Adding to mystery of Tyler’s heritage. It makes sense that Matt may be under some type of NDA. But as with any NDA, what or whom is it protecting, and who executed the instrument? We see repeatedly that the distinction of like your father vs like me/Tyson. Could it be that after many years served, that Matt received help from Tyson to win his release? Or does Tyson have more damaging info or evidence that Matt will not risk coming to light? Or is it simply the threat of the NDA itself? The brash and bold Brandon says what I think is very important to this little mystery: “What did he do?” “Apparently they were leaving a party out at Breaker’s Beach and the truck he was driving overturned and his passenger was crushed underneath.” “That really sucks,” Tyler said softly. “Why?” “You kill your friend and still wind up in jail,” Tyler said sympathetically. “Not really, he was hammered at the time and trying to outrun the cops,” Brandon disagreed as he shook his head. “If he would’ve stopped at the checkpoint the accident never would have happened.” Why was there a roadblock in the first place? Simple and random policing action, or was there a net set to catch a wanted person of interest or a kidnapping/underaged victim? Highschool is very awkward, for teens and the laws trying to navigate youth from childhood protections to more adult accountability; yet a single group within a single car may cross those boundaries in multiple ways. Some jurisdictions have floating age differences rules written within their laws to avoid penalties to youth of very little age difference between them, from being treated differently for the same incident/violations involved. Yet, I doubt that will be or was the case here.

No doubt this social event has given Carlos a good dose of what Gael felt when Natalie showed up. In some ways you want to smile that he gets a good dose of what you think he could have prevented, that he had a choice that could have given him and Gael a chance at a different life; disclosing Natalie far earlier earlier and by not fathering, a child with his father imposed mistress. Ian proves yet again that not only is he rich, but he likes to play God and to gloat over others. One would have thought he would have been satisfied that he had everybody in positions as wanted, but that was not enough for Ian. He goads Alex and Natalie into the conversation that reaffirms his control over at least Alex, but it hints of control over Natalie too. Gael showing up in person and unescorted put even Ian in an unexpected position. While Ian would have preferred Gael be lead around on a leash, Gael showing up unescorted and defiant under multiple verbal attacks seems to highlight that not all of Ian‘s plans are as predictable as King Ian had decreed. Ian’s thought that Natalie was playing her part well makes one wonder whether Ian has her under his influence also, or weather he’s just reflecting upon her as a daughter-in-law, the former appears to have a stronger position from observing this interaction. Natalie‘s cousin Alex was not given a chance to address his marriage to Gael prior to Ian‘s gleeful chance to demonstrate his control over others. The setting has Natalie and Carlos having just returned, and as Natalie‘s cousin Alex seems to would have had limited opportunities prior to this gathering to discuss his own life. But it is rather strange that Ian would position the so-called murderer of his grandchild to be so grandly introduced as the mother of his grandchild’s cousin by law. It appears Ian has far too many within his clutches. Even Amanda seems to have been caught unsuspecting; either that or she played her part very well. I look forward to seeing just exactly how @vanalasplans to sort out all these hand grenades that seem to be hidden within the story. Just my personal observation, both Carlos and Gael are in similar situations. While Carlos conceded to Ian‘s manipulations, the Gael resisted to unexpected levels, neither has been free in their choices as they were still heavily coerced. Less clear is just exactly how Alex fits into Ian‘s manipulations; is it his hope that he can win Gael’s heart or is it conspiracy to bring down the all powerful and homophobic Ian?

The internet has made life virtual, faux life. We used to have fantasies of our own makings, but something that also let us think through our own life choices; not something re-imagined in virtual reality and loaded in a virtual bedroom. We didn’t have chat windows, we had chats out under the school oak or down by the park. Far too many have lost themselves to virtual reality that seems to me is a virtual Soap Opera meets virtual Porn. 🤷‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️

Gael has suffered two months of beatings and malnutrition, no doubt suffering delusions and unable to discern normality. Yet, it appears Alex is playing to Ian’s directing at this time. However, it makes me think there is much more at play beyond this captive hell Gael has endured. How much is real and how much may be for Ian to witness to his satisfaction? Why would Alex be so worn? Why did it take this long to win what was supposed to be a hard fought bargain for release? We are still lacking the continuing storylines from others and away from Ian’s watchful eyes. I suspect Gael will not find relief or understanding until it is absolutely safe to to do so; I believe more lives are at stake than Gael’s.

Well I can’t say that I have a good feeling for where this story is going just yet, as it’s still developing, but it does promise an interesting dynamic between Miguel and Christian. Now just a little tongue in cheek poke at the author for leaving us hanging with an Evel Knievel cliff dive on his previous story posting. Yes it’s a repeat from chapter 8 of where love lies, but for those that were too shocked to go back and visit that ending, I’ll post it again here as this story is referenced also. Ahh yes, the Argentinians of unknown ….well, many unknowns, but should they find interest, and should they have a current research, numbers, and intent, they could suddenly become rather problematic, influential, or a significant ally. The uncertainties of allegiance within the organizations is very problematic, as you’ve pointed out, they are highly intelligent, and essentially spies of high capabilities embedded within the organizations that would tend to entrust. How aligned to local German heritage and allegiance versus the possible allegiances towards the fatherland and their very origins. These considerations are far more involved than I had considered, as I was more of mind that the Norwegians would essentially be seeking protected asylum, without full conflict becoming a real consideration; after all, these programs have prided themselves with advances thus far in anonymity, while quietly embedding within political and business positions of power and control. Is it close to the time of action, or will the timelines be accelerated due to risk of exposure that spoils the element of surprise?

I somehow fell behind on my reading, so at the end of chapter 10, my thoughts held to the notion that such an alliance might be in play. The separation of the captives did leave questions as to the true intentions of these captors. what a wonderful surprise to find that they actually want to have the Norwegian’s join in alliance. Even more surprising is that the North American numbers rival the European numbers. It seems much work is still needed for the Norwegians to recruit and persuade from their European ranks. Hopefully the North Americans have a good Intel network and have good tracking on any of the hardline to Europeans that may already be in the North American region. Hopefully the hardline European’s strategy allows time for fortification of the North American-Norwegian alliance. for me, it was a chapter 10 in chapter 11 read, so a great addition to the story. I look forward to this next installment.
