I worked in a product warehouse at Target over the summer. We literally couldn't stock this stupid series of books fast enough. So a couple of us got curious and decided to read a few pages during a lull in work. Dear sweet Jesus, the writing is absolutely atrocious and has the feeling of being written by a 14 year old girl. The sex scenes are hilariously laughable. I did a little research on this book and apparently it started out as a Twilight fanfic (which explains why its so awful). Just go read the reviews on Amazon and you'll see what I mean.

I've never seen Pittsburg fans (or any other fans for that matter) ruthlessly pick on a poor eight year old kid for wearing a jersey. That just shows a complete lack of class, and to embrace it as a part of their fan culture is pretty sad in my opinion. Do we really want to turn into a sports nation of European soccer fans where opposing sides have to be kept at bay by riot police and concrete barricades?

Philadelphia sports fans in general are just pricks, and they fully embrace it. I thought Red Sox fans were nasty, they got nothing on Philly fans. I went to a Flyers-Penguins game with my roommate freshman year and I saw three middle-aged Flyers fans ruthlessly pick on an 8 year old for wearing a Crosby jersey. I think this fits the attitudes of Philly in general. Despite being the fourth biggest city in the US, they are considered "not important" and "lesser" then the other three major East Coast cities. This feeling of inferiority carries over to sports and they become obnoxious and abrasive to make up for their feeling of inferiority.

If its just to enjoy a drink, I like Bacardi Raz or Mike's Hard Lemonade. Something fruity with very little taste of alcohol. If were drinking to get drunk, its usually Smirnoff vodka straight.

I simply pointed out a fact. If you want to get your panties in a bunch over it, thats your own problem. I don't have any whatsoever, hence why I accept the mainstream theory put forth by those who do have such credentials. -

Heres my problem with that theory. As far as I'm aware, you don't have any medical or infectious disease credentials. Every scientist I've ever heard of believed it started in Africa, and theres no hard proof to dispute that fact. I think you just had a little too much time on your hands to think about random stuff like this. -

So the US blew out its only real competition for the basketball gold medal today in an exhibition game. Who was better? The 1992 team or the current 2012 team?

It hasn't been dry here, but hot as hell. Today was the first day in weeks where it hasn't topped out in the 90s-100s range. Add in the humidity and its been a miserable summer so far up here in New Hampshire. My cold-weather body can't take it anymore. I'm moving to Canada....or Antarctica.
