Sorry for your employment break and hopefully the timing at the end of the year doesn’t create extra delays in your pursuits for permanent employment. I didn’t read the original story so my comments are strictly from this storyline created here. I love the storyline. The unique vampire world and the rules flow logically and make this hidden society most intriguing. The mysterious circumstances and uniquenesses surrounding Greg are fantastic as it really is hard to know just what may pop up next. George gives hints of knowing more concerning Greg and his uniqueness. I since concerns for Greg’s future and/or the need for Greg to have time to grow into his being; to absorb the knowledge of Dracul. It George is withholding or perhaps working at higher levels to prepare for things to come. Either way, George has show a vested interest in Greg’s future. Yup, I assure you he has turned eight…long ago as a human man/child would say! Haha But seriously you weasel Viscount, I’m only a few weeks turned.

Oh my, with a start like this how could it not hold interest. Congratulations, @Palantir, this brings us right back to the companionship fold with the same mystery and excitement only Widderkin offers. I’m so happy for you to be able to share this continuing story of the companions and the Realms, and happy for us that we once again enjoy this wonderful story.

That’s a pretty big incentive for a tight knit group. With the many business resources now coming into play, I can’t see where the normal pursuit of the rat race will separate this group; so again, a normal divergence is not as likely, fueling an enduring friendship beyond what many see happening with careers, families, and loss of contact. Heck, many of their parents are already tied in so that keeps the close knit strong too…is this SimCity Vampire State? Hahaha 🤣

That’s a twist from some other vampire worlds, but no, I’m thinking of it as their story will continue without the pains and suffering, and without their close friends. It’s loss beyond your control, yet you’ll know that you’ll renew. The friends will only know it’s a final farewell.

Yeah, jocks would do anything to bench press >700#; joking aside, the bond may draw them in as they realize that age will separate them as they are now different, especially as they would have to witness this as time slowly claims them.

Perhaps…perhaps not, let the story and characters guide you. If they return to the original storyline then fine, but don’t force it. If they take you elsewhere, then perhaps that is the real reason why you were inspired to rewrite; that itch may not be fully understood until it manifests in a smile of pride, whichever path. May your mind and hand become one in this journey! 😛

As was very young though, and very groggy, so I’m not sure that’s the classic sleep walking, as I was somewhat aware but just not fully alert.

With the father’s close ties to crime, perhaps the position change by the ADA is an indicator of the reach his father has ties to. The father did find out about the fraud and the new license application rather quickly. Someone with immediate access being on the dole is not too far fetched; we all know the systems don’t often update for public search engines until days or even weeks later. Likewise, the arrogance of which the father committed the crimes in Florida, is as if he figures his bases are somewhat covered.

Likewise, he says at nearly six years of age things changed and they moved, yet later reflected on not fitting in so far from where he grew up his first 4-1/2 years. Is this inconsistency part of the mystery of present or just an oversight in massaging out the story timeline? I’m looking forward to learning the answers to these mysteries already introduced so early in this story.
