Forward I sally forth and move on in my quest to find part duece, the quest for the Holy Grail, an occasional trail of worthy bread crumbs leading us to the answer to @Okiegrad and his deserving questions. I shall march forward, suffer any indignities or flesh wounds...Thine quest is righteous and mighty!!!~

Thank you for this chapter. I can't bring myself to call it an epilogue, just a pause in their lives. Hats off to Joel and his father for clearly delineating the root cause of the issues between Joel and his mother. I had tears in my eyes as Joel and his father hugged. And he was so on point when he clued his wife in on the damage she's doing, and that only the weasel, did you suspect anything else, is still living at home. Unemployed, a drug bust or two, and some carpet crawlers of his creation to boot. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for continuing this story, as it only got better and better. I hope that occasionally, we get a chapter that allows us to revisit these characters. Not a full-fledged, multi-chapter story, just an occasional one-chapter peek in on them once in a while.

Well written and concise, I am left with struggling to understand his mothers actions…

I may be wrong, going way out on a limb here, my left-hand sawing the branch behind me but...something is off...in an earlier comment in, I believe in this story, by our caffeinated author, it's mentioned that Kyle's destiny with true romance was another story to come... And yes, I missed my coke zero this morning, and now I am off to the fridge...

Some interesting theories and possibilities, Atlas can't or won't reveal the full extent of his powers, Nora appears to be much more than suspected at first, and...well, Damien continues to be held captive by his OCD... And the thought of a water mage might/may be involved... I find the dream about the tank to be a possible clue/reason as to why Kellen's magic is on hiatus...

He stared at the blank wall, at the recording equipment with its steady red light. Ten minutes passed, each one an eternity. Then the door opened again. Miller walked in first, but he was a different man. His smugness was gone, replaced by a shrunken, furious bewilderment. Behind him entered a man in a pinstripe suit so sharp it seemed to cut the stale air. He carried a calfskin briefcase and an aura of expensive, unassailable authority that made the room feel even smaller. And behind the solicitor walked Kieran’s father. Mr. Varys looked exactly as he always had: a study in controlled grey. Grey suit, perfectly pressed. Grey hair, perfectly trimmed. Grey eyes, cold and assessing. He entered the interview room as if inspecting a particularly unsavoury public toilet. His sneer of distaste took in the bolted table, the stained walls, the recording equipment, and finally, his son. He didn't look at Kieran. He looked at the space Kieran occupied, as if he were an unfortunate stain on the scene. If Ben is paying Sterling, why was Kieran's father there??? He does.
