  1. Can someone give me hot chocolate with chocolate whipped cream, please?
  2. Trevor, In the next chapter you will learn the fate of the some of the other five, you can extrapolate what the others got - basically they all got about the same. As for Jordan - there will be an epilogue, a real epilogue this time that will deal with the aftermath of the verdict. If Jordan is guilty it will be his sentencing, if he's not guilty, it'll show how everyone deals with it. Andy
  3. Well, I suppose that might work, but then of course he'd be outing jason which I'm not sure would do wonders for their relationship - but yeah, I think that is one way thing could have shook out
  4. Dann, if I told you before, it is confirmed, I am not announcing it on line - I don't want an online record of her name - for privacy reasons, so in public it's Baby Q, in private I'll tell folks. As for Steph, the surrogate - she is an amazingly lady - I post a bit on the day on a blog entry - but I'll post a bit here since you asked nicely. We were told we'd be in the hospital two days, So with Baby Q born at 8:40 pm Wednesday night, we were told Thursday morning we'd be discharged on Saturday - tomorrow. About 1 pm yesterday they said do you want to go home today - Hell yeah - I wanted to get home as soon as we could. So we spent most of the afternoon with Steph, - we would have done it anyway if she wasn't with her family, but we made sure she got as much time as she could/wanted with Baby Q. We fully intend - both sides - to keep in contact so that she and Baby Q have a relationship of some kind so when Baby Q wants to know who her mom is she will already know her. Thanks Uncle Sam Thanks Joey
  5. Yeah good catch, Peter has brown eyes, Jason blue - I go fix it as soon as I get a moment. Thanks Trevor.
  6. WOW! Y'all blow me away sometimes. Thank you all - Am happy to report Baby Q is doing extremely well, they discharged us in less than a day when the standard is 48 hours. She is eating well, sleeping well and sadly for us, pooping and peeing very well. I won't say we're sleeping through the night, but she is not being overly fussy so we are able to nap here and there. The family is here so there are plenty of hands to let Mike and I get a break and some sleep. She has these amazing blue/grey/ steel eyes and every time I hold her she looks up and stares are me. I don't have a heart left, it's melted away already. I'm trying to post a picture, but the site won't let me upload it. I'll try again after I go get food with my mom. Thanks again for all the well wishes here and on my profile. Andy
  7. Okay, I admit to be a bit daft right bow, can some one point me in the right direction of where to go? Otherwise, I might spend all month looking. Jet lag is not helping with my getting sleep before baby arrives. LOL
  8. If I volunteer, can I get a share of the money??

    Chapter 1

well you live up to your screen name with all the unanswered questions you have Thanks for the review, I appreciate hearing from people. As you probably know, I'm going to be a bit slow for a bit going forward. because of the impending arrival of our daughter - that said, I do hope to get back to this, with this short story being something of a prologue to the main story. I'll just have to see what story inspires me next. Thanks again. Andy
  10. Wayne, Okay, so yeah I agree your boss/company is a prick. But I think you did the right thing, ask for different leave. IF they deny it, take your couple days here and there, then request off the first week after the blackout and keep doing it until you get it. Then use the money for your travel and invite your friend to come up to see you. Just because you can't go to the mountain, why not bring the mountain to you? Just a thought Sorry for your crazy crap, but this too shall pass.
  11. HAHA, I don't know that I can yell that loud, but I can email I'll leave the yelling for everyone else. Andy

  15. Happy Birthday Steve!!!! Glad Paya alerted us to this momentous day - Would be sad if I missed it.
  16. Thanks, Trebs, I'm hoping to prove you right Since I'm not so much into praying, good energy is just my style Thanks Nephy. No, thank you Bob, you and all the other folks here have always given me words of encouragement so I thank you and everyone else. I keep saying she won't wrap ME around her finger, thinkng if I say it enough it will come true, but in the end I know I'm doomed, she will no doubt rule the roost for many years to come Haha, I wish Vic, mom's health is not what it could be, so I'll be the one to get up, BUT them getting the place and from what I hear it is very nice - is a huge help to Mike and I. Thanks for the well wishes Thanks JC - now you know what it's gonna be like - sorta - when you do this EWWWW - I think I'm gonna pace the waiting room and stay out of the way - yup that's what I'm gonna do. Bet on it . Pictures? Oh my dear friends, you SO have the wrong person for that. I am the WORST at taking pictures and even worser if that could be possible at up loading and posting them. But I'm going to try and be better - promise.
  17. Happy Birthday Audi!!!! Hope it's a great day. Sorry I don't have any great cat pictures to add, so how about this???
  18. Welcome Fontaine - shameless Domaholic eh? Well at least we know you have good taste. Enjoy yourself. - Andy Nephy - you know what they say about saving the best for last. personally I think that's rubbish but I'm too afraid of you to say it to your face.
  19. Louis, I think you do a service to all aspiring authors with this topic. Show don't tell is one of the biggest criticisms editors/teachers/even readers have with most writing. Describing body language as a means of conveying emotions and situations and character is much better than telling us what you want us to think about your characters. It also helps keep them in character so to speak. Using your example, if you tell us the man commands authority, but he's slouchy, round shouldered and concave in the middle as you put it - the image doesn't match the telling and we lose the ability to picture the character as cleanly as if we keep him and his actions consistent. So if you post it, we will read it - or at least I will when time permits
  20. Even though I've spoken to you before, if you took the time to say 'Hi" I'll take the time to say 'Welcome' . Hope you're enjoying yourself.
  21. Golly [trying to practice child friendly language] it's been over a year since I started this blog - a few of the posts were lost when yours truly had a bit of a snit of nothing - but I started to detail this last August I think. Well here we are, last entry in this phase. After this it will a new Category to detail life as a dad. Can't tell you how excited I am. Today my co-worker who had twins about 12 weeks ago, came in with the babies, she had a boy and a girl. Claire was quickly stuffed in my arms - maybe to see if I had what it takes. OMG - now I've held babies before - lots, but today felt a bit different, it was almost like a trial run. I'm happy to report that fussy baby started to coo and smile when I was holding her. Hopefully my daughter is just as happy to be around me. My status among the ladies in the office went up a few notches when they realized I wasn't going to drop my daughter and that I had in fact taken Newborn Infant Care classes and knew how properly to hold the child. Tuesday was the last OBGYN visit for Step [the surrogate sounds so impersonal]. Basically she's not dilating no clue why that's good or bad - but what I did understand was my daughter is in no rush to meet her daddies. So they are going to induce labor on Wednesday morning at 12:30 am Pacific standard time. Okay so twelve freaking thirty? what's up with that? They couldn't do it at a nice reasonable hour like 6 am? I mean it's not like we have days and days ahead of us to catch up on sleep. So in the infinite wisdom of hospitals, they are going to keep us up all night before she arrives, just so we can stay up all night for the next six weeks. Wonderful. So this weekend we're leaving for CA. My parents - over excited people that they are, have rented a condo on the beach for a month so they can 'host' us when she is released from the hospital while we give her a week to catch her breathe before we fly her home. I'm told the place is nice. Not sure I care, they are saving us a hotel cost for 8 or 9 days, it's perfect for us. Washer/dryer, kitchen, two bathrooms, mom to cook for us, how much better does it get? Okay so I plan to get a website up - yeah right - for pictures - I'm not much of a face book person - and I'll be sure to let folks who want to see know how to get there. Thanks for all the nice comments and support along the way. Spring Training is over, time for the season to begin in earnest Andy (Soon I can change my member title from baby daddy to be - to - Baby Daddy )
  22. Welcome Stoney, yeah most folks are nice - I'm not and don't let anyone tell you I am cause it ain't true - but enjoy yourself. now if Only I could get my other half to join hmmmm
  23. Chapter 20 is up. You can find it here: https://www.gayauthors.org/story/Quonus10/purpose/20 I don't think I left you on any cliffs this time - that was on 'purpose' as this will be the last chapter for a few weeks. I will be taking care of my life's dream - my daughter - and I don't want to do too much while I get into a routine. Please stop by and let me know - I'll try to answer things - heck she'll be sleeping a lot so I can sneak on here and there. Andy
  24. Nick? No reason, I like the name - was my grandfather's. I envision a much longer story, but I don't envision the time to write it. I have the basic idea in my head, but with all that I have happening, I am not sure I will get to this any time soon. But who knows. Thanks for reading and letting me know. Andy
  25. Dave, Hmm, I suppose you are right about the summary. Problem is as I've said - length. The short story is going to top 30K as it is and people are wondering where's the rest LOL Then again, maybe, I'm not cut out to do court room drama stories, I find a lot of it boring so I gloss over things. You are obviously not the first to wonder where's the rest of the story. Sorry.
