Looking for a story

Hi everyone.

 

I'm looking for a story about this boy who goes on a journey to San Francisco to find himself. But before he went to SF, he met a soldier and went to his brothers place. The soldier becomes his boyfriend and then the main character goes to San Francisco. Along the way, he met many people in SF and he got involved with politics.

 

Hopefully this is enough information lol.
