I just caught this trailer and I am now really looking foreward to and dreading what will happen:

Spartacus, the Starz series that could rebel against all sensibilities, from man on man love to ancient battles of blood and gore, is going to end supposedly next year. Posted Image

Maybe, it is a good thing as a fan of many TV shows, I hate seeing them drag and decline in quality as they age. Ending it at their peak makes them something to treasure.

However, with only 3 seasons, I feel like Spartacus could have gone longer. (Not Counting God's of the Arena, which is good, but prequels are not seasons).

if they got rid of the women and the blood it would make great viewing!

Excuse me, but women are needed for everything in everyday life. To remove women from anything would be an excruciating mistake. :P

They do have women: manipulative, cunning, and deadly femme fatales, plus the sweet innocent girls, who get sweeped into lesbian love triangles Posted Image (I still couldn't believe Lucy Lawless was in this, she was awesome for the past two seasons)

If you removed the women, then all you would have are a bunch of guys on opposing sides.

On one side you have the mercurial guys, who have got extremely high libidos and don't care if their having sex with girls or guys. (I still can't forget the roman Whore house)

On the other side, there are slave and rebels. Slaves and slightly clad guys wearing collars being ordered around and performing "favors". Rebels are a bunch of semi-naked guys running around all sweaty and covered with blood, showing off their swords skills, then after a hard day of rebelling against the Romans go home to a nice lovemaking session.

Without girls, I think the show would turn into a BDSM soft core gay porn ! (Nothing wrong with that Krista)

I am incredibly shocked that they would get rid of the show so quickly. STARZ had only one good show on the air and it was Spartacus with its gritty portrayal of Roman life, which I find far superior to HBO Rome and Showtimes Tudor franchise.

To be on topic, I did like the show, it had a lot of potential... but then again, channels like HBO, Showtime, and Starz their series are short lived for the most part, because of the funding and writing and the like. Most of them are Pay to view - so when the budget outweighs the reward they get rid of it, no matter how quality it is. Not saying that this is the reason, maybe the writers/creators will end it justly and to carry it on would start to make it fail. It is better for these types of shows to end gracefully.. than to carry on and become trash.
