And things were going so well...damn! This was an amazing setup, you managed to surprise me with the last scene. Deliciously devious, that's what you are. Now we have to wait to see just which group has SarEr, and do they have Zun? Wicked cliffhangers!

It's true that love conquers all, and Mira's in love. Not a word wasted in this chapter, and we find out more about the situation. Konstantin unfolds, and I'm in love now. I'm glad Leon died in vivid agony, -you did that scene better than any seasoned vamp-genre writer I've ever read...and they'll never even know! -And I still want to slap Shay on the back of his head for not telling what he knows.

There hasn't been a dull chapter in this story yet. This one opens a whole new set of complexities and makes the plot get even more complicated. Somehow, I know you'll pull it all together, -and that is the appeal here. Thanks. A great story and a joy to read.

Chapter 17 Hopelessly Devoted...
Stephen commented on Naptowngirl's story chapter in Chapter 17 Hopelessly Devoted...
A wonderful chapter. Christian is getting his life back, and it's prime. I agree with everybody else: David is an angel, -a sexy one. He has to be to go through a second formal wedding! The kids are a delight, loved the Pee Monster. I'll have to tell my friends w/kids about that one! I do, however, think there's something nasty out there in Christian's forgotten past that may turn the crank a bit just when everything's going so well... I enjoy each chapter, pleased to know there's more to come. -
So Han never figured out who the inside enemy is? I wonder if Jiro still works for SarEr's father. Ahmon seems to have a better grasp on things than Han after only a few minutes. He doesn't let on that he knows SarEr either. This is all complicated, but intriguing. You mentioned something about a spider's web? HA! The relationship between SarEr and Cole seems destined to be rocky, and Momma doesn't even know about it yet! You aren't going to make it easy for them, are you?

I enjoyed this chapter, and it's nice to have Jordan back. Shawn's father seems like a caring, no bullshit kind of man, and he seems to have a good relationship with his son. Jordan should be grateful he's not all questions. Our guys are getting pretty serious. Now I'm curious to see about how Jordan's family will fit in to things. What's having a little girl around going to do to the happy picture?

This was a lovely chapter. There is a depth to a mature relationship that you've done well in portraying. The intensity of youth still lurks, -much to our chagrin, but experience rules. Like the others who've commented, I find this story is like fresh air. Thanks, I can always use a little of that.

Another riveting chapter...you've given us even more to worry over! I hope Shay learns to stop being so gullible soon, before someone or something kills him. I read the whole picnic trap part with my teeth clenched! Shay will have to open up some now, -only to the right people this time. There's so much mystery, and I'm really enjoying this story.

I'm happy to see your latest chapter today, and this one packs a punch! Andrew's father finally showed his true colors and they aren't pretty. He's just a bigoted, small-minded little man with too much self importance and too little time for his son. He's really creepy the way he insisted on driving Brian home himself so calmly and then beating Andrew. I'm surprised that he didn't wait until all the witnesses were gone. You'd think that all the loss in the family would have shown him a bit of humility. Poor Andrew! And what about Rain? Something tells me that the plot will only thicken...

The intricate webs have begun to close in on things. Now you throw in another double vortex, and nobody knows where it'll end. You've kept things waiting. I love it...

Zun tells SarEr that he is creating a life that is equivelent to a tme bomb. Zun is wise, -not a fool, or someone to be ignored. He knows the whole story. An amazing friend.

6 More chapters only left? Why boil it down when you can move at your current pace. You can burn the witch anytime now, that'd make us all happy. It's just that you have put more on the plate, and we want answers. Or am I being selfish?

I missed this story when you first started it, but am at chapter 9 now. This is an intriguing story set into a world of modern East Asia that we all know a little bit, but not much about in regards to really how it'd be like to try to fly low and live well just under the radar. A spider's web. Good weaving!

A rather sad, but interesting chapter overall. I feel for Tanner's family, all their grief and the lack of answers about his death. Now we'll see if they get the small relief of knowing who killed him and why. Just how did Tanner know about Gibby and the fire before he moved to Shepherd's Crook? More odd goings on to be revealed I suppose... I've grown attached to this story and your characters, so thanks again for the good work, -and the surprises!

I'm enjoying tis story. I laughed at Lem always having to muck out the stalls, since I seem to be the only one that had to do that when I was a kid. Did the chickens too!

Thanks for another great chapter, I'm glad the wild dolphins were saved. Sonic is such a little charmer, and the three boys are lovable young heroes. So we have even more new mysteries this chapter! The only theory I have so far is that this hidden conflict is deeper than anyone knows, and it isn't just about Earth's wild dolphins, which have been the focus of direct attacks. Will it move to space next? -Thanks again for the great story.

I love Max. Are you going on with this story?
-
I like it. You could make it into a new story, -if you don't have too much on your plate already...and I'd certainly read it.
-
Yes, I agree with the others, this story grabs you like an alien and there's no escape! Your writing puts you right in the middle of the action and has the reader worrying about things as much as your characters do. I would have had all three bad guys killed there at the end, but that'd be no fun for later. Can't wait...Excellent story!

Another entertaining chapter. I'm enjoying the whole ghostly aspect turn, even if it likely will end after Tanner's purpose is fulfilled. At least Gibby has a friend now, and he's beginning to chip away at the shell of isolation he's been trapped in. It's ironic that a dead boy is doing what the shrinks couldn't.
-
I'm really enjoying this story. What an amazing imagination you have, although that doesn't really surprise me. I love the reference to 'Whatever Lola Wants'. I'm impatient to know about what's behind these attacks on dolphins, so hurry up with the next chapter!

Grief is complicated, that fact I know well. This story tells so much about grief and of it's manifestations; and does it in so few words. Then it ends with such a positive realism that makes it shine. I don't think that it's possible to prepare oneself for the hopeless sadness that grief causes, but this story shows how it ends, and that is a true gift. Thank you.

Zen Buddhism has always seemed to be an ethereal thing to me, like those images of people sitting lotus on little clouds in ancient Chinese screens...Well, now I know a bit more, thanks to this story. There is a drive to eliminate pain and suffering by experiencing it at the Zen Torture Retreat! Seriously, that place is stark! I would have died the first frigid night, stuck to my humble straw bedmat. The image of ice cream sandwiches comes to mind...then there is torture by riddle. Roshi Matsuda is a wonderful enigma. Vic is a walking venality. That must be the reason the Master keeps him around, as a cautionary example of what not to be and do. The pared-down cast of characters matches the setting and that is a wonderful touch. A very balanced story with a little Nirvana tossed in. I loved it. In a way it was like a poem.

Wicked chapter! -Amanda's outa control! Does she really think Ethan will love her after killing Tanner, and pointing a gun at his head? On the other hand, she does really follow her own twisted logic. Tanner appearing as a spirit is an unexpected tactic, and I like it. I hope he develops better timing or he might send Gibby over the edge too.

Chapter 11 A Night On the Town...
Stephen commented on Naptowngirl's story chapter in Chapter 11 A Night On the Town...
What an excellent chapter. I felt right there with them in the restaurant. I think the story's pace is just right, after all, Christian's going through trying to figure out who he is, AND falling in love again is a heavy load. I'm glad he's got a native strength of character that keeps him moving forward. David's an angel; -I'd be frustrated as hell in his position. Lovely description of Boston, is that a real club you describe? I did miss the kids in this chapter though. I look forward to the next one. Thanks to you again for the great read.
