Wow, what a chapter! I cried when David called his mom so they could eat dinner together over Skype. That's so sweet!! It was so sad to read what happened to his friends. And a big OUCH!! over what Brady said to David - 'family'. Wow, Brady didn't even notice the slip. Poor David. I still don't know what to make of David and Mike. Mike seriously needs to think about looking for a different job. His boss sounds like a tyrant (similar to the asshole I work with). There's gotta be other law firms he can work at, places where he doesn't have to leave his home life and social life at the door.

'Basically a no no. Write these out instead of using the numerals, but if that doesn’t work, rephrase. You really don’t want to start a sentence with a numeral. Zero through One hundred. You’ll notice I spelled those out. That’s the rule! Zero through one hundred is written out. 101 and more, you can write the numerals. But what if I’m talking about hundreds, or thousands?' Shouldn't the 101 be written out since it's the beginning of the sentence? Cia, I love reading your Grammar Rodeo! I always learn something from you!

Chapter 19: I made my decision
Lisa commented on Stannie's story chapter in Chapter 19: I made my decision
Wow. Adam/Matt's kissing his half-brother. When (if?) Codey ever finds out A/M has been lying to him about who he is, that's really going to hurt now. I think A/M needs to fess up about his name and who his father is. He's getting himself deeper and deeper in a hole he won't be able to get out of. I want to know what Sandra said to Codey after A/M left. Did she believe him? -
Loved the ending, like everyone else, Lit! Liam is so cute! I really hope he doesn't get hurt by Alek staying so far in the closet he's in Narnia. (I read that somewhere on here and it stuck! lol) I think C&J inviting them over for dinner is a great idea! Maybe Pierre and his boyfriend could come too. Alek really needs to be exposed to more gay men so he'll feel comfortable someday being who he is. Damn, now I have to wait for a whole WEEK for a new chapter???

Chapter 18: Why does it hurt?
Lisa commented on Stannie's story chapter in Chapter 18: Why does it hurt?
Stannie!!!!! I'm so glad you're back!!!!! So, that really sucks about what Codey did to Adam aka Matt. This might go one of two ways: Codey's mom won't believe him, and she'll eventually get the truth out of him, or she will believe him and cause problems for Adam, trying to find him in school. Worse yet, Adam's FATHER gets involved! Then Codey will know Adam was using him. And he'll know they're half-brothers. I'm actually not sure which scenario I like best! I love the way Adam and Seth are so wrong about Sam, well, about each other and Sam. lol Can't wait for the next chapter! -
I'm also surprised Jackson broke up with Ally. I don't think she's gonna go away so easily. I can see her starting trouble for him at school and with their friends. I love how honest Luke is with his feelings for Jackson. He likes him but he doesn't want to like him. lol Great chapter, Krista! I'm looking forward to the tryouts where Luke will be (even if he didn't have to ask about going!).

Jeezus! Brett threw his little hissy fit, and Billy couldn't let it go. What a fucking mess. (Just to add to all the cursing, you know. ) But both boys know they went too far. I don't know what's up Brett's ass, but something's going on with him. I'm sure Billy would like to get to the bottom of it also. When Billy's dad was talking to Barry, I didn't take it as any insult to Billy that he got punched in the mouth. George only said his son takes after him with his temper, that's all. That's not insulting. IMO I just hope the two boys can work this out. Joey definitely had something there when he said Brett and Dustin were fighting over Billy. They both want to be number one in Billy's eyes. Then Brett had to have his temper tantrum and lash out at everyone, but the things he said to Billy were the worst. And they must be what he really feels otherwise I don't think he would have said them. What a shitty birthday party that turned out to be for Billy.

Fourteen candles? He should have had fifteen -- one for good luck. I think it's great that Billy challenged his mother on her stupid, backwards thinking. My God, it was the end of 2000, not 1900! She has some idiocy going on in her head. lol What happens when an LGBTQ patient comes in the hospital? Will she refuse to treat this person because she doesn't "approve of his/her/whatever lifestyle choice"? What an ass. Kudos to Billy though for being too smart for her! I'm sure she wouldn't have been able to come up with a retort to that! I'm feeling really badly for Dustin, though. We know his father is verbally abusive, and now it seems he's physically abusive, and Dustin is just sweeping it under the rug because "it's not his fault". Well it IS his fault! He should never take out his anger on his child. I'm glad Billy has decided not to bail on him anyway. I'm looking forward to the bowling party. I just hope Dustin and Brett don't come to blows!

I agree with Spikey; I think Jackson's mom was out of line for opening up his mail. I know you said your mom did that with you, but I've never opened up my kids' mail. When an envelope came from a college, I would wait until they opened it (before I posted it on FB! ). The only mail I ever open that's not mine is my ex's because for some reason I get a lot of junk mail for him. He's never even LIVED here! lol Anyway, Jackson's mom should have talked to him before giving him the envelope, especially since she knew what was going to be in it. I do feel badly that he lost the scholarship and I believe is anger is warranted at both his mom and the coach. I love the way you're writing how Jack and Luke get closer, Krista! It feels so real.

Gee thanks, Tim, now you gave me yet ANOTHER story to put on my "To Read" list. Another great review, Tim! You have me itching to read it.

I was pleasantly surprised that D&T were actually kind of nice to Churchy. And Churchy didn't mind at all. Ally, on the other hand, wtf is up with her? Why does she despise Luke? Does she sense something from him regarding Jackson? Well, at least Olivia manned up and told Ally she's not interested in Jack. Whew! lol Hopefully Tuley and his asshole friend will get the hint. I'd hate to see Jackson getting detention and missing even more practices.

I was pleased that Jackson was the one who wanted the kiss when they were in the forest by his house. That surprised me It also surprised me when Luke said, "I can't be gay." (not sure if that was his exact words) I really thought he knew he was, and he was comfortable with it. I agree with Jay; I think Luke's dad will be fine with Luke's sexuality, but of course Cindy will freak out. Stupid bitch. lol
-
I'm still on the fence about Jackson's mom, but I did like the fact that she made him apologize to Cindy and Henry and all those other church harpies. lol Jack did want to be there helping out and watching Henry with the excavator or back hoe, or whatever it was he was renting. Mainly he wanted to be there because he wanted to see Luke again. Maybe it's best that he wasn't there though. Not sure how they would react to one another, although the car ride back the night before was ok, and they even held hands!! As the majority of your readers mentioned, Jackson didn't even seem to 'be' there with his friends; he seemed miles away, or at least down the waterway from the park.
-
Kudos to Luke for taking that first scary step (scary first step? ) and kissing Jackson. I'm really surprised Jackson kissed him back; I honestly thought he'd either bolt and leave poor Luke in the middle of the pool, or just start yelling derogatory things at him. So I think I'm proud of Jackson right now. lol I just hope he doesn't do anything to screw this up!!

I already think Amy has her own thoughts about Michael. That's probably why she dared him with Jasper and not some girl. This was a nice, sweet chapter. Julie's making friends, which is always good. I had to Google Luke Cage. He's an animated character, right? How can one figure out if a cartoon character is hot?

Omg, Jason was so funny getting all pissed off at everyone who wanted to chat them up before they left. All they wanted to do was to go home and bring the new year in with a bang! lol Literally! I'm so happy J&C told Drew they were together. They're going to have a blast in the cabin with their friends. They are definitely acting like they are in this for the long haul, so I hope no one does anything stupid to screw it up!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILL!!!! I hope you have a great day!

I, too, noticed the change from first person to third person, then back to first person. I think it was a defense mechanism, maybe thinking Toph did this and Toph did that, that it wasn't really happening to him but to somebody else. If that makes sense. I'm thrilled he RSVPd yes to his sister's wedding. I'm looking forward to meeting Teddy also. I don't know what his mother is up to though. The note she sent sounds innocent enough. Why did she suddenly show up where Toph works? What's on her agenda? Oh! Maybe she's dying and she just wanted to make sure Toph knew she always loved him? Yeah, no, that wouldn't be good. Unless of course Toph makes all amends with her... I really enjoyed reading about Toph's relaxing weekend sailing off the coast of Florida. He needs to get away more often! He's also matured enough to finally admit to Gary he's in love with him and to put a label on their relationship. I'm proud of him!

Congratulations, Albert! -
Well that was sort of surprising with Jasper. A good surprising! lol He had no problems letting Michael know he had been thinking of how it would be kissing a boy. And Michael kissed a boy! And he liked it! I think his folks are way cool, and he should have no problem coming out to them. He's very lucky in that regard. Even if his father is a bit wary, Michael's mom will set his dad straight. (no pun intended )

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAZ!!!!! I hope you're having an awesome day!

I can't really add anything to my review that hasn't been said already. David should have gone right to Twoey and told him his realization. But no, he'd rather avoid it like his father. He should throw the booze out before he gets home. That will be one horrible night -- David's mind can hardly handle the most mundane things right now, adding vodka to the mix is just looking for trouble. And that's why his headaches are coming back -- because instead of opening up and getting rid of his boxes and compartments in his mind, he's ADDING to them! Just like he said!
