dom, if your neighbor has a great dane, just get to be friendly with it. they are usually big babies that just want attention. but you DO NOT want a great dane of your own!!! not unless you really like horses, because in reality a great dane is a shetland pony size dog. they can eat between 3-7 pounds of food a day and what goes in must come out--were not talking about cute little poodle logs here either. so let your neighbors have the "fun" part of owning the big baby....but feel free to spoil it when the neighbors arent looking 0:)

I'm kind of surprised....I'm still at work (third night in a row where I'm working really damn late) and Robert sends me an IM with the section of the post about Service...but leaves out the part of the dog. He's a dog-freak/fanatic so I'm really surprised he didn't include that part (BTW, Robert, IM is on the computer running the statewide countbook and if an IM crashes that countbook that is now 56% done after running for 3 1/2 hours, I'm going to scream).

There's actually little for me to do except make sure this damn count book finishes and is turned into a pdf without crashing and losing everything, so I've been writing. With a damn bad week at work where everything is set-back after set-back, the story I'm working on is Service and I'd say the chapter is almost done. It might even be done tonight. Then it's off to Dom and Emoe and it's Dom's turn. So I'm heading back and picking up where I left off, with Jared standing half-naked in front of a very scared human boy...

Great Danes are the sweetest dogs! They have so much personality. (sigh, I miss my Great Dane!) they aer wonderful except if they get too bored; then, they start destroying things. At the size of a great dane, if he chews on your couch--you only have scraps left! Otherwise, the sweetest, most wonderful dog!

ex-neighbors used to have a great dane and a shih tzu (spelling?). Great dane was a pup....the shih tzu would bark at him and cower him.....until about the 6 month point, when he realized how much bigger and stronger he was. They got along well, though.

GDs are big suckers....and they slobber when they eat....very gross.

My dogs are pound pups....cross between irish setters/retrievers of some sort, w/a little border collie in there somewhere. They love to chase the squirrels and birds in the back yard. Current neighbor is a bird fanatic w/multiple feeders, so the yard is full of birds and squirrels...puppy heaven.

Just visit the neighbor's dog....let them feed him and pay the vet bills.

Don't get Robert started on his dogs..OUCH...I mean our dogs. I can't count the number of nights I wake up because I try to move and there's a dog in the way. Oh well, at least they're warm on a cold night. :)

Oh, and Dom, there should be a present for you in your inbox in the morning (emoe too, and there might even be two presents for emoe)

Remind your mother that over in the UK we got Margaret Thatcher for 11 years... hang on... bad example. Seriously, she was a woman (an evil, nasty woman), who was able to stand her own ground very sucessfully.

Also, we have had a few queens who have been more successful than the kings when given a chance - Victoria...

Dom,

Also, remind your Mom about Golda Meir (an amazing woman and she led Israel as its Prime Minister). Also, Indira Ghanda, was Prime Minister of India. There are several women now leading countries.

I hate to ask this question but I know you are swamped. I was thinking the other day about the story you began about Harry. It intrigued me and I am wild about Harry...so I was hoping that maybe down the line you may decide to continue the story (I do remember for those that seek to flame me) that you would often write several chapters of several different stories. I can see the DD fans bombing my IMAC computer...ouch...

Oh well, I was just wondering and I do love your new story..Oh, heck, I love all of them:)

Thanks for sharing them with us and as to the puppy...I vote with the others..especially a Great Dane....more like will be a horse when done and well, admire from afar...and I do remember the Cat incident..so, yeah, play nice with the neighbor's dog...emphasis on neighbor's and not yours:)

Hey Dom,

Funny story about my friends Great Dane, Diesel. I gave my buddy a ride home and pulled up to his house. Diesel was right there by my mustang and just popped his head in through the window. His paws were still on the ground. I sat there petting his head and neck until he let me out...inwhich My friend saic "Sic him!" and the dog pretty much made me his bitch. Of course as soon as I fell over and Diesel figured out what position I was in, it took both me and my buddy to get him off.

I loved chapter 31 of DD and your new story is pretty good man. Keep it up.

i just have to ask---if it took you and your buddy to get him off, does that mean he made your buddy his bitch too?? 0:)

The Victorian era was successful for the UK, but I'm not so sure about the Queen herself. I'd rather point at the first Elizabeth. You know, the virgin? Well, a damn good queen regardless.

My history aint that good (neither's my sport which is why we do so bad on the Sport and History round at the local pub quiz). I'm thinking that Victoria had a Lake named affter her and was thinking that had something to do with the great explorers and us colonising lots (which was seen as successful at the time - less so now)

It's a huge lake in Kenya and a main source for the Nile.

Oh, and don't forget Elton John.

My guess is that more women than men will feel threatened by a woman President.
