  1. G'day y'all. Tis a cool damp overcast morning with a bit of breeze. Some rain overnight with more showers in the forecast. Took Thistle for a shortened walk this morning, only 2 miles instead of four, before heading to market for a few things. My head aches today. Likely due to a combination of changeable weather and the fact I'm coming up on when the next series of injections is due. Anyway having a bit of laydown. Blessed be.
  2. Oh my brother, would that I could draw you close to ease your banishment. We are social creatures the need for contact hardwired. We need to feel life through another's touch. Is it any wonder that the number of those experiencing depression has exploded? Sad that so often sacrifice is expected of others not the ones who deem it necessary. Thank you as always for your words.
  3. By which bit?
  4. I had a large salad of romaine lettuce with bits of rare roast beef and crispy onions with a summer tomato dressing.
  5. I very much like orange chicken or beef. My first introduction was 30+ years ago. A local place made tangerine beef. Only place I've ever encountered it and it was wonderful. Sadly they closed in the late 1990's.

Both Mum and I are well thanks. As always Mum sends her love.
  7. Thought it must because the melon contains so much water. Mum and I typically make jam using equals amounts of fruit and sugar and cooking it until it thickens. This sounds good.
  8. G'day y'all what a difference a few days make. Last week we had temps in excess of 90/32° with extreme humidity. Currently it's 69/21° with moderate humidity and overcast. The forecast is calling for rain later today and overnight. I mowed my yard this morning after pruning the pines to avoid the need to duck my head repeatedly during said mowing. I learned this morning that the lady nextdoor has tested positive for COVID. She started feeling poorly the end of last week and was tested. She began to feel better over the weekend and feels okay today but must remain in quarantine until September 5th. Her husband who has no symptoms must quarantine for the next 10 days. He was told they will not test him unless he shows symptoms. Fortunately my interactions with them have been limited to infrequent across the yard chats so I'm not concerned. Blessed be.
  9. Well it must be one great story because he's a damn fine home stretch ...
  10. That's what mum says too. In her younger days mum had a weight issue. During her nurse's training she lost the weight and never regained it. The majority of her nursing was as office nurse for doctor's in private practice. In addition to nursing she also acted as a dietitian helping patients establish healthy eating. She said if you deprive yourself of something you really enjoy you're more likely to eventually binge on it. Better to make it an occasional treat.
  11. Watermelon jam? That's one I've not heard of before. Do you need to add pectin to get it to gel?

Thank you tim. If just one of those colors is missing the box is incomplete. Thanks for reminding us that each is necessary.
  13. May you have spiced chai? That's my favorite drink on those cold raw days of late winter.
  14. Still waiting for the cold front to pass through. Just had a brief heavy shower that could be the start. Spent about 5 hours at the shop squaring it away for the faire season. Have about an hour's worth to complete tomorrow.
  15. Starbuck's brought back Pumpkin Spice lattes this week ... Mum loves them, me not as much, I can and will drink one it's just not my favorite.
  16. I laughed ...
  17. G'day y'all. No early morning walk for us today ... it's a "soft" morning. Despite it being warm enough at 74/23° to be out I just don't feel like getting wet. Too, Thistle is content to be snuggled up and doze a bit more. The forecast is for intermittent showers/light rain and moderate temps with a line of heavier storms later in the day before a cold front pushes through to bring cooler less humid weather for tomorrow.
  18. Wow! That's fantastic ...
  19. But first he'll need to shave ... I think it's something more like a "really Martin, you want me to strip ... wallpaper" look.
  20. Yeah, what B said ...
  21. You provide a compelling review.
  22. OH, YES PLEASE ... wait, was that my outside voice? Hmmfp, who cares, I want to kilt this one ... but first I need to take an inside leg ... I swear he's looking directly into my eyes ...
  23. Thanks. You as well, bro.
  24. G'day y'all. It's noticeably warmer and more humid than yesterday. Yesterday was an absolutely lovely summer's day. Moderate temp, low humidity and a light breeze. Spent some time working in the yard, then my biweekly massage, a bit of lunch then the weekly call with mum. We chatted the entire afternoon, 4 hours. Today is going to be hot and humid. Forecast is for a high around 96/36° and tropical humidity. The heat index is expected to hit triple digits. No working outdoors today. Blessed be.
