  1. It's a natural phenomenon for any groups to exclude/ostracize the different because it's been seen as a threat. It often happens unintentionally in the beginning and sometimes they're even right. People do this, animals do this. It's one of the reasons for mobbing also. To overcome this 'natural reaction' you have to use your brain, actively see there is no threat, be open minded. How many people complain about being ostracized by a group, but do the same in their own group without noticing? When we use the word 'normal' what do we mean? Do we exclude someone by using this word? It's the small things we have to be careful of, like using normal or not normal around kids, if we want it to become better. And then there is always revenge: they did this to us now we do it to them. Illogical, stupid but human unfortunately. Another thing we have actively not to do.
  2. If I would name him other than above mentioned, his name would be Tristan. I love this name and try to have one in every of my stories. The name means riot or tumult, the perfect name for my muse. Other sources say it means knight also. It can never be wrong to have a knight around somewhere, right?.
  3. Depends on our mood: Come on hun. Don't do that to me, SOB. Where are you, sweetie?
  4. What? He had to change school? Considering this his father reacted remarkable civil when Bay finally came out. Or was that another stereotype: Gays are pedophiles? I have a thing for voices too.
  5. I found a shady tree to sit under, the dogs are hunting whatever they are hunting and I have finally the time to read your story. Nice beginning and so true. What I liked the most? What you said about Queen. Love them. Next chapter...
  6. Yeah next question: What do we do if the muse gets overexcited? Give him/her a beer? Go to the gym? Read other writer's work?
  7. Awww give him a cuddle from mine; his mood is decidedly better today. I revised two chapters of RRS and started to write the final chapter of my WIP.
  8. Now that I'm awake I remember that some use 'they' when they want to use a gender-neutral personal pronoun as a subject pronoun, whether that is right or wrong I don't know. Kitt?
  9. I know this sounds wrong for so many reasons but the proper pronoun would be 'it' - gender-neuter lol. Of course we wouldn't use it, because an 'it' isn't normally a person , not even a mythical. Das~ is a relative pronoun. In Thorn's sentence it would be 'es~'. In the German language we use 'es' (it), if the noun is gender-neuter or we don't know the gender, for example child (Kind). The problem is we have gender-specific articles, which means even 'things' like 'table' have a gender. If I would say 'der Muse or mein Muse', because my muse is male it would sound horrible wrong in German, a muse has to be female. In English it is 'the muse', much more simple. I'm not quite awake, so if this sounded gibberish, tell me and I try again later.
  10. My muse is most definitely male. *glares* because he is not cooperating today although we have the day off.
  11. So sorry, but this made my night! Had a bad dream and then couldn't sleep. I'm all better now.
  12. I think he's a guy who can't knot his tie. Look at his jaw...and isn't that a beard-shadow? ( is that the right word?) *clicks to look it up*
  13. I dunno...it looks painful.
  14. Okay that's simple: I hate it. For me it tastes awful. I know it's very healthy, cholesterol lowering and what not, but ewww.
  15. Cloning extinct species IMO is only interesting for scientists, not for the general idea of preserving animals, plants etc. I really doubt that a cloned sabre-tooth tiger would ever find its way out of the lab or the zoo, though. It's far too valuable to be shot by a hunter, die of an illness it never was confronted with in its time on earth, or be killed off by the present animal population. It's scientists flexing their muscles, who can do what under the vail of 'Think what we could learn could we study extinct animals.'

    Prompt #241

I can see how well the threats of physical violence work with your muse. *eyes own muse speculatingly* There had to be a catch, but his one was really gruesome. How can he be so ignorant? That was creepy too.
  17. Happy birthday and may someone make you a strawberry cake!
  18. Lol, greedy little thing, huh? You should tell her you'll load down coffeetiviti if she doesn't behave...but where would be the fun, right?
  19. Well mine cooked Japanese tonight...very inspiring.
  20. Definitely! lol There are only a few things that are more distracting than a one-sided conversation. *clicks to read Forbes article*
  21. Actually coffetiviti is free and you can eavesdrop... Australians even complained about American accents and wanted a coffee shop tailored for Australians, which I personally found hilarious, while a rabbi wanted the distinct hum of Hebrew. I quote the article here, did the link not work? I agree with Bill though, listening to music is my usual way to find my creativity, but the comparability between which music we listen too and what noises they choose for coffetivity is very interesting IMO. Might be my inner geek, lol.
  22. You're right going to the coffee shop isn't new but using coffeetiviti is, especially when it's adapted to your local preferences.
  23. We all know this situation: You stare at your computer screen, out of the window or at a blank sheet of paper and nothing happens. Here comes the solution: You visit your favorite coffee shop OR you use this new website. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/06/21/how-the-hum-of-a-coffee-shop-can-boost-creativity/
  24. Yeah, but do you know why the didn't renew her contract? Not that it says anything about the quality of her cooking, I only wonder sometimes what's going on in the head of people we think we know only because we see them in movies or cook their recipes. BTW there is another thread you all might be interested in: https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/35731-are-you-ready-to-trade-recipes/
