  1. A well written and thoughtful story. No one likes the harshness of life. We deny.
  2. This is simply stunning and elegant. It deserves praise. Thank you for this.

    Alright

Wonderful. Profound really in its intensity. And subtle in its shattering. So much said and told in a brief poetic style. Art. I loved it.

    It Was a Holy Day

Well, the immediate response was, I want the whole story now. I know this was a big short story, but I was constantly wanting more detail and more answers and more words. You get that don't you. Very well done, and I enjoyed myself very much.

    A New Life

Oh heck, I just have to respond to that "maybe". Normally, I love the word maybe. I of course will read eleven tomorrow so maybe I should wait, and maybe I will stick my tongue out at you.

    Chapter 12

Nice to see you posting again. So Nate can shoot. . Enjoyed the info on the starships drive.
  15. Penelope I think made a bad mistake in this chapter. Obviously, she has bullied her son. Perhaps this little trick will be the spur Haze needs to step out of his daze. I hope he does. Otherwise he might not be there for Blake, because Blake is acting like someone on the edge, someone needs to anchor that man.
  16. Will the word spellbound freak you out, if I use it? It's not so much the location of the story or the diving or the baggage Blake and mystery Haze are carrying, though that is very well done. It's what's happening between Blake and Haze.
  17. Happy Birthday! Westie!

    Chapter 8: Diving

I think it is interesting that Blake finds diving freeing. That he is calmer and more aware of his outer world than his inner world. Does he think of underwater as the opposite of the world of air. It's like he switches his perception, focusing more outward underwater as opposed to this focus on his inner world out of water.I wonder if he could realize that as an epiphany of some kind, but does knowing change things? Haze is proving to be steadfast here isn't he.
  19. Besides being irresistible Haze has been kind of a mystery. I guess he still is. There is something up with his family. Something about his hiding his real self? from others. Is this mystery going to be a fulcrum in Blakes life?
  20. Did Blake's "condition" make him a better lawyer? I wonder. Did he worry over a case and every little detail? Did he find answers that won his cases? On one hand I see him as very perceptive particularly about people. He just can't understand his own self or is that out of his control, is it a reality thing? Blake is a lot of questions, but I like him very much.
  21. Powerful, I thought. That kind of experience could have unfortunate consequences, but I don't think that is the case here. Yes, it was bad and as much as Blake would rather it had never happened, I think this is a break for him. Maybe Haze is someone he can trust enough to... somehow help him?
  22. Blake seems like two people almost. One is just as intriguing and fascinating as Haze and the other is so troubled and on the edge of losing himself. Very compelling and kind of very real. People are never simple are they. So, is Blake beginning to find some peace here in Kulibari. Maybe, it seems a start.
  23. I love your characterization. These people really live in this story. Vivid storytelling.

    Poem, 3.5.11

3.5.11 By bugeye Sometimes life is in your face Up so close it closes out everything Other times you are so distant It all seems like the stars in the dark blue And the journey between the two Is either slow and painful Or fast and painful Joy and gladness imitate pain And pain is often joy and gladness Or so it seems Life is Here I am and what the hell
