And a new adventure begins, fraught with unknown perils, time is of the essence as a desperate rear-guard action buys the time needed to make the move to the new lands successful...I remain concerned that the pestilence the Anberan's are/create may follow the Pactrid's. While the attrition sustained in this costly war against the Pactrid's one has to wonder if there is a tipping point in losses sustained. More to the point, once the 'Trids have relocated and the last remaining forests consumed, what then? Lastly, much has been made about Calum's sexuality, is it possible that intimacy along those lines will run its course in some form or fashion as they start their lives together?

It's a bold move, one that will take time to accomplish. My worst fear is that at some point the humans will make the same discovery about the sea, leading them to follow....

Childish questions, and some answers
drsawzall commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Childish questions, and some answers
Well, it is a bit too early to be singing, "Ding dong...the wicked witch is dead...", but it is good news of the best sort.... Now the tough slogging begins, one has to guess it wasn't a trivial sum of money they absconded with, the details of what went down is salacious, too salacious for the press to ignore...the trial is bound to be top of the fold, page one news... Ludo's 15 minutes of fame are just beginning, fortunately once the trial is over the prurient press will find another sordid story to glom on to.... Getting their side of the side of the story out is a fantastic idea and I think all involved could use a bit of impartial counseling... Can't wait for the next chapter!!!!- 19 comments

Can you be angry and furious with a chapter and love it anyway? I still want to know who is watching the fuckwad, rat faced scum sucking pissant a-hole, if I had to guess it is someone, a trusted confidant/fixer for the Old Artefacts, getting eyes on the problem to see how deep in do-do, shite, excrement, crapola they have landed in...

Chapter 13 - Bold Moves
drsawzall commented on ChromedOutCortex's story chapter in Chapter 13 - Bold Moves
Robbie was a fool to jump to such a conclusion, and while Manny could have handled the situation a bit better, I still feel Robbie's insecurities stormed to the forefront, not a good omen for the future if there is another crisis.... Both boys need to concentrate on their communication and perhaps some wise counseling is in order... -
The phone call with Bert proves that Alan is a first class douchbag....POS/user....

Soup to Nuts, White on Rice
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Soup to Nuts, White on Rice
One would think the microwave would have been placed by now, out of reach of the little f'cker's little darlings reach. To me it looks as if the family genetics were successfully passed on.... -
The future is theirs's to explore, hoping there aren't any bumps ahead...

Slowly but surely the web is crumbling, will the fuckwad, rat faced scum sucking pissant a-hole get two behind the ear? Was the boy in the cellar the morning's appointment, or is this another sordid case? I see good things happening for Sam, both professionally and personally... It would seem our intrepid detective just might/may have an admirer in the FBI....

Chapter 12 - Shadows and Light
drsawzall commented on ChromedOutCortex's story chapter in Chapter 12 - Shadows and Light
This one needed a Kleenex warning, simply and powerfully emotive.... The following nearly had me on the ropes as it is/was something shared... The thoughts came unbidden, one after another, weighing heavy on Robby’s mind. He thought about the sacrifices his parents had made for him over the years—the late nights, the hard work, the endless encouragement to succeed. And now, all of it felt conditional, like it had come with invisible strings attached. Strings he had unknowingly severed the moment he told them the truth. “I’ve always tried to make them proud,” he whispered to himself, his voice barely audible. “But I was never enough.” I was the third and last of my siblings, my brother was the golden child who could do no wrong. His bipolar episodes ignored and overlooked, when they couldn't overlook, something else was always to blame. Dropping out of college, lost in the foggy haze of drugs was ignored. My sister bonked her way thru high school, how she never became pregnant might have had something to do with the good doctor who 'assisted' young ladies in the midnight hours as they avoided an unwanted pregnancy... Me, I was an honor roll student and the black sheep of the family, never good enough. I worked shoveling snow, mowing lawns, painting and a general dogsbody for the good doctor. With my earnings I bought my own clothes and necessities, did my darndest to avoid both of my siblings' requests for loans, having been burned before. Yet everything I did, including putting myself thru college was never good enough. When I turned 18, I realized my life was on my shoulders and would be what I wanted to make out of it... -
Brilliant idea... Zdain scratched his temple thoughtfully. "We must take advantage of this situation. You mentioned this guard duty... let's ask Plinkinenkak then. If she really is the best assassin or spy in the Empire, she'll know a thing or two about what Zal is up to." Plink is doing everything in her power to create and exploit tension amongst our adventurers and ships crew, telling lies, embellishing her own importance... Will someone on this voyage of the damned f'ing grow up????
