As with @Summerabbacat, and despite my first reactions, Russ is growing on me and am finding out that he is a man of many layers. So many I feel he may have lost himself along the way. As successful as he's been in growing his empire, most, if not all, who come into contact with him, do so purely from a professional/monetary relationship. I think in many ways, Russ envies what Brian, Toby, and Gordon have, to wit...the way they approach their relationship with him. This is one of the central themes to this story, for all the success Russ may have, he can't buy what the others have...but delights when it is given freely to him, I believe it is a world he yearns for... Toby continues to amaze me, we see once the shackles of his previous situation are removed, and let's not forget he's barely 14, the exciting world he longs to explore open up to him, and that he is allowed the time and space to understand his own, along with others sexuality, in a healthy environment.

Well now the mystery deepens with even more questions.... Just what is Clara? Mark...WTF... Dave's mother... Faux silver plating on the chains... and then there's this...oh la la “I’m sorry I was followed. I…” I said and looked over at Mark, “I don’t know what to do with him now. Fuck.” Then I looked over at Clara and said, “Are you ok?” Clara just nodded with a smile. “I will be,” she said, “but you’re almost naked.” “Were these the last clothes you had?” Dave said. “Yup,” I said, my expression blank. “Dave doesn’t mind,” she said. And Dave blushed so hard, I didn’t even have to look at him to know. The scent said everything. I turned to face him again. So close, still gripping his shoulders.

This cast of characters is like in so many ways, a slow-moving train wreck. Of all of them, I feel Chris may be the most adult, and that is a stretch to some extent. What we are seeing isn't a lack of physical maturity, but emotional maturity. I have to ask, is Andre aware, fully aware of Beau's wanderings to the other side??? To some extent, I find these guys vapid, narcissistic, and immature, displaying all the hallmarks of a self-absorbed generation. And like any trainwreck or car crash, I can't help but slow down and look...

I am convinced Jubal somehow found that danged, sawed-off branch and used it for the fire under the stew. Little did he know it was gonna act like an aphrodisiac and fired up the friskiness factor, well that and the fact both of them needed bathing...I swear it was the burning branch....😏 “Ain’t no need to wait… for some of it. Ok all you haters....My clerk of court just handed me a note...the jury has reached a decision...they've gone to Brazil!!!! Caleb. Ah, yes. Our beloved, messed up, fucked-in-the-head, Caleb. Love him or hate him, he was a great character overall. I had to figure out how to take a well-respected Alpha, drag him through Hell (hi, Lucifer!), and then find his way to redemption. I hope I nailed it. Boy oh boy did you nail Caleb, someone I've begrudgingly come to respect, and as you know from my comments, you more than hit the mark...Thank you!!!!!!

The beginning of the chapter hit all the right notes and was well done... Not sure I'm impressed with Makani...so far, he's way out of bounds in deeds and thoughts...he needs to stop thinking with his dick considering the current circumstances...trouble is what he is...trouble... Makani found Charlie to be pretty good in the looks department and him trying to take care of Joey according to what Uncle Ke had said really got Makani interested. Very, very few nineteen-year-olds would do that. Charlie had depths to him that was certainly admirable.

This has more twist than...oh, I know what it reminds me of...
