I was just remarking a couple weeks ago how beautiful and meaningful country from this time was, before the genre completed it's split from rock.

Wasn't one I'd heard too often, but this version of it is growing on me the more I listen to it. The barer vocals, for me, really evoke the poor, desperate background of the narrator and titular character.
