Calling all prompters!  It's time for the second annual Prompt Team Event!

Anyone who knows me and @Aditus will agree that we like to keep people guessing, so we're changing things up a bit this year.  Prompts are designed to help us grow as writers.  To push boundaries and explore ways of writing or genres we may not otherwise consider.  So this year, we are doing a genre/subgenre challenge! 

 

To participate:

PM either myself or Aditus.  We will assign you a random genre/subgenre. If you would like, you can request two subgenres to choose from.  Prompt responses may be any length, but if they are below 1,000 words, then they must be part of a collection.  If they are 1,000 words or more, then they may be posted as a stand-alone piece.  Responses must follow site guidelines.  Once the story is written, PM me with the link to the story or chapter (if part of a collection) by midnight EST on December 14th, and I will include in the December 18th blog. 

***Do not publish your story/chapter or set the date/time of publishing.  I will set the publish date when I create the blog.  

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Do I dare to accept the challenge???

I'm thinking, how do I work penguins, zombies, dustbunnies, cases of Pepsi, along with otters, and druids???

As to food on the three major holidays, this year for Thanksgiving, we will have bacon-wrapped turkey breasts done lattice style. For Christmas, a prime rib roast, and for Easter, we will have ham garnished with a maple syrup glaze along with pineapple and cherries!

Now to send Val a PM...may the saints preserve me, and my football team at 10 and 2 keep on winning...oh yes...the ten dollar scratch card I put safely away turn up soon!!!!!

Good look!  I’m a bit dubious of their “random” selection of the genre. 😂 I had to look up what mine meant before starting….

Oh shoot. I wonder if I should have done that before I finished and submitted mine. Good thing it was only defined by what Val sent me.

Even though the major genre was something I’d never touch in a million years, the minor genre made it something I could work with. Finished it in a few days. I think it’s comparable to my other ultra short stories with another common thread.

Haven't written vampires or werewolves yet, either, but I've read plenty of MM romances with them, a little bloody at times and very spicy. 

This is seriously on my list because it’s going to be as ridiculous as I can do it and probably piss off some die hards in the process.

But it’s not my assignment this time lmao.  Oh no I’ve got a good one to make flamboyantly great.

In that case it should be a v good read. Mine is finished, it turned out to be fun to do (kudos to @Aditus and @Valkyrie) and left my partner slightly green as I read him the ending! He’s quite nervous 😥 .

Yeah I need to finish mine was to do it today but we had a severe storm roll through this morning and it did some damage to an electrical panel so I need to probably replace some breakers lol
