He scrambled out of the tub, his socks slipping on the now-soaked tile, and dove for the cabinet under the sink. He fumbled for a moment before his hand closed around the cold, metal handle of the main shut-off valve. He cranked it with all his might, turning it to the right until it wouldn't move another inch.
