I'm sure they are both in need of some reassurance. Their relationship is already considerably complex and they've barely been 'together' - less than 24 hours! New love can be hard to believe in sometimes, for some people. How can this awesome person want to be with you? It just takes time, I guess.

    Thyme

Thanks Gary. The weather lately was another source of inspiration, all this weirdness and now back to the cold again... sigh.

    Thyme

Thanks for reading and enjoying. I found an old recording of a choir I once sang with and was inspired by a folk song we sang for one concert. This thyme was taken in a different direction, though.

    boy

Simultaneously tender in erotic. It's a difficult relationship to put into perspective in so few words, eh? Well done.
  5. January 01 2022 I’m in L.A. now. I’m staying at a Hilton. I probably should have gone somewhere cheaper, but fuck it. I want to sleep on a nice bed with some good amenities, free wifi and a decent gym. And I didn’t want to deal with families vacationing on the cheap with their screaming children, or get eaten alive by bedbugs while worrying a cheap hooker high on crack was going to fall out of my closet. I was late getting to the airport – well, later than I wanted to

    Thyme

A flash in the dark Lightning, piercing the night Unexpectedly out of season Warmth gives way to grey Chills and snow An unusual respite no longer They say it’s unusual The opposite of the way Things should be But as we all know By now, things are Never what they seem Time slips by The body grows old And even the world falls apart The sprig of thyme Which flourished night and day Must dry and wilt away But oils and smells essential Are left behind Powerful
  7. Nice beginning for this new story. Curious to see where it goes - you've surprised me in the past with my idea of where things are going being completely different than the path they take. Although, usually you weren't as dark as my thoughts. Looking forward to more.

    Chapter 7

Almost perfect. Such an important phrase. It's even more difficult to deal with the tug between Aleksei's fears and the support of his sisters. Good choice showing this now. Liam is moving on with his education now. Will he move on with Nathan? Or will Aleksei move on with his life and come out? Would that even be enough?
  9. Another introspective tonight after writing an emotionally complex bit of prose. I think Fauré's Pavane, Op. 50, is in order:
  10. I totally get what you're saying, especially in that passage. It's been a long time since I've heard this concerto. Thanks for bringing it up!
  11. Heartbreaking but with so much hope for the future Arthur and Sybil can build. His quick recovery is telling of how strong Kellar is becoming, with Tobyn's help and support. And now the possibility of a third destination! Wonderful.
  12. Realistically? Hit it out of the park? Well thank you, I'm glad you liked it and that it worked. And yeah, I thought it deserved more than a typical journal entry so I decided to change the format a bit, just for this one. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the day's sunshine. It was beautiful. Thanks for reading and reviewing, as always!
  13. LOL Well, I knew I was finally going to make you happy with this one. It's been a long journey to get to this point, but things aren't going to be simple just because they made it here. Life's never simple, is it? Thanks for reading.
  14. Thank you for reading! I'm glad you liked it.
  15. I really liked the soup of the day imagery. Well done with the metering, too. :-)
  16. December 31 2021 This is going to be a long one, and it’s all so vivid and important to me that I just need to write it all down while I still have it fresh in my memory. I’m writing this now on New Years’ Day because I was too tired at the end of the night and… well, you’ll see. I’m actually going to write dialogue here, that’s how clear and important last night felt. Besides, I’m on a flight to Los Angeles and I don’t have anything better to do for another four hours… Ha, look at me, I’

    Chapter 18

I've enjoyed this story thoroughly. Thanks for sharing this with us. I'd like to echo Wesley8890 and say that Steve and Keidan's adventure with Jacob would be an interesting exploration to read if you are up for it. No pressure, though.
  18. I guess it depends on what era(s) the course covers. The French Baroque tends to get ignored other than a passing reference to Lully, Couperin and maybe Rameau unless someone wants to add a woman composer into the mix and then we hear about Jacquet de la Guerre (who is definitely worthy of discussion in her own right). Of course, I say that when it's my area of expertise lol. I do think, though, that general western music history courses tend to fail at touching on countries/composers outside of the monoliths, and maybe more importantly fail to give much connection to the cultural and historical context - who was at war, what was being invented, etc. It's a lot to cover though, so I don't know how it can all be fit in.

    Chapter 23

Oh my God, this chapter was beyond awesome. So much happening here. I think I keep saying this, but I really love the way you bring little details into the picture that paints everything in more vivid strokes. So Jackson's mom knows. I wonder how Luke would have reacted if she had answered him, and not just to Jackson. Such an emotional moment. Well done. The contrast between all of the parents in this story is also an interesting thing, as is the way we see it expressed in each of Jackson's friends. This chapter set up a lot more tension - Luke's fear and Jackson's less fearful but still worried attitude in the light of all those factors, from Ally's terse smile to Cindzilla. Sigh. Can't wait for more.

    To My Disease

I think you already know my thoughts, to one extent or another. Thanks for sharing this.
  21. Awesome, quick little struggle and resolution. The attacker was who I thought it would be. Now, was he only there to get Ritch and kill or take back him +/- Park, or does that alpha have more cards in the game? I wonder if this little piggy will squeal when he wakes up.

    Mind's Prison

in a way. So many relatable feelings and emotions, expressed so well. The ending was just what I needed today, in the depths of my typical February darkness. Good serendipitous timing, eh? Keep on going, remember the bars but don't touch them. Remember the escape.
  23. Great chapter, and such a great connection to earlier at the end. The moment you said Arthur my brain had this moment of trying to remember something feom earlier and now I see why. I love it, and you are just making the packs another strength to draw upon. Can't wait to see how this news affects Vega.
  24. I don't think Bobby nor John could have handled an immediate confrontation like that. I'm having a good time imagining what that scene would have been like, were John in a more confident place. Thanks for reading, Gary!
