Week Fifteen Tuesday, December 9, 2014: Locked Boxes
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Fifteen Tuesday, December 9, 2014: Locked Boxes
I totally agree with Spikey; Sam's mom should have called David's dad and told him what happened. But since she didn't, Sam knew if he told Alex something would get done. And it did. I'm looking forward to David's session with Dr. K. again. Danny's warnings were very ominous, and the look inside David's cluttered brain might have been worse. All those unresolved issues packed up and stored in boxes on the shelves of David's subconscious. Scary. But, just like his dad, apparently. I can't wait to read about is talk with Randy. Erik is something else. He calls Twoey's phone just to make sure it's off? That is sick. He needs to see Doc Keating also. I hope Ginny follows through and talks to Keating; she seems to be very worried about David, which is good because now there are quite a few people who are looking out for him. -
David definitely has to see Doc K! All his fish analogies and metaphors are swimming all around him (sorry, couldn't resist! ). So he 'heard' Burch in his mind telling him his little fish was happy playing with Burch (Burch's bigger fish?). That's a HUGE breakthrough right there! David has so much shit he's dealing with now, it's no wonder he broke down. I'm glad it was with Sam though. I also agree with everyone who said David was just placating Sam by agreeing to go to therapy. David always wants to handle things himself (well, along with his helpers), and put everything in little boxes and compartments in his mind. I'm glad he finally decided to call Twoey. Erik of course will have a shitfit when he finds out. I'm assuming he controls Twoey's phone too. Maybe Twoey will tell Ginny and she can approach David. Now she can see him since he'll be back in school (not as a therapist, but as a friend). Another breakthrough was realizing there's no spark with Alex like there was with Twoey. Just good friendship. Another awesome chapter, Skinny!

This was definitely a fun chapter to read, Lit! Waking up, making breakfast, there it is again, the 'b' word! Seriously though, I was grinning from ear to ear when Corey addressed Jason as his boyfriend. Progress! I didn't realize they were in a straight bar; I guess I just assumed they were going to a gay bar, but yeah, people from work, so I guess it would be straight. Hopefully, Corey's anxiety over trust won't come out if he sees someone eyeing Jason - gay or straight. Grrr, I'm all caught up now! Looking forward to the next chapter, Lit!
-
Whew! So glad it was Corey at the door and not Luc! lol I'm thrilled they 'kissed and made up'. Corey does understandably have a lot of trust issues, but I'm glad Jason cares for him so much he's willing to work with Corey on these problems. Corey can finally see, or finally admit to himself, that Jason is not Ian Smyth. I'm glad Pierre was there for Corey. I know Jason is too!
-
Whoa, I totally disagree with Kapucinski. How the hell can he/she blame the mom? It's Corey's overreaction to his mom's pain that he's avoiding Jason. He's just generalizing all cheaters, and yes, he's wrong, and he now knows how much Jason has changed from that young, 20-year-old kid to the mature adult he is now. He's just trying to place blame that's all. His mom is the victim here, and if anyone has ever been there, then they know exactly how she's feeling. Corey's not caught up in his "mamma's dramas". She doesn't need an audience for her "dramas." It's obvious this person was never cheated on with a dirtbag who had kids with someone else. Luckily, Corey's mom doesn't have young kids she has to take care of, like other people, but she still feels the same damn pain if her kids were two or fifty-two. I also feel badly for Jason because he's just trying to be a good friend now, but Corey won't let him. I'm just hoping Jason's cheating dirtbag isn't the one at the door. He would be the last person I'd expect, and if he is there, hopefully Corey won't decide to go to Jason's now to apologize. Awesome chapter, Lit!

Yeah, I agree with Hunter; the cell phone dying every day just doesn't cut it. That's a bullshit, lame excuse. Everyone thinks David should cut Mike some slack since he is planning that surprise party, and ok, I agree, but still, Mike's got some 'splaining to do. The whole thing with Rain isn't good either. What is Rain doing flirting with David all the time and sending him mixed signals? Is he just totally comfortable in his straight-boy skin (like Brady), or is he really bi, but Laleh doesn't know it yet? And how long have they been together anyway? Another engrossing chapter, Lux!

Chapter 6 - Misapprehension
Lisa commented on Lux Apollo's story chapter in Chapter 6 - Misapprehension
What a chapter, Lux! I really feel for David with his anxieties. One of my good friends has an anxiety disorder, and she actually gets disability checks and doesn't work because of it. And it's not like her anxiety is any worse than David's! Laleh (is that how it's spelled? And how is it pronounced?) and Alec definitely weren't professional during the interview, but...personally, I thought David overreacted. And I'm sure it was his anxiety that was causing him to shout and curse at Alec. I would have just continued sitting there in the interview wondering what was so funny. But I'm not one to fly off the handle either. I'm glad he got the promotion though, and it's wonderful they FINALLY fired Steve! Brady is wonderful, and it is sad that he lives so far away from David now. I could tell how much David depended on him emotionally. It's funny, every time you write Divya, I think of that pretty girl from Royal Pains, the show about the doctor who makes house calls in the Hamptons. Her name was Divya in the show. Spikey brought up a good point, though: maybe there's no animosity on Divya's side, and it's only coming from David because he's jealous she has Brady all to herself. As for Mike - wtf is going on with him? Ok, I get it that he's super busy at work, wants to make partner, blah, blah, blah. But c'mon! This is your partner, your love, wtf are you doing, Mike? He couldn't pick up the phone to see how David's interview went? He couldn't answer just one f'n text? Something's going on here. And ESPECIALLY knowing David's anxiety!!!!! Omg, he's being really cruel! I'm trying not to think the worst, but whenever I hear people making excuses that "Oh, so-and-so worked late again tonight", in the back of my mind a little voice is saying, "Wake up and smell the coffee, idiot!" lol Hopefully that's not the case with Mike. I just don't like the way he's so self-absorbed with this job. Ok, on to the next chapter! -
Awesome Q&As Dark! I, too, was wondering what happened to Gary! lol I think Val had told me about Sammy's story Gemini, which of course is now on my list of 'must reads.' I'm also looking forward to Sasha's return to GA. I love this blog; it's so nice to briefly get into the minds of these talented authors.

Week Fourteen Sunday, December 7, 2014: Shimmering Reflections
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Fourteen Sunday, December 7, 2014: Shimmering Reflections
Jeez, I haven't r&r'd since May! It is ironic that Alex can see how controlling Erik is toward Twoey, but she can't see how manipulative she is with David. Or can she...She is very smart, after all. I think eventually she might be the one to figure everything out and fill David in on his true feelings. The signs have got to be there (as Randy thought), and Alex has a gay brother, so she knows what to look for. I think she's too close, that's the problem. If she steps back some and gives David some breathing room, she might see similarities between David and her brother. Watch, she'll be the smart one who'll help David come to terms with this. I'm really looking forward to David mediating and seeing Danny again. Hopefully he'll be able to help David. This was another awesome chapter, Skinny! -
What rock have I been hiding under that I never saw this update? lol I feel David's anxiety. At the mere mention of the b u-words (breaking up) David starts having an anxiety attack. Vicky is right; he needs to talk to Mike. But then again...how much of this is in his head? Like Defiance said, David may be making a mountain out of a molehill. He obviously has too much time on his hands, even with the consulting job, because he's overthinking everything. When he was working at Globestar, he was busy and therefore had less time to think of Mike coming home late all the time and never being around. Now he has so much time, all he does is think and second guess himself and Mike. I think if he does try to talk to Mike, Mike may think, "Wth? I cut my hours, so what more does he want?" You know? He needs to wait and see if he gets his job back (why does he have to interview for a job he already had? lol), and see how things go at home after that. Great chapter, Lux! On to the next one.

Oh man, Squirrel, you made me cry when B&B kissed Grandma on the cheek. That was so sweet. Being a psychiatrist, I'm surprised Brett's mom doesn't put him on some kind of ADD/ADHD meds. Wouldn't that help his focus in school (reading?)? This was another excellent chapter, Squirrel! You always leave me wanting more!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKINNY!!!!! I hope you're having an awesome day!

Puppi!!! Congratulations!!! I'm so excited for you! I bet you'll look awesome in purple! Seriously though, this is a well-deserved promotion. Congrats again, Puppi!

I think the name of the town New Glory says something about Toph. He couldn't have picked a better place to start his 'new' life. This chapter has him finding glory with everything -- he's selling paintings (surprise to him, but not to me -- I can 'see' everything he paints), making lots of friends and colleagues, gaining mentors, and just being able to 'be' Toph. Be the Toph he always was deep inside but could never surface because of where he was, who he was with, his family... This was a wonderful, heartwarming chapter, Skinny!

Number one: OMG, how embarrassing!!!!! Mortifying, humiliating, etc., etc. Poor Billy. Ok, number two: Does Billy have the best dad or what? He is wonderful! You can tell he really loves Billy. Billy needed to get all that shit off his chest, all that guilt he's been carrying around. He's going to be a different person now, I bet. Wonderful chapter, Squirrel! Very heartwarming.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES!!!!! I hope you had an awesome day!

So, I just came on to review this chapter before I go back to work. WTF, Corbin!!!! First, you reeled poor clueless David in with your semi-seduction in the last chapter (I think it was the last chapter). We didn't even know if David was gay or not! (Did we? lol) If he wasn't, I think now he's gay for Corbs! Then you KISS him -- oh, but not just ANY kiss! A kiss like you would give NICK!!!! And why were you not picturing Nick when you were kissing David? Hmmm? So he doesn't cheat; he's not a cheater. Ok, in my book kissing isn't cheating, and yes, he did stop, but he's totally leading David on! David may think he has a chance with Corbin, and of course Corbin would like a chance to "pounce on" David (in Corbin's words!), but he has Nick so he can't. Good. But stop leading freshman on! Even Lee was confused b/c he thought all talks/arguments, fights, whatever, lead to sex! lol Next, I think we can definitely get rid of Clinton and Trump -- Corbin can be the next leader of this free world country. He is the biggest manipulator I have ever heard of! My God, the way he wrapped Dom around his finger was incredible and very entertaining to read! So kudos to you, Jon! I must tell you though, sometimes it's hard to figure out who he's trying to screw over and why with all his verbal shenanigans! Well, he certainly fucked Dom over, that's for sure. My heart was in my mouth when Dom came in. I was praying he wouldn't see someone else's feet sticking out of the "closet". lol And why doesn't he have a real closet? Even we had those back in the old days! lol It would have all been over for Corbs if Dom had found David there. I just can't believe Corbin can be so reckless (David too) when so much is at stake. Is it mean of me to say I miss Pete? Even the Vmee a bit... Another hella awesome chapter, Jon! Thanks for the quick update!!

I don't quite understand why Billy is so hesitant to see his father. He knows his father isn't angry with him. Is it because he mouthed off to him and told his father how he really feels? Brett's so cute! Boy pretty! lol Dustin has every right to be pissed at Billy. It's sort of like when teenagers get boyfriends or girlfriends, all of a sudden they stop hanging around their friends. And Billy stuck his foot right in his mouth when he said he couldn't stay and hang out. He had to open up his mouth and tell Dustin where he was going. Idiot. lol I feel badly for Dustin. He feels left out, as he should. I hope Billy can make it up to him, and I hope Dustin will let him and not carry a grudge. Great chapter, Squirrel!

I read this on my phone days ago, but I kept forgetting to review! Why am I not surprised that Viktor knows of Thomas' parentage? I don't have a good feeling about Shane's gun. Or the flashdrive. I wonder what's on it...probably incriminating evidence or something. lol This was another great chapter, Mitchelll!

Billy Gets His Head Examined
Lisa commented on jkwsquirrel's story chapter in Billy Gets His Head Examined
That's young teenagers for you! They're very close-mouthed when it comes the the parental units. I'm glad the doctor took this whole thing seriously, despite the fact that Billy's mom works there. You just never know. -
Well, that certainly got out of control! I know kids feel neglected when their parents don't pay attention/don't have time for them, never come to their games, etc. Billy finally found his voice and told his father how he really feels, and then this happens. Just a stupid accident. I actually felt badly for the father because he was worried sick about Billy. He even called Brett's house, but Brett just ignored the phone. What a mess! I hope Billy will be ok.

An Adventure (Children's Verse)
Lisa commented on Doctor Oger's story chapter in An Adventure (Children's Verse)
Love those nursery rhymes! They'll all fly to the moon and over the seas, but no, they have to go home. lol -
Beautiful poem, Doc. =)
