"Picnic at Hanging Rock" by Peter Weir. A very haunting mystery base on fact. The music and the setting match the mystery. 1 2

I hope you like the post on the movie. Bucket should know the movie and Peter Weir. I don't know if the mystery was ever solved. The movie has great cinematography of Australia and the actors were spectacular. It was my first introduction to the pan flute. Just now, Albert1434 said: Just a treat for Dughlas! Yup! Popular Post Headstall Posted April 24, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 24, 2022 7 hours ago, Drew Espinosa said: I realize that I've really never talked about my family's pets, other than when Guero died. And I at least want to talk about Chiquita right now. Y'all know I often jokingly call myself the God-Emperor, and y'all rebut with the fact that my mother is the Empress Mama who actually rules... we're both wrong, if there is any ruler in my household, it's our Princesa, Chiquita. And that's not even an exaggeration. You could often see her reclining like a sphinx, with one arm over the other, and not to mention the fact that her fur is rather long, so it looks like she has a mane; she's downright regal. And boy, does she know it. Out of everyone in my family, only my mother is allowed to hold her... everyone else, she'll hiss, claw, and bite if you so much as try picking her up. But if you just want to pet her, she'll allow it... mostly, lol. Now, if she comes rubbing against your legs, meowing, you know she needs some affection. So when you go to pet her, she'll welcome it with her purrs. Chiquita loves drinking from the bathroom facet. So, if she spots any of us heading to the bathroom, you bet she'll follow us into the bathroom. Once inside, she'll jump onto the sink, look at you, and meow, until you turn on the faucet, but even then, she'll expect you to also stroke and pet her as she drinks from said faucet. So, if you originally entered the bathroom to, I don't know, brush your teeth or use the toilet, you better wait, haha. She also loves turkey slices... like, when we want to make a turkey sandwich, and we open the packaging for the slices, she'll rush towards us, and all but beg us for just a tiny bite. And, at least for me, I'll break under the onslaught more often than not, lol. She also loves saltine crackers. We'd break down a cracker into tiny bits for her to enjoy. Chiquita could also be playful, even long after her days as a kitten. Like, all you really needed was to spin a hairband about your finger on the floor... and she'd get down real low, her eyes focused in on the hairband, and when you launch it, she'd chase after it. Now, Chiquita is about 14 years old now, and in all that time as our Princesa, she has shaped and changed our lives for the better. Reading back on what I've written, it comes across as if I'm complaining about serving Chiquita her every need, but I mean it all with genuine affection. And I can safely say, that I will gladly be her servant for the rest of her days. And I'll cherish her memories for the rest of mine. This was lovely to read, Drew. Some cats are definitely regal... I have one of those too. 2 2 3

My weekend is good so far. Max is watching a show on Disney Plus called On Pointe. It's a documentary series about a school for dancers. I've watched it myself, a few times, and I found it very enjoyable. We've also watched Better Nate Than Ever. 2 1 1

MIRANDA…. Don't go up there. Come back…. The final chapter of the book was removed before publication and not to be released until the death of the author. It should have remained a secret Better off pretending it didn’t exist - much more powerful that way 4 1
Bucket1 Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Horror need not always be a long-fanged gentleman in evening clothes or a dismembered corpse or a doctor who keeps a brain in his gold fish bowl. It may be a warm sunny day, the innocence of girlhood and hints of unexplored sexuality that combine to produce a euphoria so intense it becomes transporting, a state beyond life or death. Such horror is unspeakable not because it is gruesome but because it remains outside the realm of things that can be easily defined or explained in conventional ways." I had always believed that the story was based on fact. I was surprised that it is totally fiction. I am glad that the final chapter has never been included in the original novel. From the brief summary, it doesn't fit the story. Thanks Bucket. 3 1

Total fiction, not even based on true events That being said, there were plenty of Europeans that disappeared in the Australian Bush because they had no idea how to cope. And like many great stories it relies on your imagination to generate the horror. Far more scary. just ask Clo, every thing in Australia is out to kill you, even the rocks 6
Headstall Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 I got my lawn tractor going for the summer. Haven't changed the oil yet but I did that in the fall so it should be good for a few mowings. Spark plugs and battery were new last year. Woot! Good feeling to hear it roar to life. 2 2
Headstall Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 It is really hot outside... got some good sun on my face. My horse is dozing in the sun and loving it. 4
