An article for new writers

This post and the article linked is not a 'dig' at young writers! It seems to me that it is an encouragement to new authors of any age to persevere.

 

The title of this article says it is addressed to teenage writers, but there are things in it which I found could be usefully applied to me - and it's a long time since I was a teenager!

OMG. I read soemthing I wrote when I was like 13 and I was like..."what is this crap?"

I dunno, I mean sure I sucked but there were some gem's of sentences/phrases and such. And I can definitely see the improvement. But do you think maybe those that start writing earlier gain that experience sooner and as such the 'suckery' is reduced sooner? I'm not sure if that made sense.

Well, I read the guys 'early 'story, and... it didn't suck that bad! I thought it was pretty funnay, actually!

 

Overall an interesting article (I'll admit I stopped reading and just skimmed the rest about halfway through) but nothing really 'new' to me there.

I'm still a teenager but i think i'm growing out of my suckyness, so yes perhaps, if you do at an earlier age you get further faster.

That's the lesson.... the sooner you start, the more you write, the sooner you stop sucking ... unless of course you like sucking Sorry I can't help myself.

The author said a lot of interesting things; gave a lot of interesting advice.

 

If I were King of the world, I would demand that every school teach writing to every student. Writing can be an amazing teaching and learning tool.
