Humm Vince crouched and picked from the ground what appeared to be a piece of incense. It was still smoking. A short sniff convinced Danny’s bestie that it was at least half as bad as Jack made it out to be. Funny thing, he himself couldn’t smell it at all. Or maybe he just wasn’t bothered by it.

Dark blood magic and possibly an ancient evil wizard walks the ground again...

Chapter 37 - The Island
drsawzall commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 37 - The Island
How many of the thirteen will they find??? “Yes,” Othri said to Toque in a relieved voice, “and I’m sorry, I’ve already forgotten your name, but she’s right!” he called out to the islanders. “The Humans are actively hunting down whoever of us remain. You asked how we found you; it’s because of me.” He turned his orange eyes to Toque. “I can feel you, and you’re not the only Urcai who can do magic. You’re the second one we’ve found, and there are thirteen others out there who we are trying to find before the Humans do.” -

Time for Dylan to use his return ticket, Troy isn't a possession.... -
At the beginning of this chapter, I was wondering if we could have some of what he was smoking...As Dorothy said, we ain't in Kansas any more... What could possibly happen now?

It would be, sadly, poetic justice....

Low skill well paying jobs? Can I get what you’re smoking? Better yet, share it with the morons in charge. Inmate to Entrepreneur: Transforming Lives Through Business After Incarceration - FatFIRE -

Chapter 36 - The Finger
drsawzall commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 36 - The Finger
So sad, so many chances lost to destroy the obelisk, to use nature against Nextworld...the best they can hope for is a virus that will decimate the humans... -
Rules exist for a reason, and as the old adage reminds us, loose lips sink ships...It was vitally important that both Hunter and Faith learn that they aren't any better than anyone else. It has to be so demanding to be one of the children, knowing that very little of your lives will be above speculation...wonder if any of them might want to chuck it all and become a simple farmer on a planet in some remote backwater....

Thanks for sharing this with us!!

Alan has been giving signs that he's been living on the edge of bursting the 'bubble' for some time now. I have to believe the compression, form-fitting shorts weren't the only reason for the generous tips... Has Alan been back to the pornographer on the sly??? While I understand Cal is in a difficult position regarding lodging, he needs to make it abundantly clear that there cannot be any sexy times with Alan. Notwithstanding the lack of a condom, STDs, and Covid, Alan has become his own worst enemy. I'm hoping that Cal has the adult conversation with Alan, making him understand that they are only roommates. I think Cal needs to have a conversation with Jordan as this impacts him as well.... Sometimes my prodigious powers of prognostication hit the mark...now off to buy a lottery ticket.... I'll take those odds, will Alan swallow????....However, I am still rooting for the intercession with Brandi and Alan, Cal and the gentleman from Food Services...perhaps both will be on the facilities/groundskeeping side....

The patient has a name and his recovery is progressing nicely. We are still in the dark regarding the accident. Has an accident reconstruction team been tasked to investigate? Further work on recovering VIN numbers for the car? Where is the car now? While it is early days yet, would it be possible to determine the rate of speed the car was traveling? There is a metal doohickey laying on the floor of the car, hoping it isn't overlooked... The adoption records we are told, for the lack of better words, sealed or difficult to obtain... If they are having difficulty, why would that be? 'Josh' was born in 2008; he has to exist in an electronic database, will finding that reveal information best kept secret or are we in for a magical mystery tour??? “But you should know, this wasn’t a random match. The system linked your fingerprints to a set of adoption records that haven’t been touched since the day they were filed. Nothing flagged in foster care, no known incidents. It's like your life was perfectly quiet… until now.” I tried to process that. A life on file but blank in my head. Like someone had written a whole book and then ripped out the pages before I could read them. “Is there a photo?” I asked, not even sure what I hoped for. Natalie flipped through the folder again, then shook her head. “No baby picture, no family photo. Just legal paperwork. Birth certificate, adoption decree, a few hospital logs from your delivery.” “Right,” I muttered. “No breadcrumbs, then.” She gave me a small, apologetic smile. “Not yet. But we’re not done searching.”

Friends' Reactions, and Gavin's Visit
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Friends' Reactions, and Gavin's Visit
I think that for Gavin to benefit from his visit to the juvenile prison, he just may need a couple more. Perhaps talking to 'other' prisoners might/reinforce the lesson. I just don't hold out any hope that it was a long-term fix towards his thinking/behavior. Mel, how could I forget that Jr League A-Hole...Why do I fear his hooking up with Gavin??? Get Leon's room redone ASAP, it may or may not help.... To the day we see this, it would mean a dramatic shift in culture and tax dollars but think of the tax dollars returned by former prisoners holding well-paying jobs... -

The boys were fortunate to have managed to come through their ordeal; the brutality in the manner they were treated was sickening. One hopes the remainder of the journey is peaceful....

Thank you for this, it was deeply appreciated and a truly fantastic story!!! “Yeah. And solemnly announced that as well as the three of us having family time, it would be nice if you came along. As you were family too, it seems.” “So, I’ve been adopted.” And I've always believed Toby was more than the sum of his parts.... There was a shout from Brian, “Hey, you two. Train’s coming. What were you and Russ talking about, sport.” Toby shrugged and smiled, “Oh, just family stuff.” Time to find that larger house!! Again...thanks for this!!!
