  1. As Myr said, the friends list was axed by the software developer. This won't come back at any point. You can follow other members, but please be aware that will affect your notifications from that person's site activity. Make sure you have gone into your site notifications to check/change how you receive information so you don't get inundated with information you don't want.
  2. As Graeme said, we're trying to keep the questions and bug notifications to a single topic, and Gene addressed the OP's comments, so I am going to lock this topic. Thank you.
  3. Best Size for Profile Banner/Promoted Author Banner: 848x121 **Please be aware of the profile name and information that appears on the left side of the banner area. We don't have an exact size to create a buffer zone, but you can easily see, if you check my profile banner, how that appears on an updated banner. **Promoted authors may change the banners on each story from the default Author banner they have on their profile above their author bio and on the Author tab. We are going to work with promoted authors, as much as possible, to correct the distortion of their smaller author banner to either make them larger or create new ones, but that won't occur until after we're finished with all the technical aspects of the upgrade and ironed out bugs.

    Mine! Part Two Chapter Ten

We lapsed into silence. I was scared I said too much, but Ritch was focused on driving. We left the freeway a few miles back the way we’d come, but now we were heading into hills. I folded up the map and tucked it between the seats. I rolled down the window and leaned back in my seat. The air was scented with sunshine, warm dirt, and the scent of living things. It relaxed me. We turned off the main road and gravel crunched under the tires. Ritch dropped back so we could avoid the cloud of dust
  7. “That was as much for me as it was for you.” I wanted to smack myself the second the words left my mouth. Ritch frowned and glanced at me before focusing back on the road. “What do you mean?” How could I save this? I was tired, injured, and clearly shooting my mouth off when I should just be quiet. “My senses are sharp. I’ve spent a lot of time alone for the last few years. Whenever I’m around other people, it’s hard to relax. Deke says I’m hypervigilant. If you’re unable to sleep, I’m unable

  9. Okay, so every once in a while I pick a story that falls in my preferred reading wheelhouse, and science fiction is a definite favorite. This month the CSR feature is going to be a story I haven't had a chance to finish, but I will! It's a bit longer than a lot of our CSR features, but you have a good amount of time to finish it since the Discussion day won't be until Monday, March 27th. Crave by LitLover Length: 75,896 Description: Crave: Feel a powerful desire for (something). Some cravings you just can't fight. A Reader Said: BRAVO!! You wrote an excellent story. I love stories like this. It satisfied by sci fi side, the romantic in me and oh my ....vampires. Crave is on my re-read list. and a sequel would be much appreciated. ~ LadyDe Remember, this month's Discussion day will take place on Monday, March 27th!

    Part Two Chapter Eight

I wanted to take the time to stop Ritch, to reassure him none of this was his fault, but I didn’t want that fucker alone in the car thinking he could try something. We had the most room, so he was tied up prone in the backseat, and that meant personal conversations were out. “We’ll talk later.” I went around to the passenger door. Pain stabbed through my wrists when I opened the door, but I hissed when I tried to buckle my seatbelt. Ritch took it from me. It clicked, and he settled the strap ac

    Sorry To Hurt You

If talking didn't work, try what you did here. Write your mom a letter. Do it long-hand, wait overnight, read it again (and make changes if needed) and then mail it. Ask her to write back if she needs some time to be able to marshal her thoughts and think it out on paper. It's less immediate and gives you more time to really share what you feel/need to say and for her/you to absorb that without having an immediate need to respond, which can lead to emotional responses that don't go well. I will say, having done hospice care as a medical professional, and facing it with a family member in the past, that this is one of the hardest things families face. It tears apart siblings, spouses, parents and kids... because it's so hard to absorb all the emotions and hardship that comes from taking care of someone you know you're about to lose as well as live a 'normal' life. Death is consuming for those being left behind, especially if it's a long process. Know that your feelings aren't "wrong" even if you don't understand them fully or feel guilty because they seem selfish. You feel what you feel, so you shouldn't focus on not feeling that way to avoid hurting your mom.
  12. February has come and gone, and just where did the time go? I have no idea, personally. It feels like Christmas ended just yesterday. Hopefully you avoided the cold (or heat) outside and took advantage of some downtime to read one, or more, of Myr's Harry Potter fanfiction short stories that were featured at the start of the month. Check out my interview with Myr, and make sure you share your thoughts in the comments. Describe your perfect writing space. My perfect writing space is someplace quiet that is otherwise isolated from distractions. My mancave would be a great example. I even have a proper Harry Potter inspirational poster
  13. Renee is out and about slacking off in the snow. Okay, okay... she got snowed in and has a legit reason not to be able to do the prompts today. Hmm, that's almost like a prompt itself. LOL Anyway, that's why they're out a bit late and by me instead. I shall endeavor to get the post right today for your flash fiction inspiration! So, what do we have this week? Two creative prompts with some serious emotional implications! Who wants to write some drama and angst? Prompt 560 – Creative Tag – First Line I’ll never, ever, forgive you! Prompt 561 – Creative Tag – New Year The New Year has barely begun, but you wonder if it will get better. What happened? This week we had one taker each for prompts #558 and #559. See what fun Sasha and Hudson created for your reading enjoyment: Eggs by Sasha Distan “What do you mean, you’re pregnant?” “Could you keep your fucking voice down Shindae?” Atoki snapped at the fire demon, anger flashing across his features. Behind him, his mate snarled low, curling up tighter in the big hearth which took up an entire wall of their bedroom. “Shit it!” “Guys, I’m seriously confused now. Help a guy out?” Prompt #559 by Hudson Bartholomew I am a creature of the night. I mean, I’m not a vampire or anything. I just really like the night. It’s quiet. Everyone’s gone to bed, and I’m all alone in the world. There’s no need to talk to anyone because there’s no one around to talk to. Perfect. One of my favorite things to do at night is to drive out into the vast wilderness that lies beyond the boundaries of my small town. There are turnoffs from the main two-lane highway onto little gravel roads that end in makeshift parking lots. During the day, there are always some cars parked there as people hike in the woods. At night, the lots are empty and all mine.
  14. Hey, even big, bad betas fear their moms! We can be evil, evil people. Plus he's probably afraid she'd swoop in, save the day, and then what would he do? LOL
  15. War is rarely a straightforward proposition, and this is definitely a supreme struggle. Park is a protector, so Ritch's reaction is definitely going to be hard on him.
  16. Thank you! Glad I could make you smile.
  17. LOL!!! I knew that line would make some people chuckle.
  18. The story was crying for some action! As for the alpha... well, that's all to come!
  19. LOL! Hunter mode is a feral state where he'd be extremely dangerous and not quite there, which is why he fought it. Remember Kraig's brush with it in Part One?
  20. Yep! The muscle and action, though he has a brain and uses it too. Definitely a good second-in-command.
  21. So cruel, so, so cruel.
  22. Yes, I am cruel! It makes life fun... for me. For my characters? Not so much.
  23. Mark Arbour's story, Odyssey, was Monday's Signature Feature. Did you grab your copy of the signature banner so you can share your love for Mark's story? If not, you can do that here! Today we're featuring a great excerpt from the story that shares Mark's great ability to create a vivid world for Mark's main character in the series, George Granger, to explore. Why did Mark pick this story to feature? Mark says: My favorite story is: Odyssey, from the Bridgemont series. I'm really proud of that one because of all the meticulous research I had to do, and how carefully I had to plot out the timeline. I had to get my hero from England, around the world via Indonesia and India, and to Egypt in time for the Battle of the Nile, all of this in 1798. I know CAP is more popular, but that story is my best effort Want to read more? Check out the rest of the story here!

    Mine! Part Two Chapter 7

“What are you doing here?” The tiger’s eyes were dull, and he shook his head. Was he stupid, foolhardy, or did I deprive a few too many brain cells of oxygen? Surrounded by a half-circle of werekin and with me in his face… he was in a no-win scenario. Maybe he needed a little encouragement. “I’m told you work for Trein. Do his dirty work. That true?” The tiger stared at me, and I growled. “You broke in here and tried to hurt me, or kill me, and do who knows what to Ritch. Because of you, I’m g
  25. One of many readers' favorite stories, as well as Mark's, this month's feature is Odyssey, Book 6 in the Bridgemont series featuring the adventures of Sir George Granger as he tries to voyage to the West Indies. Have you read it yet? Length: 406,283 Description: It is April, 1797, and England is still celebrating the victory at the Battle of St. Vincent. Sir George Granger is given orders to set off on a voyage to the East Indies, but there are several challenges that await him before he can even sail. Some great story reviews: Miles Long says: Spectacular story in an equally spectacular series. Tip of the hat to you Mark Arbour for your excellent work and thanks to you and your team for bringing it to life. Sandrewn says: Mark, this is by far my favourite story in GA. I hope you continue with Grangers' adventures when the Odyssey comes to an end, as all good thing must. Thank you for the all hours of enjoyment you have given to me and I'm sure the many more than just the 93 who admitted it did. Rolfe45 says: Amazing work, Mr. Arbour! I have thoroughly enjoyed the Bridgemont saga. I truly hope you intend to continue this saga. I'm not sure how I'd survive without the escape which reading the Bridgemont & CAP sagas provides. GWood says: Mark, many thanks to you for your writing and to your editors/beta readers for their efforts, too. We are truly blessed at having your writings on this site. Entertaining, suspenseful, exotic and erotic. Truly looking forward to your next installment (and your continuation of 9.11). Many thanks again. Remember to check back on Wednesday to see what excerpt Mark chose to share with readers! Want to show your support and enjoyment of Mark's story? Download the banner below for your site signature!
