A Phone Call Can Change Your Life

blog-0980566001360116892.jpgThe last six or seven weeks of my life has been full of chaos and turmoil, some good, some bad. Death knocked on the family's door, happiness greeted some, and a phone call just turned my life upside down.

My hubby and I acutually sold our house and a guest house in the worst housing market ever five years ago just to be within fifty miles of my daughter and grandson. Don't get me wrong. We would not have had it any other way. They were use to having us close, and we were certainly used to having them.

After five years of having our grandson every other weekend, and seeing her on those weekends, she called to tell me tonight that she had gotten promoted to a higher position in her company, but almost 400 miles away. I am deciding if I am heartbroken, proud, or in a fog. I just want them to be happy and be in a good place, and where she is being transferred is a much better place. Just feel like the world has stopped and my babies got off without me.

Sorry to sound sad guys, but had to tell someone. My hubby is trying not to show his sadness and I am determined to be strong and happy for her. It is a wonderful opportunity for the both of them.

What a beautiful young lad, defiantly a treasure to be proud of Bud.

As a mom, your grandkids are even more of a reason for you to celebrate the world and family around you. You've nurtured these young people into adults, and now they are doing the same around you, so it is natural to feel super proud and maternal towards them.

Having moved once to be close to them, it can only come as a shock to the system to now suddenly face the risk of losing them to distance once more, allow yourself that time to feel sad.

Time may work something out, things may unfold in a way you never expected, but you are allowed to feel a bit gutted too! I'd be worried about you if you didn't.

Your on a curved path right now, one of life's twisted moments. Hang in there girl, you are a treasure to so many, and a flame we all admire. Love and hugs to you and yours, and take extra special care.

Always here.

Oh wow, your grandson is so cute, makes me want to hug him. :)

I love the way you love Jo Ann, such a big warm heart. I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision for your daughter. It's hard to give up the kind of support you offer so effortlessly, so, I'm pretty sure she'll do her best to make sure they visit you once in a while.

 It's okay to be sad, and happy at the same time. It just means you love her very much. Like Yettie says, 'hang in there, girl.'

Cheers,

Sui

Aww, Jo Ann.

I know how important family is to you. That is some move your daughter is facing

I know it isn't easy to let someone you love leave you behind, but while you might not have the location but you will always have that close spot in each others hearts.

Here is you need me.

Sorry to hear that they're moving that far away for you.  You're being a trooper being strong and happy for them... Just like a great mom should :)
