  1. so here it is that final moment but I'm not quite finished it's not quite time to walk away there is too much left unfinished, unspoken, unsaid the mark left only a shallow ghost of wasted potential wanting to let go yet tied back still all those little things chores of failure to be packed away the vastness before me is terrifying in its immensity cobbled wings of wax and paper may not be enough to cross this is freedom but gravity is still a chain unbroken unyiel

    Chapter 14

Ah, now this makes more sense. Dude is even creepier than before. Yuck.

Umm... are we missing chapter 14?

    Chapter 31

Love the mounting tension. I still have these bad vibes about Radford that I'may having trouble dispelling. I guess it should be that way?
  6. Arthur Rubinstein play's Saint-Saëns' 2nd Piano Concerto. Need more be said?
  7. I'm a bit late, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! You're the bestest!

    Chapter 22

Oh my, we'll we knew things were getting going and they definitely have! Looking forward to seeing where you go with this. Just a little typo - at the beginning, you've used Thomas' name at one point when you clearly meant Jason.
  9. Awesome chapter. So much love for Warren, and I am so glad you saw it through the whole way and didn't play the cliffhanger game with our hearts.
  10. John definitely has no shortage of Pride, whether helpful and justified or not. It's both funny and horrible how Bobby is such a psychological Flashpoint for John that he could provoke such an overwhelming episode when John's had things under at least a manageable level of control for a few years years. I wonder how John's relationship with Dom interacted with his PTSD... I am glad you think this was a great chapter. It's one I like the most, along with Halloween and maybe some others yet to come.
  11. Even if things were more solid and friendly in a way John would admit, I think at this point it is safe to say that John is too afraid of the feelings that they would inevitably draw out of his heart again. He's not prepared to deal with that.

    End of Days

Some powerful words, especially the second poem. I relate all to well to the anger and disgust at a concept of a 'loving' God of 'mysterious ways' that seem only callous, arbitrary, and full of schadenfreude. I won't say more than that or this will become a rant. Hugs to you.
  13. December 01, 2021 Today I shackled myself with a set of essays that I know are going to be complete shit. How do I know they are going to be shit? Because almost none of the students in either of my Lit classes understood the reading I assigned them yesterday at all. A good chunk of them didn’t even do it in the first place. Hell, the ones that did read it probably only skimmed it. Pissed me off, so about a quarter of the way through class I decided they were getting a quic

    Chapter 13

    I'm giggling. A cute little chapter. :-)

    Chapter 30

Hmm, I don't think I have any words for this chapter but grouchy and uncomfortable. Not the best way for the boys to start the new day, perhaps.
  16. Astor Piazzola (1921-1992) was one of Argentina's most famous composers and bandoneon players. He is responsible for the evolution of the nuevo tango style, through his use of jazz/extended harmonies, counterpoint, . 'Oblivion' (1982), written as a piece of film music, may perhaps be one of his most famous compositions.
  17. 'Three Variations on Plum Blossom' is an ancient piece from the classical Chinese zither repertoire, originating in the 5th century Eastern Jin dynasty. This interpretation here is on the guzheng, a large Chinese box zither with movable bridges. The piece can often also be heard performed on the qin, a smaller but somewhat more intimidating 'scholarly' zither, and the pipa, a Chinese lute. I was trying to find a recording by Han Mei, a personal acquaintance who is both a master of the instrument and an ethnomusicologist of northwestern Chinese peoples and the Uighur peoples, but alas I could not find it. Oh well, this will have to do.
  18. Well, I'm half a week late, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
  19. Be still my beating heart! (And other parts...)
  20. I like what this chapter has set into motion. You really did a great job bringing back some of the tensions that felt somewhat alleviated with the end of the last chapter. How much of what's going to happen with Ally is just in his head, and how much worse will that make things (or ease things?) when the truth comes out (literally). It was in some ways good to see impatient, petulant Jackson again to remind us of that side of his character. He's not infallible, and he needs the brakes put on sometimes. I am glad that he was able to hold back with Tony. I wonder how Jackson would feel if he considered how he himself would likely act were he in Aiden's position. Perhaps they aren't as dissimilar as he'd expect.

    Chapter 12

Nice chapter! You packed a lot of progress into this small space. It's incredible that you managed to turn Warren from antagonist to sympathetic character this quickly. I hope things can work out. Maybe Toni can introduce Warren and Matt and see what happens? Lol, yeah love don't work like that but it *is* high school after all.
  22. Oh dear! Well, this was a wonderful welcome-back chapter. Keep up the good work, as best you can and at your own pace.
  23. Thanks for reading! John's going to need that calm in a couple days...
  24. Feeling a little down and worn tonight, so maybe one of Rameau's greatest emotional airs is approrpiate - the beginning of act IV from Dardanus, 'Lieux funestes'. A tenor friend of mine cried a bit the first time he heard this when he came over curious about my collection of DVD and CD recordings of various Baroque operas. In this scene Dardanus has been locked away, torn from his love Iphise and doomed to die while her hand is given to his undeserving and unloved rival.
  25. November 29, 2021 I talked to Vange again today. She was able to get some statements from a number of people back in L.A. that we could use as evidence in the suit. There were a few others among the names I’d suggested that had given a refusal, but she told them that they may be given a subpoena anyway if the case did go on to be heard before court. We’d need to subpoena Dom’s bank records along with my own to try and show that his cash was coming pretty much exclusiv
