I picked out the floor today for the bathroom reno.    I also did a bunch of housework.  I made seafood Alfredo for lunch/dinner and am now catching up on my computer stuff.  I'm debating whether I want to make a spice cake tonight or tomorrow.  It's supposed to snow tomorrow, but not too much, thankfully.  It's bluefish cold, though.

I have a bunch of editing to do too.  Once my student intern starts on the 18th, I'll have a ton of time for editing and writing.    

 

Yeah, seafood Alfredo is a little too yum... lol  I ate two helpings

I baked brownies today, for no particular reason, so I'm not gonna judge anyone for eating two helpings of anything, lol!

This is the recipe I use. Except I used dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate for the chunks, so it's a bit darker. Been making them for years.

Looks delicious!  I make really good  butterscotch brownies from scratch.  I love brownies, especially with ice cream.

I love mine with toasted walnuts and caramel sauce swirled into the batter.

I put peanuts in mine sometimes. I have a friend who's nuts(!) about peanuts and chocolate, so for her birthday one time I made a layer cake using those brownies for the cake part, and I made peanut butter buttercream to go between the layers, coffee-chocolate buttercream frosting, and decorated it with peanuts. It was very tasty, but nobody managed to finish a slice. Should have gone with two layers instead of three.  Brownies are like the only thing I know how to bake, so I use them for everything.

On occasion, yes, but not usually.

We're having ham and bean soup and warm crusty bread. The last time I made the soup I froze some for later ... it's later. Plus the weather has gotten chilly and windy. Good weather for soup.

I'm having a nice cup of hot cider.   Ham and bean soup sounds really good. I froze some of that corn quiche I made last Sunday and had a piece for lunch yesterday.  Word of advice for anyone wanting to make that quiche... don't freeze any of it!  It's still tasty but OMG it retains a ton of water.  So thawed leftovers will be quite soggy once re-heated.
