  1. This was taken just prior to the Happy Hour/Thursday Trivia Night rush.
  2. The rain finally arrived last evening and continued until after midnight with some heavy downpours. Fortunately no tornado or heavy wind damage but there was flooding in some areas. At one nearby park the water level in the creek rose nearly 15 foot from when we walked there yesterday. A portion of the park and the nearby road were flooded. Today is a mix of clouds and sun and humid.

I wouldn't say they were distracting, more just a case of different rythm. I think you should continue the experiment
  4. Thanks for the hugs. So far the heavy rain hasn't materialized though we remain under severe storm, tornado and flash flood watches.
  5. I'm having fried potatoes scrambled with eggs and crumbled bacon. Going for comfort foods this morning. Blessed be y'all.
  6. I used ground chicken breast to make bbq then added homemade coleslaw to make wraps plus I steamed two ears of fresh corn on the cob. Dessert was some of the fresh peach cobbler I made on Sat.
  7. It's been a wet showery morning here. Heavier rain with the potential for flash floods are forecast for later today as TS Fred passes. My head aches ...
  8. Hi Page ... Yeah, I know it isn't a pup but the kid is sorta cute ...

    Chapter 40

You've got a wolf falling in love and mating a cernunnos and vice versa and you say there is no magic. Not to mention the whole shifter trope, that in itself is magic.

I forgot to ask is this your own or a style you encountered elsewhere.

They work. While the image doesn't quite fit the words I visualize these as a dance. Oddly, when I read them aloud their flow was more stilted, like someone dancing an unknown step but when read silently the dancer was much more confident and moved fluidly. If I had first read them aloud I would say it was my own familiarity. However, as is my usual practice, I read them silently at first and then aloud, then because of my odd sense again silently. The image held though I am at a loss as to why. Nonetheless, I think your experiment a success.
  12. Thistle doesn't have the goggles but he does have a yellow slicker raincoat.
  13. I wish I could divert TS Fred in your direction Albert. The forecast is for gully washer rains here from late tonight into sometime tomorrow evening.
  14. I suspect Mitch didn't have any truly close friends left after Wes, Lee and Dan were killed. There likely wasn't much joy left to him in that dusty place. Learning he had little time left was the spur that sent him off in search of some comfort. I believe he knew in his heart if he could reach them Boone and Coy would provide for him in the end. Now, is it serendipitous that he knows Will? A final chance to mend an abiding hurt? Time will tell ...
  15. A male goldfinch just landed among my purple coneflowers. He's the first I've seen this summer though I've seen others in years past. I had thought about cutting the flowers back to encourage them to rebloom but since the finches are feeding on the seeds I'll leave them.
  16. Hey B, are you awake?
  17. Very much like what happened 20 odd years ago when they first gained control of the country. I feel for those people, especially the young women about to be forced into chattelhood.
  18. I'd gladly send you a bit of the lovely day we're having here. Bright sunshine, 80/27° with comfortable humidity and a gentle breeze.
  19. Mmmm Channing ... looks magical.
  20. There has been a 7.2 earthquake in Haiti. Over 200 killed. What 's worse, they are in the path of the next tropical storm.
  21. ... or a generalized befuddlement.
  22. Greetings Albert. It's an up and down day. I had chores needing doing so I got up and worked at them until my head aches too much then I lay down until it eased, then I got up again and worked at them until ... . Fortunately I've got most done so the pup and I are relaxing in the shade. There's a dozen ears of corn in the refrigerator that need to have the kernels cut off and cooked in order to freeze but I think that will wait until tomorrow.
  23. He's one of @Valkyrie's. You now how sis gets when she thinks I'm taking liberties.
  24. Hi Page. Thanks for the scratches.
  25. Aww geez, I told him to strip off if he was gonna play in that murky water, that no one here would mind. What does he do? You can tell he's one of @Valkyrie's boys.
