GA - Readers' expectations

Oh no, I completely agree with you Kit. Such stories can be extremely relevant because of the very fact that they deal with life. As a gay male I especially value my friendship with straight males my own age or close about, even younger straight men. Sure, I might crush on them for a bit, but i'll get over it.

I've been an avid book reader since I was 6 or 7. Blame it on my mom. You can also blame the whole writing thing on her too, I just found my own interests to write about. I was born in 1981, so late 80's is when I started really reading. I realized I was gay when I was 8 and found a lot more interest in sex when I was 12, and at the time i didn't care if it was a guy, a girl, or the neighbors dog. (poor joke, i never thought about that, seriously)

But i also valued my friendship with my friends who didn't know i was gay. I only came out to one when i was 18 and that was before i left for boot camp. i still keep in touch with him, kind of. But i've also grown distant from him as the years passed and we each pursued our own lives. But i've developed other friendships.

let's face it man, needing friends and other people in your lives are like a spider web needing its strands. Each point in the web is a nexus, a joining, and it's all their for support. (shameless plug in, :) )

I say write your story. I wasn't trying to down the idea of you writing the story. i was just letting you know my thoughts regarding the whole thing. I am for it as a reader, but as a writer I'm not sure i would do something like that, but i won't say never, because you never do know what will happen.

Regards,

Jon
