The consequences of the decision Etienne must make will be burdensome. If he chooses to stay with Corin and the artist's studio, he won't be beyond the reach of the Cardinal and his upcoming mission. I can't see how he can refuse... Enzo will undoubtedly be upset as he is learning Etienne is older/wiser, and sees himself as at least equal, if not more... I, like others, hope to see a sequel!!!

Chapter 3 A Sure Way to Hell
drsawzall commented on Tomkin Watts's story chapter in Chapter 3 A Sure Way to Hell
Oh...how well I remember those years...hated Nixon as well, burned my draft card in '72...shucked the underpants till the day I discovered that sometimes farts could have lumps... -
A poignant and sweet story of the dearest platonic friendship lasting through the decades...

Where did Yerrin-Ku go???? He yelped as he plummeted again. But this time, Arlo saw where the magic came from. A hulking crab-like demon stood on the other side of the massive hall, hands raised and a triumphant grin on his face. “[Dismiss]-” Arlo yelped as he plummeted. He slammed into the floor with a heavy thud. His health bar flashed — he was down five points. “[Dismissal]!” The triumphant grin turned to shock turned to nothing as the glabrezu vanished, returned to the Abyss. Arlo let out a relieved breath, crawling back to his feet. “Enga wanted to kill it!” Enga complained as she picked herself up. “I’m just glad that thing is gone… though Enga is right. We should have killed it,” Coradiel added. “Yeah, sure. That thing dispelled my [Fly] spell and [Reverse Gravity]d us twice! But sure, let’s try to fight it off!” Arlo ticked off with his fingers as he recalled demonic abilities: “Immunity to electricity, resistance to every damage type, damage reduction that can only be surpassed by good-aligned weapons, spell resistance, [Dispel Magic] at will, [Reverse Gravity] at will- you saw the way that thing was playing with us. Just be glad I was able to get rid of it.” “And rather handily too. It took me a day to negotiate a contract with Yerrin-Ku,” Xaliasa said as fog creeped out of a hallway. “

Venetia returns & Gray talks
drsawzall commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Venetia returns & Gray talks
That rabid badger of a cow should be glad she wasn't speaking to me...I mean...WTF... There is some delicious irony that as she spreads her venom, that most have been inoculated against it...she truly needs her own comeuppance!!! And I could not agree more... -
I'm not sure there will or can be a relationship given the strictures of this terminally ill society....other than..."Oh, nice to meet you"....

Chapter 1 - Rescinding Order 412
drsawzall commented on Wayne Gray's story chapter in Chapter 1 - Rescinding Order 412
My thinking was as follows: What are the long-term effects of infection; are there stages of infection, are they rational, functional human beings??? The infected have been brought to "camps", later on, at the end of the chapter, we hear John ask...did Atticus want to know what happened to Clair and others in those camps? This leads to two possibilities, neither of which sounds pleasant...and a third, is it possible this parasite has developed to a point where it can fool and hide from testing? Infected individuals lost the desire to rid themselves of the worm. Eventually, they embraced it—rejoiced in it. They claimed to feel others’ emotions, especially other infected. Some showed signs of rejuvenation: improved eyesight, restored hearing, even reversed impotence. It drew many in before the full cost was known. Otherwise, they behaved normally—except they stopped fighting. They claimed to feel others’ pain and refused to inflict harm. A parasite that demanded empathy. It was a threat to any force built on the business of war and defense. ################## They started. John danced lightly on his toes, an enigmatic smile behind his mouth guard. Atticus moved in. He opened with a jab—then another—clipping John's jaw with the second. Before he could react, John's glove flashed in a sharp uppercut. It stopped just short of connecting. Both men blinked. “Heh.” John gently tapped Atticus's chin with the glove and took a step back. “Let’s try that again.” This time, Atticus waited. John took his usual stance—left arm and leg back, feet narrowly spaced, light on the ground. He closed the distance. It was like slow motion. Atticus saw the left coming but still fell for the feinting right. He threw a heavy body blow in response, but it had no hope of landing once John knocked him off balance. But John suddenly jerked his arm back, his expression blank. Something in this first chapter holds the answer to what is going on, and it is frustrating the heck out of me, I just can't put my finger on it thanks to some superb writing... -
I thought the first chapter was fantastic, more so the second and third, then the fourth set a high bar surpassed by the fifth. I think I need a fifth of 90 proof Old Crow, and this chapter was superlative, the best yet.... I can't add much to what's been said, who was the patient in 617, more importantly...one of the hit men, removed his latex gloves before leaving the floor via the South Stairwell, I'd be checking for prints, reviewing video, both inside and outside of the hospital, and getting DNA samples... I am hoping the latex gloves are part of the secured scene, will there be prints on the gun???

And at the corners of this relationship, life has a way of tossing a curveball... We were lovers, all together in one relationship. But we were not partners since we had no strings on each other and no joint plans for the future, except that Mike and I had begun talking about being roommates when we became students at Tech. Unfortunately, Randy’s commitment to move to Austin to attend UT kept that plan from being a threesome.

Chapter 1 - Rescinding Order 412

Another early morning thought...I'd like to know the status of those infected, there's a niggling thought pinging in the back of my cranium and knowing their status would be helpful! Then a part of me wonders if the parasite has been able to breach the upper levels of command. All we know for now is that the men of this cairn are free of any infection.... -
Early, way to early, morning thoughts...Why in the f'ck doesn't Rory follow Kieran through their bond????
