And now, I'll turn you over to Wayne...
Well here we are, less than a week from Halloween. Needless to say I couldn't let this go by without allowing some spooky fun happen with the prompts. I am hoping these inspire some Halloween tales or spooky fun. With no further delays here are this week's prompts.
Prompt 272 – Creative
Tag - List of Words
Use the following words in a story – pumpkin, black cat, creaking step, a skeleton, and a wand.
Prompt 273 – Creative
Tag – The Halloween Party
You are throwing a small Halloween Party for your close friends. You put together some killer food, holiday music, and everything seems perfect. Your guests arrive in some wild costumes and just when it seems everything is perfect you have an uninvited guest show up, and a real witch to boot. Upset by the costumes and attitudes of your guests she cast a spell over them, making them into their costumes until dawn. What sort of things are now at your party? What have you become? Will everyone make it till dawn?
Well now that I have your attention, maybe someone will pick up the challenge and give us all something to read for Halloween this year.
Last week we had two prompts but only one got any attention. Prompt 270 asked the writer to use "Because, I'm leaving you." as the first line. Myiege had an interesting take on it so let me offer you a glimpse.
“Because, I’m leaving you,” Sal said, looking Calvin in the eye. He didn’t falter, he didn’t waver, his eyes boring into those captivating grey-blue eyes. His words came with conviction, but he wasn’t sure how long he could hold that all-consuming gaze. His knees were just about to tremble when—
“And cut! Take ten guys, we’ll take it from there in the next run. Good job, Sal.”
Sal ran a hand through his hair, flashing Calvin Dager a weak smile. Of course the other actor didn’t spare him a glance and just walked over to the snack table and got a bottle of water. Sal sighed as he watched the gorgeous man walk away. He had been horribly disillusioned to think that there would be anything other than professional coolness between him and Calvin Fucking Dager. Even if there was a sex scene between them in the movie. Even if he was out of the closet. Even if he was single. There was not one reason Calvin Dager – voted the Sexiest, Most Unobtainable Man of 2013 by swooning housewives everywhere – would want a damn thing to do with Salvatore Who? Espi.
Calvin wasn’t going to show up at his trailer one night – gloriously naked – complaining that his own trailer had been broken into and all of his clothes had been stolen. Calvin was not going to suddenly pin him against the wall and proclaim his undying love, that he had been smitten from day one. Calvin was not going to be anything but a professional actor and every kiss they shared onscreen meant nothing. Even if each one make Sal weak at the knees. Even if tongue was involved every time. Even though Sal desperately wanted them to be real.
Sal waited until Calvin had cleared the snack table before going over himself and grabbing a few granola bars and a water bottle himself. This role had been that of a lifetime; the chance at fame he had always wanted. But he was quickly coming to terms with the fact that it was not all it was cracked up to be. He had expected raging after parties in all the hottest gay clubs. He had expected men to fall at his feet and beg to fuck him. Apparently that kind of stuff didn’t happen until after the movie release. As of now, he was still an unknown. Paparazzi didn’t follow him when he went to get coffee in the morning. His neighbors still didn’t know he was an actor. The real estate agent still gave that look that wondered if he really could afford the apartments he was asking to see. And that wasn’t even mentioning the long grueling hours under hot lights across from the man he had fantasized about ever since he had known that chicks didn’t do a damn thing for him, the one he didn’t have a chance in hell with.
Did you like it? Wanna know how it ends? Wanna see what the others did? Of course you do so click here to read them - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/37826-prompt-270-creative/
So until next time remember to write, to read, and of course to review the many wonderful works on site. - Wayne
