Ieshwar Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Crushing The Glass Boy None can crush The Glass BoyWith the boulders and StonesFor fragile is his heart And not his flesh and bones Let go your arrows of liesTo pierce those innocence-filled eyesPlunge your spears of hatred in that chestFilled with breath of love and sweetness Bind him with the ropes of lustAnd gag him with pieces of deceitDrown him in the sea of despairRelish shards of him at your feet He, who has loved, needs to be killedHe, who believes in virtue, must be poisonedHe, who is different, needs to be destroyedHe, who is The Glass Boy, must be crushed. AFriendlyFace Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Wow! This is really powerful, Ieshwar! I love all the imagery. It has a very strong effect and I feel so very sorry for The Glass Boy. He seems so sweet and yet is so hurt Awesome job with this poem. It's very beautiful! Kevin

Bondwriter Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Nice poem, quite cryptic but the imagery is inspiring. It makes me think of David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust for some (obscure) reason.
Ieshwar Posted September 28, 2007 Author Posted September 28, 2007 What? You guys really liked it? Wel, I wasn't expecting this but... Thanks! I think that poetry isn't my stuff. I'll stick to stories. Perhaps, once ina while, I'll write some poetry... It makes me think of David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust for some (obscure) reason. Never heard of it. What is it? By the way, how did you find the poem? Dark? Ieshwar
Bondwriter Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 It didn't seem overly dark to me. For your info (no clue whether this is relevant ): live performance of Ziggy Stardust David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust Ziggy played guitar, jamming good with Wierd and Gilly, The Spiders from Mars. He played it left hand, but made it too far, Became the special man, then we were Ziggy's Band. Ziggy really sang, screwed up eyes and screwed down hairdo Like some cat from Japan, he could lick 'em by smiling He could leave 'me to hang Came on so loaded man, well hung and snow white tan. So where were the spiders while the fly tried to break our balls Just the beer light to guide us, So we bitched about his fans and should we crush his sweet hands ? Ziggy played for time, jiving us that we were Voodoo The kids was just crass, he was the naz With God given ass He took it all too far but boy could he play guitar. Making love with his ego Ziggy sucked up into his mind Like a leper messiah When the kids had killed the man I had to break up the band
AFriendlyFace Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 By the way, how did you find the poem? Dark? Hmm, I would say more melancholy than outright dark. Perhaps even bittersweet. live performance of Ziggy Stardust David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust Interesting! Thanks for showing it to us, Francios. (LOL, though I can't quite see the similarity ) Have a great day all! Kevin
