Following the action of the previous chapters we see a lot happening in building relationships; both personal and in the geopolitical community. The Electric Panda finds it near shocking that the inter-bear seems to be desiring...speed?, a puppy?, hmmm 🤔, A MATE! Such talk is difficult to express, as demonstrated here, it is quite a mouthful. It’s all ok, as the Beta Wolf too, finds it a mouthful, but at least neither were traumatized or left with a bitter taste from their efforts. Geopolitically, why would an Alpha make a move to take over territory so far from home? Flag on that play until the rules of the game are discussed and proper sportsmanship is assured. The diplomatic maneuvers to include a closet mobster in the territory grant is perhaps necessary, but the weight of (or from) the shadows for Stuerm should be an interesting measure for sure; shall he gain lands or will he lose lands in the end? As comforting as the notion of Beta and Delta providing pack leadership is, it has a history of pressures making the desired request needed. Could it be that a new alliance and mutual aid agreement is starting to form? Power to the people, as Vinsy might desire, but with traditionalists kept at bay by shared deterrence; take note Stuerm, it applies to you especially. Hmmm 🤔, it still lingers as to why the EC was so quick to process this award in emergency council, yet the previous request was laying dormant. Oh Ty, how will he handle retirement, made with love? 😝 Especially when the quality controller is a vicious, clawing (with ferocity) big bad puddy tat...MATE; he may want the new territory after all! 🤪 Perhaps the more sleepy and tame relationship Dave has shall be his envy....nah, but yes Stacy you can sleep here. @astone2292, think in the shadows, write in the shadows, but please give us more Rising in the Shadows!

Ironically, they probably should have called the bluff on Mrs Jameson and called the police themselves. Then Leah could have been placed in emergency foster care with Michael at the Gordon’s as no social worker is going to take two kids out of the loving home where one has already shown healthy improvements in school, work, social and home life. The question of Ethan being there could be solved with Ethan returning to Jonathan’s, allowing the time and separation required for social services to investigate the solution; Michael is old enough that it’s very unlikely to be forced to return to a place he is likely to leave, putting him at risks while at large. The Jameson’s played as if having the upper hand, but they actually put themselves at risk for a difficult path to recovery from; each relapse is a failure to demonstrate acceptability, and most have the subjectivity on their sides with failure to provide a safe environment from the problem behavior. @headtransplant, You brought the cruel side of family social dysfunction to the forefront, but kept it at an acceptable level to not loose your storyline with multiple and divergent character chasing; nicely done!

My oh my, a star is born...at least a Prince Protector and Lord of Sunshine It’s so ironic that Malicious Mallex could so violently and ruthlessly dole out his torture and punishment, yet in the end, he had to accept that he never had, and he could not own the very possession he so desired; that his ruthlessness should be returned by those he most victimized with his own flawed character. So that Malicious Mallex becomes Maliciously Maligned Mallex, being burned in rejection then shredded by a beast even Anders knew better than to tackle himself. Wow, the heat was definitely brought to bear, or should that be better applied as bare? So much heat and passion that the fear of gifts bursting beyond containment should have warnings issued for solar flares in Camp Kalian. Hmmm, the little lord prince has the Beast tamed and doing new tricks, in the near presence of his boss and mentor; impressive indeed, the powers over others this shy young lord has captured. No wonder that he brings together a band of warriors hoping for good to prevail. Now more than ever, the secrets of Kalian’s powers need to be revealed. It seems the ancient books and magiks hold the secrets, but the powers of the two princes, one of dark, another of light, may be the key if they can just decipher where and how to access the locks. @Demiurge, what an exciting roller coaster of suspense, thriller, sci-fi, romance, etc. Wow 😳 please keep this story going, we’ll definitely need some closure, or we’ll need medical help with depression. Fantastic chapter and journey thus far!

@Demiurgeyour words “Next chapter is going to be mostly sunshine and rainbows because I am emotionally tired,” give me comfort. As @drpaladincalls him the Master of Sunshine ☀️, Wren says Golden Boy, and of course Talon just says Sunshine; but this all supports that one could draw conclusions that the Lord Master of Sunshine will be the focus of this upcoming chapter. Likewise, the rainbow always has it’s own pail of gold, or hidden treasures; this also give me comfort that the sunshine, gold, and the end of the rainbow treasures implies that indeed Malicious Mallex will meet his “End” when the “Sunshine” comes out to color us a more cheerful day; worthy of “Snut” promised to relieve our emotional stresses endured these last few chapters. Perhaps too, Anika will share her end with her cherished Lex for which she lust; hmmm, is that lust of flesh, money, or power. It shouldn’t fall to Kalian to end her, but sister has proven a backstabbing, treasonous, bitxh, and an embarrassment to the Alauis name; either the current generations have failed the Alauis name, or has proven the House of Alauis unworthy of Kalian and his now faithful brother Eon. THANK YOU! hahahaha Another fantastic chapter despite the tough passages.

Queen Maregete laughed, “I was just about to give my approval.” Then Vincent and I told who did it. Both King Fredrik and Queen Maregete were applauded. “The problem is there was no crime,” King Fredrik groaned. Near the end of the chapter, did you mean: appalled vs applauded? When Thor develops his bark, may it strike fear in the way Thor’s Hammer strikes down those that dare challenge.

Oh my, a very crappy start to a relationship that manifest as obsessive and is rejected. The rich boy spoiled upbringing finds Marcos perplexed that anyone could deny his beauty and power; yet that power has caused him to display aggressive and possessive behavior over a young free spirit he now hopes to win over. This shows that Marcos lacks the social skills and grace that would have probably won Ramon’s attention with little effort. Now the struggle for their lives is the only remaining chance Marcos has to prove a budding love versus the unrestrained lust and aggressiveness that broke the law and the trust of the object of his affections; affections he so desperately needs for the first time in his life. Anthony seems to knows Marcos better than he knows himself. Hopefully, that phone call was just a challenge to hear Marcos admit what Anthony already knew; that Marcos was on the ship and standing up Anthony on their planned furnishing appointment. Marcus has a lot to redeem of himself, to prove deserving of the heart of our innocent and pure young champion of virtue. @vanalas, thank you for sharing yet another unique story of emotional curveballs and suspense.

😝 I love this storyline, as I’ve always had a similar approach. My neighbor boy came over to help me work on my old rusty trailer. The lugs were left installed too long without rotating tires or packing the wheel bearings; lugs that long installed would be harder to break free, maybe 400+ Ft-lbs torque on seized nuts. He is almost 12yo and weighs 76# and yet a 4-way lug wrench only provides a one foot torque lever; giving us 1ftx76lbs=76 young man ft-lbs. Explaining that the lugs would require possibly up to around 400ft-lbs torgue, I asked him what length pull handle would give him the 400ft-lbs if he stood on it or applied his full weight. So 400ft-lbs (torque required)= X foot (lever length required) x 76lbs (his full weight); he thought and approximated near a 6 foot pull handle. I handed him a fence post pipe and asked him to loosen the lugs while I rounded up grease and cleaning supplies. I really just wanted him to see that he had that ability and my trust in his math. I was still close enough as a safety observer but let him see his algebra applied. He told me he didn’t understand algebra yet as they only had covered an introduction in school. I then asked him what he called his problem solving??? I said I call it algebra! Hahaha 🤪 I love the lights coming on in the minds and eyes of our youth.

The fact that the Wilson’s Alphas, father and son, are not totally aware of the Stuerm risks is not unexpected but the networking is already working for them with much thanks to Vinsy and all is soon to be revealed or steered clear. Likewise, the similarities in the way Vinsy wants to approach leadership sounds a bit like what the Electric Panda has laid out there for the upcoming transition...more networking says Stuerm is out and so too may be the others, as the unseen brings Vinsy reservations but also seeing the effort of the Panda 🐼 transition may give the Power couple an opportunity to bring self governance and give member participation a boost. What new academic solution might the Hmmm 🤔, the things that make you say hmmm, the shy Panda 🐼 and bashful Wolf 🐺 are growing closer and closer; we’ve shed the jammies and only have the briefs 🩲 to stand as that last bit of modesty before coupling. Perplexing will be the cornucopia of sounds heard in testimony to that splendid event. .

Poor Wren, which sounds ironic in itself, has been betrayed in multiple ways; not only of and by the Royal Counsel but with agents acting against and from within his own order of the Verseckt. The deceit is deeply embedded with Anders appearing to be the general of this hostile force; but is he the force behind this movement or just the weapon of choice. The focus on controlling Kalian, and the threat Talon presents to that plan, has them so desperate as to threaten Kalian’s destruction for the larger goal(s). Wren must understand Kalian more than expressed openly, but beyond the personal betrayal for which he exacted revenge on the Verseckt betrayer for, I believe he eagerly awaits the awakening of the Golden Sunshine ☀️ Kalian has yet to unleash with focused determination; plenty for all of us to kill, but control your rage and emotions Kalian... It is beyond consideration that Malicious Mallex will impose his will upon Kalian. The defeat he promises to show Kalian will be his own; whether literally or in seeing his own forces crushed by the Little Lord of Sunshine that persists without property or family. The suspense is already a driving force for this chapter but @Demiurge, did you have to leave us without a crash cart to restart our hearts?

It’s somewhat funny to joke about the stereotype of the brother DNA being like the opposing poles of a singular magnet, but I find this situation begging of a kid not learning sharing and making friends. Aiden seems to have bonded not only in parental/child relationship with Seamus, but then he has also become possessive and unsharing of his very bestest friend Seamus. Aiden needs time to develop social skills and bonding outside of Matt and Seamus’ fultime/Funtime parental focus. Aiden is very smart but socially spoiled and underdeveloped as no daycare friends extend beyond that environment and time allowances, and no other friend relationships have been introduced. Aiden’s sharp little mind needs age relative friendships to broaden his mind and expand his imagination...beyond muus! What a temper-rat brat you’ve given life to @Mrsgnomie, but once the loud little mandrake is transplanted, it should flourish.

Hmmm, the journey has begun, but whose journey is it? Is it the journey Wren makes to reclaim is humanity? Is it the journey of Kalian’s band of rescuing misfits, to become more than the individuals they have become? Are is it the journey of Sunshine, our Golden Boy getting a giant step closer to understanding his own destiny? Kalian doesn’t know it yet, and Talon can’t yet understand it, but Kalian has apparently pulled Talon back, twice, from the big fade; if only he knew what he could be capable of and how to use it. Wren understands more than he says but then again his style seems to be one of observe and coach, and not to preach; but what a playbook he must have....yeah, it’s a trap....lol, but who’s? Noticeable too is that Talon refers to his special boy, Sunshine, without knowledge of who he is, but he then says “ it is them...but who is that?” Is “them” the band of misfits? Or could we be seeing the gathering of the ancient powers represented by the modern gifted players. The secrets of the books on the ancient powers has yet to revisit us yet. @demiurge, you’re outdoing yourself with even more suspense and danger...beyond Wren’s sharp white claws being near Eon’s nips and bits!

G is a psycho. This exercise doesn’t built trust in the team, the leadership, or even the individuals themselves. It’s all just mind fukn and very much undermines all that is really important. As Tyler says, Zeke WAS faithful and loyal to G’s plan, but then he now has distrust and is less likely to even repeat the same level of loyalty and will second guess missions for hidden agendas. Tyler is a smart cookie and I believe he is still in character for his own objective; perhaps to expose Zeke to the sad reality he already knows but hesitates to leave because of his commitment to ....the mission against the bad guys, not G. Likewise, he has made Zeke see him as a more capable and once back-briefed, Zeke will also see him as a more equal partner in his overall mission; not G’s. Tyler has focused his time with Zeke to better understand his crush. I believe Tyler is still committed to Zeke but in a way that can break him away from the caustic environment of G. Fantastic suspense and surprises for us @Littlelovestories,

Good grief, Andrea needs to respect her brother and especially as a guest in his house; I would have told her quickly that it’s my house and my life, you’re welcome to leave and if this persist you’ll need to leave. The full attack, 20 questions, and judgmental jabs were way over the line. Her personal life and her relationship is no excuse to disrespect someone else’s relationship. A peaceful balanced discussion may be acceptable but the host has ever right to stop it or ask the person to leave...NOW!

@headtransplantasks: Out of curiosity, do you think warnings are necessary at this point? I figure that readers who made it this far get the idea about the content, and I don't necessarily want to continue giving away what's going to happen before the chapter starts. But I still want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. Let me know your thoughts. *** just my 2 cents, and I’m not fully abreast any posting standards authors must comply with *** I would think the cover statement at the beginning of the story is fair warning, or if compelled, then put the same general statement on each chapter stating “Reader Beware; this STORY contains abuse and such content is central to the storyline and is inseparable in story content and it’s characters.” Then let the general statement ride independent of any particular chapter content; preserving storyline suspense without those pesky directional announcements.

Me smells a smelly wet dog has just run into the house to shake his environmental gifts for all to share; regardless how unwelcome. So the newly turned human Triple Affinity Shadow Mage, is born into his wolf as an Alpha and transforms hybrid all in a week. Now forced to fight a rogue Alpha that had no real claims to having pack territory, loses to Vinsy, within weeks of his turning. Now the EC has an emergency session to “decide” what to do with this new Alpha...ahem, I mean territorial dilemma. Ironic that the human Stacy was exposed to the supernatural, but from the point of view we witness that the council is more concerned to establish new precedent with awarding unclaimed territory. The territory without an Alpha requires EC governance either directly or by appointing a representative; not a desired task for the council I’m sure; so is it not convenient that the new all powerful Alpha Mate is now answerable directly to the council, when before pack law would provide some distance from the council? Hmmm 🤔, it seems an self initiated invitation to have added EC oversight and monitoring of this special Alpha. But now poor Vinsy has to hold council and review for all supernatural issues, challenges, and governance of his newly awarded Shadow Lands Pack Territory; Vinsy wanted to have a place for all to feel welcomed. As for the Alpha couple, they can now rest easy knowing that they have his and his doghouses/territories, for those chilly spousal days requiring extra space and bed arrangements. lol 😝 No, no, no, over here, you are the Alpha Mate. Hahaha 🤪 As the dust of this news settles, the counsel of Vinsy’s informal council of family, multi-pack friends, and general pack family will see to his success. @astone2292the suspense and excitement continues; your story is every bit as interesting and rewarding as it has been, very well done my man, congratulations again!

OMG, poor Eon; that has to be a roller coaster of shock, fright, paralysis, surprise,...and intrigue???? Hahaha Hmmm, Wren, Talon,...are the Verseckt all preordained to bird related names? Will the Verseckt emerge from the shadows to exact the pain deserved upon those daring to attack their order? Pale skin, red eyes,...is Wren more than a dungeon recluse? Albino? Wren prides himself on knowledge and is thought to be ancient..., so what does Wren already know of Kalian’s abilities and for that matter how does Talon fits into this lifetime event that seems born of prophecy. It almost seems as if Wren wants to personally be there for Talon, but not necessarily in the traditional sense, but rather to coach the emergence of the powers about to be born to our favorite young couple; likewise, he has to be there to protect Kalian anyway! Hahaha Dear Ole...ex-dad, formerly dad? Anyway, the dads have succeeded in giving Lex and Anita a major dose of the medicine forced upon Kalian; bravo to the dads screwing up so justly! Meanwhile, we’ll let @Demiurgereturn us to the more “hands on assistance” that Wren brings to this adventure!

Oh my. How is it that one can find themselves drafted into service even on GA? lol I laugh at the Mexican food dilemma with a bit a mirth as just recently I found the convenience of one ingredient that is difficult to stock for those cravings that so often come in sneak attacks; it is too frequent to be underripe or overripe when the spontaneity hits in surprise attack. I absolutely love tacos but do so wish I had the pepper garden we shared in Tucson; finding the perfect blend of dried ground peppers is an explosion of zesty flavors that makes the heart of the taco come alive. Some peppers provide a deeper roast flavor that’s perfect with beef, while others may provide just enough to not overpower the chicken or fish. It’s a balance light taste heat and darker roast flavor. So I have several containers of peppers I may blend to season the meat of selection for the taco build. If making it a night of Mexican cuisine, I recommend a pork and beef variation of a Santa Fe style burrito. The meats being stewed down to a tender chew in sweet onions and poblano peppers; reduced to have only a limited thicker broth. This is served in a large flour tortilla with the meat, Mexican seasoned rice and tomatoes, black beans with fresh diced onions and poblano peppers adding crunchy zestiness. I like mine with a little sour cream and a hint of cilantro too. Wrap this 10lb (big, lol) baby up and top with salsa verde and queso chihuahua. This beast goes well with a side shredded lettuce topped with guacamole sauce.
