Masked Monkey 32 Posted August 19, 2005 First off, I'm glad you are out of the corner, having been there many times myself, I understand completely. Does the fact that you are going out to get drunk mean we get to look forward to making fun of you this evening (our time)? Snow Dog

viv 687 Posted August 19, 2005 Dave!! I so was NOT talking about your height but more of a length if you will. Like in a complimantary way Maybe if you explain to Chris that even if he doesn't want to go for himself, he should go for you, to make you feel better. Make a wager, if you are wrong and it is nothing important and nothing is seriously wrong, then you can .... fill in the blank and if you are right, at least you got him to go. Hope that clears up everything... Vivian
lurker 14 Posted August 19, 2005 Damnit. Not sure if you were still in chat at the point where I explained that calling my name is a sure way to get my attention, even when I'm TRYING to be discrete. You're right, though. I didn't want to read it. Good thing it's not the sort of thing I'm posting in my blog about, even though my blog is allegedly about "What I'm reading." Hope you have a great weekend, Dave!
Rocketcnj 2 Posted August 22, 2005 Dave, I keep forgetting to post this...I would give the job some time. Also, maybe you can look at the job as a learning/growth experience...setting goals for yourself and store and see what happens. Also, are you permitted to set goals for managers and are you able to rate their performance? If so,maybe that can help them understand your performance goals/expectations for each of them with specific time frames. Then, when you do their evaluations, you and they have benchmarks to see if they met those goals. Also, its helpful if you ask them to write down the goals they want to set in their job positions and when you do their 3 month/6month/yearly evaluation, you both can see if those goals were met. But then again, I am not sure how your company works..so maybe check with your upper managment and human resources. Also, set your own goals and expectations of your job and see if you meet them...and set a date as to when you expect to reach those goals. Then when that date arrives, you can review where you have been and what has been accomplished. Just a thought. I hope it helps. Michael
