drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Updates on Jason, Bart, and Other Patients
Well...ifin ya cain't get the prescription in time for the next chapter the following may help...and Karl with this success just might land more clients... -
How in the world and the seven layers of HE double LL does Carl even make it back to school, let alone as a pitcher on the JV team??? Quite frankly he should be a starting "catcher' in the juvenile prison league!!! Can't wait till Uncle George grills Officer Stoner, would love to be a fly on the wall for that...it is time for Uncle George to set in place some legal representation for Pete!!! Actually, just how old is Carl, is he close to or over 18??? Speaking of which, how old is Mitch, is he a junior or senior??? The apparent age difference is concerning... Is it time for...

The following was just so true to life!!!! After we finished washing the dishes, Devin and I went in to watch the football game with our dads. It wasn’t that we were interested in the teams that were playing, but we wanted to see what our dads were up to, because we suspected there would be some interesting interactions between them as the games progressed. Our dads didn’t disappoint us either and the banter was hectic at times, but it was always fascinating to watch and listen to them. They were a better show for us than the game.

The following has me wondering why Oscar's mother is acting out in such a manner...there are unexplored issues here....I have to wonder if this is the reason that his grandparents are taking the steps to ensure that Oscar has a future similar to what his younger siblings will have...it makes me think that Oscar will not inherit a dime from his birth parents... “Selena, why are my younger grandchildren asking these questions, you can see that it is causing Oscar some stress, which he does not need to be going through at this stage,” Gran authoritatively asked my mother, “I am sorry that you feel that way Margaret, but my children do have a right to ask their sibling why he is hardly at home any more,” my mother responded. “That is enough you two, stop this arguing in front of the children,” Gramps snapped at both my Mother and Gran.

I think the writer has made the point with this portion of the story, any more of this is useless and not necessary...time for the story to move forward in my opinion...

I like the unassuming nature of Thomas's brother and sister-in-law...I get the strongest sense that they are as plain and good natured as they appear to be...

Chapter 23 - Aboard the Deathian
drsawzall commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 23 - Aboard the Deathian
About freaking time the tables were turned.... -
The tenth story in a series of growing up in Ravello, and is perhaps the best of all of them. Nothing is easy as it seems for our young protagonists as they chart their way in the confusing world of growing up and the many faceted challenges they face together, and alone. Once again, we readers here at GA are so fortunate to have such quality writing to peruse. While this is a standalone story, it is much richer if you read the series from the beginning!!!

First off, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for this latest saga from Ravello. I can't disagree with any of the comments above, all are spot on. I, like many others hope that we will see a continuation in the near future, I can't agree with the comparison to this being a soap opera, it is far from it. There are so many threads yet to be explored it has my imagination piqued!!! As to Marco, the little mouse that roared, I'll leave you with the following thought from the Summer of the Selfless... drsawzall 44,052 Posted May 21, 2023 (edited) Popular Comment As with many readers/commentators, I was harsh and unforgiving when it came to Marco, and while it beggars my conscience, I've come to respect the mousy haired boy, he's grown by leaps and bounds as he is well on the path to discovering himself and finding that he's on the cusp of becoming a fine young man. I had been less harsh at the beginning with Giaco, I had fallen for his golden boy charms and natural, easy going insouciance. The differences between he and Marco could not be more striking, as Marco discovers more about the good inside him, we see Giaco a bit more clearly as the curtains are peeled back. He's becoming a bit more unsure of himself, finding growing up isn't easy or easy to cover the feelings radiating out of him. He's a bit less confident as Marco becomes so.

Did Cal ever live in Red Herring City???? Does Cal know about your little affair?” “Hell no. He’d kill me.” “Why would he do that? He told me that you guys had an open marriage.” “That’s bull shit. Cal is the most jealous man I know.”

Looking forward to this, hiking Kilimanjaro has been on my bucket list for some time!!

Wow...did this chapter hit all the right notes...or what??? I think now we know that these schools that Greg wants to build will have quite the diverse enrollment...That other vampires could treat their own, as Baron Pittsburg explained in the last chapter, as from a lower...almost a throwaway demographic, is simply wrong... And if Josh has found his fated mate...bless him!!!

Chapter 22 - Chains

Where I come from we call 'em politicians... -
What will happen with Carl, an assault witnessed and led out of the locker room in handcuffs...in any real time depiction of the world as of today, he's a gonner, expelled and forced to matriculate elsewhere...curious to see what decade this story takes place in...Did I read in the earlier chapter Carl's father is a bigshot in town??? If so, does the fact Peter retaliated sort of 'even the score' and Carl is allowed back to school and the team??? Sadly...I suspect we haven't seen the last of the neanderthal.... Can there be a relationship between Peter and Mitch??? Here's hoping!!!

Insert the theme from Jaws here???? Looks like I might have to skip a week or 20.... Is it possible Ashley is funding Calvin on the expiation of the boys being the source of some significant income????

For me, and I am sure for many authors, writing poignant tales of first love and coming out, is almost something that can write itself...we see it here so many times...what takes skill, is taking a truly detestable character and finding that spark of redemption. I think back to Aristotle's definition of what makes a tragic hero and for me, I believe you hit the mark...

Chapter 22 - Chains

On second thought, take the explosive device I mentioned in the last chapter, split in two and stuff one up the Captain's backside and the other up the Admiral's backside.... -
