  1. Thanks for all the responses. Very cool seeing what everyone wanted to be and those who actual made it. I’m happy with my accomplishments even if they weren’t my childhood dreams, more like an adult facing the reality of providing for myself, but I make a real good living as a surgical nurse.
  2. Happy Birthday Andy! I know it's early, but you know you love all of the attention Have a great one! KC
  3. As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Me…don’t laugh, but when I was real little I wanted to be a nun. How cool would it be to live in a great big church? Well, I kept telling everyone that I was going to be a nun and it wasn’t until my Mom burst my bubble and told me, first only girls could be nuns and second you had to be Catholic, which we weren’t. So, then I decided that I would be a paleontologist and started digging in the backyard. I never became one, but still love to go caving and search for fossils. So what was your childhood dream and did you ever become it?

    Midnight Sea

Stirred very strong emotions. I've been in that same place in my past and it brought a bunch of old feelings flooding back. Sad but I really like it.
  5. Very Interesting!
  6. Don’t get me wrong- Weddings are wonderful and fun and Yes, Kate was Beautiful but I agree with Matt. There are too many important issues in the world for the entire universe to stop for them. Real Issues are dropped to the back burner. News like this should be on designated channels/sites/papers so IF you want to see it you can and IF you want to know what else is going on in the world… you can.
  7. Weddings are nice but there is so much more important things going on in the world.
  8. We had lots of flooding but not too much damage beyond a few trees down. My prayers and thoughts to those hit much much worse.

    Born

I’m happy with who I am. If someone doesn’t like me, that’s their fault. The door’s thataway------------------->

    Chapter 1

    What a refreshing view on a cat's life...lives.
  11. Oh Bob, So sorry to hear that. I will be sending positive thoughts your way no matter what you decide to do.

    Kindle

Don't know, I have a Sony e-book. I can reformat and download GA stories to that one. Oh and mine is a few years old so I don't know if the newer ones can still do the same incase you were thinking of getting one.
  13. Don’t get me started on Googling yourself! I love to Googled myself. I’m not narcissistic, really. I didn’t want to see if I could find something on ME. I know all of the facts about me. With more than 6 billion people on this earth, anyone who thinks that they are the only Michael Jones or Bill Miller or KC Grim for that matter, is mistaken. Viewing someone else’s Facebook page or MySpace is just creepy. Their pictures with my name is so weird. 1,470,000 hits using the combination ‘KC Grim’ alone. My Mom is a Polish Immigrant with what I thought was a very unique name, but it was freaky to read her obituary…when she’s not dead. Is there any name that is still original? Are there any words that haven’t been spoken or written already? Not likely. But it doesn’t make me feel any less original, one of a kind, or unique knowing there is another KC Grim out there? Nope…I’m still me!
  14. I'm like you guys, my FB profile is linked to my friends, family, co-workers and old classmates, but I'm still careful what I post. I have a kid who looks at my profile (on FB... NOT GA!) and everything I post is what I would say to someone in public- nobody needs that much information. If I wouldn't say it out loud then don't post it... that's my my rule. I didn't know until the other day that you could link your GA with FB, that's so not happening!
  15. Good start. I can't wait to read more.

    Waiting For Death

That is the fastest I've ever read! Flying over every word, needing more. Tragic yet Beautiful. For some reason I thought they were angels taking him away from the pain.
  17. Oh my goodness, a tazer? Really??
  18. I don't believe that. I agree that there is a large portion of society that is in committed relationships and the people on the market is slim pickings, but there is always a chance to find love. It's usually when you stop looking that you find it.
  19. TetRefine, you stole the words right out of my mouth. My Grandfather was killed at age 59 leaving my Grandmother alone. She lived another 25 years and found love a few more times on her way. She never remarried but she was very loved. I feel so lucky that I found the love of my life so young, but If something happened to either of us, I would hope that we would go on to love again! Everyone needs that chance.
  20. I wear scrubs almost every day and thank goodness they have lots of pockets. I always have my cell phone, 2-3 pens (people steal them!) my keys, some change and my bank card and chapstick. (I'm addicted to chapstick!) I do carry my backpack which is usually crammed full of a change of clothes and a couple of notebooks!
  21. Hahaha! I love that just in case we can't figure out what your carrying, you put up pictures to show us!
  22. The key slid smoothly into the door. No fumbling…the metal didn’t catch…there was no hesitation at all as it sank into place. My pulse pounded in my ears. With one turn, the silver shinny key clicked the door unlocked. I waited…silence. There was no sound from inside. “Go in!” My voice screamed inside my head as I stood there in the hallway with my hand hovering above the doorknob. The industrial cage used for an elevator suddenly lurched. I jerked, gasping for air, I shook my head
  23. Yeah, I have a broken leg right now from falling down the 3 steps outside my house...I'd be dead if that was my job!
  24. A treat? Really? I carry a little notebook with me and write down all my random thoughts and story lines. I also have one beside my bed so I can write down everything that happens in my dreams. As far as getting it on the computer screen? I try to have a well planned out story line with good characters and plot before I type a single key. That helps it flow better when I already know what I want to say. Good job at getting to a great start!
