While it sounds scary it's a fairly common procedure. I had a biopsy done on my thyroid a number of years ago without any ill effect. My stepdad had one done on the spot in his lung with no difficulty. His was small too. Did they tell you on the phone that they want to talk about a biopsy or is it possible that this visit is just to discuss what they think the best course of action is. Perhaps that wait and see after a second scan in a few months.

Uhm, Seamus, you kind of insisted on doing it all with Aidan. When Matt arranged to put him in daycare for extra days to give you a break you told him no. Yes, taking care of a small child is exhausting but you had to be the hero so don't blame Matt. Matt isn't throwing being Aidan's parent in your face, he's trying tell you he feels like he's being closed out. Also, as you were reminded at the hospital, ultimately responsibility for Aidan falls to Matt. You need to stop the passive-aggressive behavior.

I add coffee grounds to mum's flowerbeds and to my compost pile back home. I also add crushed egg shells to my compost pile but I wash them well and give them a whir in my food blender with a bit of water first.

So in the last little while a migraine has made itself known. None of the slow roiling of ominous clouds on the horizon. No, this one arrived in a sudden tempest of thunder and searing bolts of lightening. Gone are the plans for some tidying up and enjoying a lovely day outdoors. Instead I've retraeted to a darkened room and stronger meds and hope to sleep. Blessed be y'all.

A 6 foot alligator has taken up residence in the pond out back.

Mum wondered who that was waving. Decided it must have been some friendly ancient biker in town for the annual bike fest. Congrats to both young women on their accomplishments and to their parents.

Poor Matt. I was lucky, my son didn't favor one parent over the other and wasn't too terrible. I have however known a couple of very difficult kids. One had parents who teamed up and were consistent and he came around pretty quickly. The other had a mom, a single parent, who consistently caved. Even as a teen that boy could work her to get what he wanted. Fortunately a couple of us dads would sort of sit on him and say "oh no buddy that doesn't fly". He'd act resentful when we did but at the same time willingly follow the rules we'd set for our kids. I do question how he could walk out the door with laundry in the washer and dirty dishes in the dishwasher and not go back and deal with them for months.

My thought is if they think waiting 3 months and doing another scan is an option they are not concerned that your situation is dire. My stepdad went through a similiar thing and it turned out okay. I would take today's visit as a positive.

G'day y'all. Thistle and I retreated back to bed for a couple hours. The sun has returned but as oft happens the shift in pressure has brought on a migraine. It's also chilly, 49/9° before dawn and at midmorning has only warmed to 54/12°. Considerably colder than normal for this time of year. Blessed be.

The magnolias and gardenias are beginning to bloom.

More than 40% of the gas stations in this area are out of fuel because of the Colonial pipeline shut down. Fortunately I had filled my tank a couple of days ago and mum's car has a mostly full tank too. If things go as expected the pipeline will be functioning again by the end of the week and another week should see things mostly back to normal. Until then we'll not be making unnecessary trips in the car.
