Spring ahead

Soon we will switch to summertime/daylight saving time and have to get up one hour earlier. There are those people who love it; they jump out of bed with a bright smile. And then there’s me, my dragon, the cats, and the dog, who start the day more or less sleepwalking. What about you?

This time, we will write about the problems the switch causes.

PT Prompt #329

Every clock adjusts itself to the right time. Every clock? No, the one your protagonist always uses shows the old time. They remember to change to summertime, but sadly, in the wrong direction.  A day of horror ensues. Or not?

PT Prompt # 330

Celebrate the new season, either with a poem, a song, or a short flash fiction piece.

Please include the prompt number either in your story/chapter description or title to help readers who would like to search for specific prompts. Also, please remember that stories less than one thousand words must be posted as part of a collection.

If you check the subgenre ‘prompt’ in your story tags, then people/readers can find everything here:

what is Flash Fiction?

Doesn't everything involve waffles, or tea, or coffee, or anything breakfast around this time, my time, of the day?

Anyway, flash fiction is a very short, complete story between 500 and 1000 words.

Right so Penguins (shudders and fetches his Polar Bear, King of the North anti-penguin stick)

Ok so a short, short story... hum... about clocks not springing ahead, like they should and chaos... I am going to have to look into this...
We of the North need to defend our reputation from evil Penguin invaders.

There is another term. much harder to do -- a DRABBLE is a short story of EXACTLY one hundred words, yet complete in itself.  @Topher Lydon -- that is an even more challenging target to hit.  I have seen one story do that, on another site starting with A and the last word starts with D.

Um, this sentence could very well be in any story I write. It's very...suggestive for a proper Canadian. The FO must be rubbing you of off on you.  *typos*

I have a full time job, I cannot babysit him all the time. I see that I've been lacking and let him run wild. *Sighs* He'll be dealt with. :)

I'm assuming he's called wildone for a reason. Though if anything, he learned that bad behavior from a certain someone.  :)

When you visited me you've always been an angel. And when you molted your angel feathers, you always cleaned up after yourself.

Prompt number who-knows-what --- "What do you mean, be prompt?  I'm always prompt!" he exclaimed.

Prompt number who-knows-what + one --- "Look at that cloud!  It looks like a duck being eaten by an alligator!"
