A case of someone who went way overboard and ruined their looks in the process? Ryan Scheckler. God. He had such great, fantastic skin tone, and you can't see it anymore. And he's only 24. Unless he starts tattooing on his face the guy doesn't have much of a canvas left.

That is so sad IMO. Too much ink :(

Right. At the very least, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson have the muscle tone for tattoos to look good on them. Harry Styles, at least at the time of the pic, doesn't. (I don't get why he's treated as the hottest guy in the group when he's clearly not.)

I think that the idea that you need to have muscle tone to have tattoos is as discriminatory as the "oh you have to be a size 'whatever' to wear shorts", or skirts for women. Skinny kids with tattoos, curvy people with tattoos, chubby people with tattoos... it still comes down to the skill of the tattoo artist and the concept of the tattoo. I think your Ryan Scheckler looks just as good in both photos, though with tats he is certainly more badass.

I am by no means skinny, neither do i have the sort of muscle tone that you clearly think people with tats should have, but i love my ink, and so does the man i married. Tattoos are an awesome form of self expression, you should not need to have some "perfect" body to put them on first.

Right. And what is a "perfect body" anyway?

I'm not saying you need a perfect body. I'm saying that if you don't have muscle tone, it's not going to look good on a guy. A guy who's a bear will have muscle tone in a way that someone like Harry Styles, who is thin, doesn't.

So thin guys can't have tats?

Personally, fireman there is too muscley for me *shudder* I agree with Addy.

Is it just me, or does it seem a couple of these guys are perving on the man in the middle?

The guy behind the flowers are checking out his ass for sure !  :P

The guy in the middle is a little baby faced for my tastes by I like his body and tats. Maybe I could get him to shave his head and grow out his beard to look a little scruffy

And then you might be a little more comfortable with the twenty plus year age difference?

These Denver firemen? :*)

Personally, I think they are perfect eye candy and I wouldn't mind a pic of a view from behind him either..... :*)

OK, let's demonstrate difference in personal taste. None of those firemen do anything for me. They're all too bulky. But the ink is pretty cool.

A killer body with some ink is fine. An average body with some ink is ok. Well-toned with a full body suit is acceptable to me. The more ink, the more the tats should relate to each other. I don't usually like it on the face, the throat, or the hands, but some folks can rock that, too.

But if you're gonna get inked, get it done well, and get something that works for YOU and the way YOU look and carry yourself. If you don't love it, nobody will.

...meanwhile addy has been busy with his mop :funny:*

I'm relieved not everyone drools over them. Thorn is right, the guy in the middle looks like a bad photoshop job. I don't have anything against muscles, but he looks like he's inflated or something. Unnatural. I like my wolfie more, all lean muscles from running in the wild. *goes for a run now*

I like the muscles on swimmers, gymnasts and dancers. Lean and natural looking from using their whole bodies in their crafts. You get similar results from certain kinds of martial arts, too.

I agree. He was such a hottie back in the day when he had his MTV show. I had zero interest in skating but watched it because of him. Now he's covered in black and grey and when his skin starts to sag he's gonna have blobbed up black and grey skin. Sigh. :(

I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to get them. I'm just saying I don't think they look attractive on people without muscles or a decent build. The actual tattoo itself can be cool, but I just don't think they look good overall on people who aren't well built. Thats MY personal taste. ;)

There is no definition, but people can mostly agree on what is a nice, and/or attractive body. The Denver firemen have nice bodies. Not my first choice but you can't deny they have nice bodies.

Looks like the start of a muscleboy gay porn scene to me. :P

Agreed... It kind of looks like that head and neck don't belong on that body. Skinny neck, enormous arms... Weird. O.o

His neck looks skinny because of the pose he's in. When you flex your arms up and your chest out like he's doing, it pushes back your shoulders and elongates and stretches your neck, which is why his looks disproportionate. I bet if he flexed his arms in the front and his shoulders forward his neck would look huge because that pushes your neck down and forward. And I bet when he relaxes his body his neck looks proportionate.
