Today is National Underdog Day. One of the cable channels I like to watch, Memorable TV (MeTV), now has a second program knowns as MeTV Toons that has become available to me. They show the Classic Cartoons, including Underdog. Catch phrase, "There's no need to fear, Underdog is here.

Today we celebrate the Winter Solstice. It can also be known as the shortest day of the year, Anna and Samantha Day, day of Summer and Winter Solstice. Yule - Day of Winter Solstice, and Day of The Flashlight.

Today is National Roots Day. 

Each year on December 23rd, Festivus commemorates a holiday episode of the television comedy, Seinfeld. In 1997, the popular television comedy brought Festivus to the masses when Frank Costanza (played by Jerry Stiller) explains he invented the holiday in response to the commercialism of Christmas. Its slogan is "A Festivus for the rest of us." 

We'll celebrate the day with Pfeffernusse as our snack of the day.
