  1. That's Patrick playing with the layering filter on his photo program! Cheater!!
  2. When pregnant with my first kid I had a dream I was pregnant with a book. The edges kept poking out and making corners in my stomach and it was uncomfortable. Plus, I was really irritated because I wanted to read the book and I couldn't. LOL. It's not hard to figure out why I was having the dreams, being uncomfortable and wanting to have the baby and all that but it was so vivid that the second I woke up I threw the blankets back and started making sure I didn't have a book in my stomach instead!
  3. I don't need dark colors though you will often find me in browns and greens for clothes due to the fact that I'm a pale redhead and they just look good. I do have some light blue clothing but that is definitely in the minority. I don't do 'bright' though. My husband painted our daughter's room bright shiny yellow and it doesn't seem to affect her but I'v always found I don't like it much. The rest of the house is a faintly tinted white (sort of yellow but not yellow at all if it makes any sense) and a mid-green color. My son's room is a warm blue, darker than baby but not dark. I do tend to gravitate to the darker rooms of the house. On a different aspect of color and it's influence, I tend to see color as emotion. People are 'colored' as I feel about them. It's definitely jarring when I see them in clothes that don't seem to fit that. My husband is mostly calm and quiet, strong and comforting. He's wears mostly dark colors, deep blue, brown, even maroon/red and it's fine. But when he has to wear flagger type orange shirts or a coat to work it's just not him. My best friend on the other hand is fun, bubbly and a bit flighty, to me she is orange all over I know I'm a bit weird but it's something I've learned to get used to.

    Story

Thank you. I really put a lot of emotion into Balance. It's not quite what my normal pieces entail so I went into it with a definite plan. I was worried about a dramatic monologue would be too dry but adding in the memories and some humor lightened it up and kept it from being too 'woe is me'. Thank you so much for leaving a review, I haven't had many yet in the new system so it was like, Oh, yay, score!! when I saw this one.
  5. Merry Christmas Bob. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

    Story

As I have been moving anthologies over here and there I have been sucked in from my scanning a story to slowing down and really reading it. This was one of them and it really moved me to leave a review right away. This was an excellent story, one that really wrenched the heart and speaks volumes more than the words you wrote. Thanks for a great read.
  7. You are actually looking for my story, Bonds Unbroken. It's now in GA Stories under my name or you can find it through the stories tab on my profile. Because I'm flattered you wanted to read it enough to post a topic looking for it, I'll link you. Just click here to go straight to the story page. Oh, I hope to have the next chapter up either by the Monday after Christmas at the latest so check back for updates soon if you finish what is posted already!
  8. I'm glad that you are hopefully going to be on the upswing from this now dear.
  9. Jeezus! Put on a dang shirt. You'll catch cold. Also, eat some cake or something! Sheesh, crazy smoker!

    Chapter 8

Yay! I am so glad you liked it. It's definitely getting to the nitty gritty. I have the next chapter written, it just has to be edited and then I have to find time to actually post it. I hope to post by the Monday after Christmas at the latest! Hold on til then! As always, thanks sooo much for the review!

    Chapter 6

I'm not known for being especially nice to my characters over the course of a story though things usually end up alright. I say usually because that's all a matter of perspective I guess. Thanks for reading and leaving a review!
  12. Okay, I did see the end coming in some ways, but then I've read the Dark Hunter books by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Your portrayal of a person locked in an image just waiting to be freed by/for sexual gratification is one she used in her very first book in that series. Plus the images were just too 'convenient' to not have some sort of paranormal twist. I have to say you certainly have a way of making a story entirely about sex but making the message be so much more. I loved it.
  13. Well you will need to get over that! Your stories, what I've read of them, admittedly not as much as I'd like (darn GA Stories keeping me busy) are great! I hope you make the transfer over to the new system and start getting to know everyone. GA is a great place to get feedback, grow as a writer and also meet a ton of great online people! Welcome!!! Edited to add; *Good lords, how many times did I just use the word great? Note to self *use thesaurus* and less caffeine at this time of night!*
  14. Woah Woah Woah Vic! Do not try to get me in trouble! I said nothing about him being 30 He's only 29, however facing this last year is almost as bad as facing 30 next year I think. : The age just keeps on coming And you can't kill me for saying that Linxe cause I'm 4 months older than you!!
  15. I know you would rather we all ignore this but nope... I'm not gonna let that happen.
  16. The Carthera are a violent race, never failing to respond to battle, they nevertheless are a proud and honorable people. Except for the ferals. Battles for territory, fighting persecution from the humans, for the right to rule, have echoed down through the ages. In these modern times things are different, easier. Laws are made--and enforced--and peace, of a sorts, is possible. Some seek to end that.

    Chapter 19

Since Dane and Tap were driving up to Districts alone Tap decided to leave much earlier than the team would. He had been concerned that the traveling would be a bit hard on Dane and wanted to be able to stop frequently if they needed to. The sky was barely lightening when they got up to leave but the slight coolness was welcome before the sultry heat of the day would hit. They hit a fast food drive-thru for breakfast before they hit the ramp for the interstate and headed out of town. They di

    Chapter 18

Charlie moved quickly into the living room and noticed the jackets that lay over the arm of the couch. He silently moved to the bathroom and nudged the door the rest of the way open. The shower curtain was open and there were clothes strewn on the floor. The door to the spare bedroom was open and the room empty but the door to Dane's bedroom was shut. Charlie slowly turned the handle and then pushed the door open quickly. The small room was lit by the light shining in from one of the outside

    Chapter 17

Dane spent the time Tap was in practice at the library. He had managed to stay caught up with his assignments and the teachers agreed to let him take his make-up tests in the library after school while he was waiting for Tap so it actually worked out really well. The library was close to the locker rooms so Dane saw the team coming off the field and down for showers. He packed his books up into his backpack and slowly made his way out of the building over to Tap's car. He was moving slow enough

    Chapter 16

"What's so funny guys?" Charlie had one eyebrow raised as he looked at the pair on the couch who were still snickering. A smile snuck across his face as he looked at the teenage boys snickering on the couch. It was good to see them laughing. "Dane's a bitch." Tap gasped out, trying to stop laughing. "Hey!" Dane threw his spoon at Tap. "Hey yourself! Don't get soup stains on the new furniture. What are you, some type of heathen?" Tap put the spoon in his bowl and picked up the other d

    Chapter 15

Dane woke up feeling good on Wednesday morning, even with the pain in his body. Mrs. E hadn’t been able to stop by but she had called letting him know the judge agreed and Dane was now a legally emancipated adult. A call that morning from Mr. Echels let them know he had contacted the building manager and set up a ground floor apartment for Dane downtown. Dr. Wickels announced that Laurelai was pleased with the progress Dane had made with his mobility and he was being released. Thursday was going

    Chapter 14

When Dane woke up Tap was waiting in his room with a sunny smile and a muffin in a paper bag sitting on the bedside table. "Hey sleepyhead. Finally decided to join the land of the living?" Dane nodded, grimacing when he took a drink of the warm water in his cup. Tap got up and refilled his cup with some cold water. Dane took a sip and cleared his throat, washing away the last bit of scratchiness leftover from his crying jag earlier. He didn't want to talk about that so he gave a simple yeah

    Chapter 13

Alan Kendricks sat slumped in his armchair in his living room, empty beer bottles lying around him. The air in the house was stale, the stale tang of hops overcoming the smell of burned microwave food. It was 11 pm and the news was on though he wasn't paying attention to it at all. Normally he would have been in bed at this hour but it's not like he had work the next day. That had been a fun interview when he got out of jail. He had gone home, cleaned up fully in the privacy of his own bathr

    Chapter 12

Dane's head fell back against the thin flat pillow that lay on the mattress behind him. It was a good thing his bed was inclined so that he could sit up; he was so shocked that he would have fallen backwards had it not been right there. Dane’s mouth was wide open as he watched Tap gently lick his lower lip and lazily open his eyes. Tap sensually sucked in his bottom lip for a moment as he stared. It looked almost as if he was savoring the taste of some succulent fruit before smiling languidly at

    Chapter 11

Dane was lying in his bed anxiously pleating the sheet as he thought about what Neri had said. He had really jumped to conclusions when he lost his temper. It had been a good day and he really appreciated Tap spending his spare time in the hospital visiting him, because face it, it was boring. Dane kept falling asleep but each time he woke up Tap would just smile at him and they'd talk some more. But all day Dane had been waiting for Tap to bring up the whole gay thing. He had figured he'd h
