Site Administrator Graeme Posted December 12, 2010 Site Administrator Posted December 12, 2010 (edited) Tell Me That You Love Me by Young Sage The story of a man unable to let go. :nuke: :nuke: Spoilers Below!!! :nuke: :nuke: Edited December 12, 2010 by Graeme
Site Administrator Graeme Posted December 18, 2010 Author Site Administrator Posted December 18, 2010 An intriguing little story, with a realistic ending We don't get to see how much he has obsessed between reunions, but I really like how at the end he was able to let the past go and start to move on with his life... even if it's a life that was diving into a deep hole at the time. The aura of optimism at the end makes it a very uplifting story, even if nothing went to 'plan'. Thanks, Young Sage! I really enjoyed that
Rilbur Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Dangit Graeme, no fair beating me to the story and then saying everything I'd like to be able to say, but can never quite manage to articulate! But yeah, a great story, beautiful and touching.
Site Administrator Cia Posted December 19, 2010 Site Administrator Posted December 19, 2010 I found this story so sad. The character has such a low self-esteem and seems to know it and yet not care. He seemed to base his life around who he was back in high school and he never grew beyond that. That being said I did finish the story with a sense of optimism. The guy is broke and alone, his car is crapping out on him, his apartment is locked to him and yet all those things seemed to be in his life because he could not let go of this high school crush. You have to believe he went to the college close by, he moved back to the same hometown to work and live and all for what? To stay close to the memories of what could have been? Well, as Graeme said, now he knows and perhaps he can turn it all around, free from the ties that bound him all his life to his crush.
Young Sage Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Thanks you three for the reviews! I'm glad that you're all catching some of the things I wrote in. HOWEVER! There's still stuff I wrote in that I'm hoping people are getting (mainly as to how Jamie's loserness affected those around him).
Kev de Cauchery Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Wow! I love the story. The first part of it, I was like, I can really relate to that, having a crush on a straight friend and all. Even though I have considered the possibility, I never thought that Clint would really be a homophobe. Even though that was sad, I think it's too very uplifting. At least he had rid himself of the man haunting his memory and live free, as he said.
