on a road trip soon after the end of their sophomore year in high school, spending time in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Oshkosh.

Leaving his yellow Jeep, Defiant, at home. He travels to Australia on his own. A second road trip has him visiting the Blue Mountains and exploring Canberra.

Following a stop in Miami, he returns to the District, where someone he meets at a party will influence his future.

CJ just celebrated his sixteenth birthday, received a Jeep as a present from his fathers, and is about to fly to Sydney to spend Christmas vacation in Australia. New characters appear who will play a pivotal part in his life.

César asks for family time as a birthday present, so Brett charters the sailing mega yacht Flying Circus for a vacation. Cruising the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain, César celebrates his 50th, and Owen his 35th. While the adults enjoy the white-glove service, Liebe, Roosevelt, and Jefferson Abelló keep them on their toes.
