Nope, it wasn't supposed to go up until Saturday (March 25). Sigh. It seems the rest of the chapters are hidden again, though - well, at least in a different browser where I am not logged in. I'm going to have to go check and make sure the publication system will launch the remaining chapters at the right times starting on April 1 for the next chapter. I went back and forth trying to decide whether to write these as approximate 'day of' entries, or to incorporate them as flashbacks. I ended up settling on flashbacks, because it makes sense in the diary format that John would want to talk about current things along with some cathartic writing about what happened to him. I guess some people could retroactively write diary entries, but that's not how John is treating it. But you are right, knowing that he's been rescued and is to one extent or another going to be okay is definitely helpful in dealing with the darkness.

I've lost a lot of respect for Declan in this chapter. I thought he had a bit more guts than this.

It seems my earlier attempt to comment failed, so here's the essence of what I wrote before: So satisfying, everything about this chapter. It's the stuff we've been waiting for. The romances are just beginning, but there is lots left in this tale, eh? Where will this journey take us next? Fendral still lurks in the shadows, reminding us there are more mysteries left to solve and much more mission left.

Definitely points scored for Jackson, thanks to Olivia's prodding. I really liked the interactions with Jackson's Mom. It was very real and very non-cliché. The fact that Jackson's father has even spotted what is happening is telling, given how absent he is. Can't wait to see the end of this date (finally a real one!), and what might go down at the paintball arena.

And I thank you for resisting the temptation... I noticed last night that the time for the chapter to go live had came and gone and it hadn't published so I did it myself... I'm not sure if the following chapters were already visible at that point (though supposedly unpublished), or if my fiddling broke the system. It's frustrating, but I guess we have to be patient for now. Hopefully this will be all settled by next week and we can move back to our regularly scheduled programming. As far as this turn of events goes... well, maybe you'll understand in a few weeks. I can totally understand it being difficult to like.
