I won't say much here, except that this short piece really got me in the throat. Tthe author's...resignation? So calm. So sad. Anyway, check it out. It's Vincent's first posted work on GA and I know he'd love some feedback. The story is here.

And yes, I'm calling you Vincent. Your GA name is just too many letters. :P

Well, I already made a review till I heard there was a whole topic here to reply too... imagine my surprise! :P Anyway... on with it Vin...

I REALLY liked it and while it took me a few paragraphs to realize what type of letter it was, once I did I was torn between wanting to stop him from doing it, stop him from giving up the chance to feel that same feeling returned to him, and to just let him go since he seemed so sure it was the right thing for him to do. It was amazing how I could just imagine him wanting to say it all to Isi and how totally happy he could be if Isi only felt the same way.

I'm so glad you posted this Vin, it shows some great talent, being able to hook people in from the very beginning and keep that attention until the very end, to emotionally connect them to the characters, and to be utterly lost in the end as to what was the right thing to feel... Thanks for sharing it with us! :D

I totally agree with what's been said already. It's such a personal letter, one filled with an outpouring of emotions and feelings that seem to have been hidden for a long time. All the detailed descriptions of the guy sleeping so soundly is a stark contrast to the complex thoughts and silent admiration "I" experiences.

It took me sometime to realise what kind of letter it really was too, and that made the impact even greater. Though it was short, but so personal and powerful that at the end I felt like grabing ahold of "I" and telling him not to do anything...rash.

Definitely refreshing fresh meat :)

Awesome! Thanks so much Jeff! And yes, I'm calling you Jeff. Your GA name isn't all that many letters but I felt like it anyway :music: ::looks up resignation:: These were some of the coolest compliments I got, thank you =D

I'm so glad you liked it =D I also love how you say you felt all these things :ranger: <-- ((only one that has the right expression))

Thanks a lot! I hope all these things you say about me are true :ranger: And... you're welcome =)

Very good. Gripping, compelling, touching and vivid. So real. You can empathise intsantly with the MC through the wording.

Anyone with five minutes free should read it.

Thank you! I have to say for a large part, you took away the doubts that I had about this story :ranger:

Also, that's what I went for a lot... making it real... I'm glad you think that worked out =D

Very cool =) That's very nice to hear, really... thanks for taking the time to post a review at the story itself and here (you too Viv, OneTime =P). I'm glad that you felt it was personal and powerful enough to feel that way at the ending too :ranger:

Definitely refreshing fresh meat :)

I'm not so sure if I'm happy at being fresh meat ( ::glances at Jeff:: ) but I'm sure you all mean it in a nice way :ranger: and refreshing's cool =P

And to everybody: I really appreciated all your feedback and compliments, but it would also be cool if some of you would be able to give some... constructive of course... criticism here and there. What didn't you like about it? What would you like to have seen differently, and what should I watch out for in other stories not to do again... that kindsa stuff.

Of course, I don't wanna demand any more time from you than what you have already given me, so... only at your leisure, cool?

Thanks again all of you! ::hugs::

Well, I remember reading this on the Library way back when, and saw this posting here in the "recent posts" list...and so I read it again :)

And I have to say, Vincent, that it is truly an impressive work. It still touched me just as deeply as it did the first time I read it. I can almost hear Bertie's voice, reading the letter aloud, or see Isi as he receives it and all the reactions that follow. So, I'll tip my hat to you *tip*

That said, let's see more when you can :D I'm aware of "Weekly Update" and "The Two Worlds" and while I believe I've read most if not all of WU, I think TTW is pretty new to me...so I'll try to catch up on them, lol...but more after that certainly would not be unwelcome ;)

K, I'll shut up now, but just felt I had to comment on this again :)
