Trying to Find a story

So I've been searching for a particular story and the name has continually escaped me though I do remember the plot. Essentially it was about a teen who went to a boarding school and he and his partner went to the beach where the partner died and the teen tries to commit suicide. The kid is then sent to a therapeutic "camp" thing. I also remember that the characters in the story appeared in another story by the same author. Does anyone recall this name of this story and where to find it?

Thank you! I've been trying to find that story for awhile. I remember trying to chase down A Face in the Window without realizing it had been published. Took me like two years to finally find it. It's awful when when you want to read a story but can't recall the name of it.

The other story is the peace within also on nifty last updated 5th may 13 . Its a shame the author left this site I used to enjoy reading his stories
