  1. Robby Steinhardt has died.
  2. Thank you. He's still hurting this morning, when he tucked his rump to do his business there were groans and whimpers. He manages the single step in and out of the house with a slow gentle step rather than his usual hop and wants lifted up to sit with me in the recliner. Where he is able to rest quietly. Massaging gently along his spine does not cause any flinching or whimpers indicating pain. I can't feel anything out of joint. He isn't limping or favoring a leg so I don't think it's an injury to his weak knee. I'll continue pain meds and rest. I'm holding off on a vet visit as we're due to leave for PA next Wed. and I'd prefer to wait for our vet. He's sleeping now.
  3. While this fire is enormous it currently ranks fourth in overall size and second in forest fires in Oregon's history. It's burning in a sparsely populated area, no one has died, property loss has been low. It's current spread is into even less populated areas consisting primarily of ranches and secluded forest. Were this fire to be in more densely peopled California the situation would be dire. Locale matters greatly. From what I read this morning. Fires of this nature typically burn until autumn rains put them out.
  4. Page! Hi! Thistle isn't quite 100%. He tweaked his back yesterday. Fortunately we have some meds for pain and an anti-inflammatory and they are helping him be more comfortable.
  5. The NHL has it's first active out gay player, Luke Prokop of the Nashville Predators.
  6. And scratches behind the ear and tummy rubs ... uhm, sorry ... I got him mixed-up with the other cute fella who cuddles with me.
  7. It is indeed. It's also kinda warm and muggy outside.
  8. Remember to charge the 10% shipping and handling.
  9. She charged you $100 for a piece of her birthday cake? Why didn't I think of doing that?

I would so like to see Rick look at his father and say "I'm just an employee and I can quit." That might set the old man back on his heels.
  13. Back home in PA alot of hay is cut by horse drawn mowers so the farmers can get into a wet field without doing the damage a tractor might. Still need the dry days to bale. They usually cut one day, rake the next and bale on the third. Of course they need to allow for Sunday as nothing gets done in the fields then. It's not unusal to see hay cut Friday or Saturday and allowed to lay on Sunday before raking or baling on Monday. I've seen them rake Monday am and bale in the afternoon.
  14. I'm hearing a few rumbles in the distance. The forecast is suggesting we're going to get a good soaking rain in the next 36-48 hrs. We need it things are getting dry again.
  15. It's currently 84/29° with 84% humidity, it feels like 97/36°. As a certain handsome young man in MI might say ... it's too hot to do anything out of doors.
  16. And they're all on his front lawn ...
  17. Sorry to hear your plans for the day were thwarted.
  18. Pigs are one of mum's favorite animals ...

    Capriccio

I had begun reading this a while ago but laid it aside as it hit far too close to my heart. I've returned with every intention of finishing this time.
